  • Prior to picking up his new ‪@Porsche‬ 911 GT3 Touring, MotoMan went behind the scenes at Porsche Santa Clarita to learn how they prep, inspect and service a brand new Porsche prior to customer delivery. The answer is FAR more in depth than expected as we learn on the Pre-Delivery Inspection test drive with the very man tasked with blessing this particular Porsche 992 GT3 touring for the road. A behind the scenes look into an area of the car world we rarely talk about and never see!

Mike's candor and professionalism have allayed the majority of my concerns when it comes to acquiring our first Porsche. Which, I am pleased to say, may be sooner than I had anticipated!
Having been involved in the Auto Industry for over twenty five years has truly been a blessing and curse. More often than not, I lean towards the pessimistic side of caution when proceeding with the dealership.
In fact, I was a former employee at the Penske Ferrari conglomerate back in the day and I must say the Porsche techs were _always_ top notch. They treated you like an equal regardless of your paygrade. The Jaguar techs on the other hand were, shall we say...carefree at best. Ferrari only had two techs, one of whom _still_ works for the dealership. Albeit in North Scottsdale now.
Unfortunately, I had very little interaction with the technician(s) for Aston Martin, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Maserati, etc. I think there was only one Aston Martin tech at that time but I digress.
Out of the entire dealership and the many banners they held, the Porsche guys stood out the most. Turns out that the majority of the Porsche techs are Porschephiles themselves. So their natural love and passion for these cars was exemplified through their excellent work ethic. The entire time I was employed there, I _never_ saw a Porsche tech hot-rod a customers car. I wish I could say the same about the others.
Nevertheless, I am LOVING this series on your new GT3 Touring. I welcome any and all content you are willing to share with us. Congrats again George!
    Stay classy my friend.

"Meet Mike.." says George in the intro.
Mike says, _"Hello!"_ with a smile.
Seems like a perfectly missed opportunity to say, _"Hi there!!"_ with a wave like Lieberman.
      Stay classy my friend.

Just shows old world values. Quality in, Quality out!! Mike's values and attention to detail are evident and he has a wonderful future and clearly shows why Porsche has high quality ratings and repeat buyers for decades!!! In fact the quality is only matched by Motoman, you can see in every video how prepared and detailed he is, and it lets him tell a story and still lets folks ponder facts and relevance!!

True story: The plan was just to shoot the one premiere episode you already saw and include a clip with the 'tech' from in the car. However, now that you see that the 'tech' turned out to be the one and only Mike, he was just so good I had to set him up with his own episode. None of that was scripted or outlined.

Nice upload, I even learnt something. Thanks. e.g I have scrapped the under tray a few times, but not the nose as I have nose lift.
I wish my dealership took this same pride in delivery. My car was filthy dirty and scratched on pick day. Took me hours to clean it when I got home. Pd off!!

    I love Porsche ............ I've had 4 over the years. My first was a 1970 White 911 Targa, followed by a 1972 Charcoal Gray 911 Coupe and then I purchased a used Gray 1972 914-6 (which I
raced at Sears Point Sonoma & Laguna Seca Monterey) and my final Posche was a 1980 Red 911 Turbo. I currently drive a 2021 AUDI SQ8 but watching you enjoying you're 911 GT3 is
giving me the itch for a new Porshe! Damn You 😊 By the way, how's the leg George? You look great my friend!

Do they(porsche) often informed you of what damages your car gets during PDI or most times they keep quiet and just replaced the damaged stuff without you knowing...in your case, because you knew the dealership and you get to keep the skid plate.

Hi, I’m Mike the Technician in the video. I have actually been T-boned in a customers car by a driver who ran a red light. Thankfully I can say the Porsche I was driving that day kept me safe and I can also say it was thankful that the car only suffered minor damage and we immediately notified our client.
