      What!!!! I have the C9 also, is there any way I could get the settings? I don't care if it might now work for my panel as I can just reset picture. Dude that would be awesome! I've had this TV for around 14 months and have never been 100% satisfied with the picture.

    If you have never had a flagship OLED tv like this, trust me you are not going to regret it! When they talk about the peak brightness compared to the Sony, I tell you, you will not miss it. This TV is fantastic!! I hesitated to buy it when it was on sale this black friday because I thought I would have buyers remorse and think it was too dim or not colorful enough, but I'm glad I DID buy it because everything looks amazing on it! I am dazzled at it's power, beauty, and performance and I never think "I wish it was better!" Maybe if you have experienced the Sonys, you would notice a differences. But if you haven't, you will be perfectly happy with it. 100%, especially if you have never had flagship OLED like this. I feel sometimes these reviews, although helpful, get too caught up on comparing instead of putting themselves in the buyers shoes and think weather they would be satisfied with the TV on its own. The answer is yes for this TV. Hope that helps someone who is on the fence. 🙂

    Wow. The first time I've seen somebody properly review these panels with no BS. Shows you everything you need to know, does justice to the technology.

    • @privatename3621
      @privatename3621 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only problem with this "review" is that he never actually summarizes what the best general settings are for the average person to improve the out-of-the-box settings. It just runs through something like a hundred settings and gives you ideas on what you can change, but no final set of recommendations for this TV based on all their knowledge of it. Just a simple settings adjustment list with values would have been much more useful for 99% of people watching this video.

    • @jamesmccombe6269
      @jamesmccombe6269 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@privatename3621 One assumes the best general settings for the average person are the defaults, figured out by LG. This review shows you all the options you have to make a subjective choice for yourself based on your needs. In this regard, it was successful.

    • @privatename3621
      @privatename3621 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jamesmccombe6269 Clearly that is not the case. Many TV manufacturers boost the saturation, contrast, backlight and brightness on purpose to make their TV's "stand out", yet throw accuracy way off. And they also enable "motion smoothing" by default, which is THE most horrendous invention ever conceived and to where every production movie looks like it was recorded on a cheap video camera giving it that dreaded soap opera effect. Why? Because when they are playing their "demo" video loops in stores, where everything is made to look hyper realistic, it doesn't matter as much. But as soon as you try watching a movie with those settings, it looks gawd awful, like a low budget cheap sitcom. So... no. TV makers don't always have their customer's best interests at heart. They only have their sales quota and financial numbers as their primary focus. Whatever moves more TVs from the store to the home is what they will do.

    • @privatename3621
      @privatename3621 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      And the worst part is that 90% of TV buyers don't even bother to adjust their default settings and turn off that stupid motion smoothing. So every movie they watch looks like absolute crap, and they just learn to live with it, or don't even notice. Even my own mother didn't, and I had to literally explain why it looks so bad to her. It was only when I toggled it on and off during a movie did she finally have that "aha!" moment and understand what I was talking about. There is probably not a modern TV on the planet that doesn't require some basic adjusting away from the defaults. Worse, each input requires fine-tuning, since broadcast TV has very different display characteristics vs. movies, vs Bluray, vs game consoles, etc.

    Any idea on how to shut the TrueMotion, etc off on every input, every framerate, everywhere on the C1? Each time I plug something new in to my C1 I have to turn all of that crap back off, despite me always choosing "Apply to all inputs". Unfortunately it only applies it for whatever that signal type is. It's EXTREMELY frustrating.

    • @GameSack
      @GameSack 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jason_YT Well I pipe everything in through HDMI 1 and select with an AVR. HDMI 1 is indeed set up for game mode, but if it detects something of a different refresh rate, Game Mode goes away and I have to set it up again. Same if Dolby Vision pops up vs regular HDR. Each possible combination needs it's own setting. So each time I turn something on the TV hasn't seen before, it basically makes me start (mostly) from scratch. The only thing I don't have to adjust is the "Just Scan" option which gets rid of the overscan... not sure why it has overscan at all, much less on by default.

    My main takeaway from this video is that neither the G1 nor the A90J are worth the premium this year. Maybe Panasonic but that’s not available in America. CX or C1 are still very solid, and for 2021 the processing keeps improving for actual movie watching. I bought the 55 inch CX in the US last week. The 55 C1 was available from the same retailer for an additional $450 and, after watching this review, I don't think it is worth nearly that premium for me. I'm only a casual console gamer (I do much more PC gaming) and the biggest C1 improvements noted here were with new motion control settings and, as a purist, I turn them all off anyway. (Motion looks fine to me on CX with all processing off.) HDR brightness on the C1 was actually a bit lower than Rtings measured on the CX (both TVs in Cinema mode), but, as Vincent notes, they are functionally pretty much equal in real world viewing.

    Just ordered a C1, the 55"model for €1495 (with €100 cashback from LG and a free 5 year warranty worth €324, which includes pixel guarantee and screen burn in).
    I'd been dithering between the G1 Evo and the C1. As I'm not a gamer and after watching Vincents video above, I don't see the need to pay out extra cash for the not so great jump in brightness on the G1. I also have doubts about how durable the new 'ramp up the brightness' evo panels will be. The next few years will tell if screen burn turns out to be a big issue or not.
    This is going to be a replacement for my E6V, which had developed terrible screen burn, yellow colours were showing as green. Luckily, I had an extended warranty and LG admitted that there was a problem with the panel and I got 60% of the original price I paid for my E6V which was 4.5 years old. With all that it means it hasn’t cost me a penny and the €100 cashback can be put in to my savings account. It should arrive on May 5th. I'll miss my 3D though, which the LG E6V did beautifully.

A lot of people don't like the calibrated look, as it is dimmer and less saturated. It's also set to a 30 year old standard for so many things.

    I wish you would point out the crappy ethernet port (100Mbps) and USB 2.0 ports that LG still uses. They need to know that 1Gbps ethernet port and USB 3.0 should be standard in 2021, especially if they are advertising the TV as for gamers. Many people (like me) prefer to use wired ethernet and local streaming, so wifi is really out of the question because of stutters caused by signal interference.

    From 10:41 onwards Vincent demonstrates how PC Mode on the C1 adds a layer of input lag to the mix, which was really surprising to me, as on the CX/C9 PC Mode supposedly minimizes input lag as low as possible (with or without Game Mode Picture Preset enabled) .
    So I guess my question now is, if I want the lowest possible input lag on this TV, do I set the HDMI icon to console while using the Game Optimizer Picture Preset + Input lag boost or does changing the HDMI icon from standard to console have no effect whatsoever?
    Also, did anyone else measure the additional input lag from PC Mode on the C1 (perhaps even while using the Game Optimizer Preset) ?

    Great review. The problem is, all this super detailed and very technical data is presented, and statements are made about settings that were tested, but in the end, there is no summation of what *most* people should set their settings to right out of the box. I did see on of your other clips where you gave about a dozen or so quick tips for the LG C1 towards that end, which was extremely helpful. But for the average person, who will not be buying thousands of dollars worth of calibration equipment or spending a large amount on a professional in-home calibration service, they really just need to be give a list of 30 or 40 settings that, taken together, provide helpful improvements to the out-of-box visual performance. Just showing people a hundred settings and telling them "you can do this, or you can do that" is not ideal, because they won't really know the best "general" settings, since many settings influence other settings.

      @@Spy0nu the evo panel as of now is exclusive to the G1 . Vincent mentioned that later in the year , it is possible that the c1 will get the evo panel , as factories start using the evo panel more and more - it’s not a 100% guarantee , but a likely scenario.
      I think you’re mixing up what he said about ‘new and old’ panel in the c1 - with the factories in which the panel was made . In his experience he finds certain products from one certain factory to be better than the other .
      There should be a video called ‘LG line up explained’ in his older videos , he released a few months back . I’ll see if I can find it and link it here

    I am going to use the LG C1 with my PC. You said in your input lag test, that enabling PC Mode will increase input lag. Did you play on console or PC then?
    My question is, does enabling PC Mode on an actual PC also increase input lag?

    The c1 is a great TV and is still plenty bright imo for an oled I like it and am enjoying it but I will still be checking out the a80j and the a90j more before I make my mind up also the g1 of course I'm trying to make the right choice this year I'm not looking to upgrade my panel next yesr or the yesr after this time I want it to be at least a 3 or 4 year tv so I'm trying to make the smartest choice for me and tbh I don't need the extra brightness I really like a deeper image so for me the c1 and the a80j will be plenty bright enough
