    love the way you think about the sides and the ends. everyone gets stuck on doing this and the detales make or brake a project. Respect and god bless.

    The best part about this beautiful box is that I've never seen anything like it. Nice work. Thanks.

    That box is fantastic! Great job! Only thing I would point out is the two screws in the bottom inside, you could have found a hidden way to apply them, maybe interior dowels or maybe do that base step in the beginning before gluing the veneer. Other than that, it's great! Just found your channel :)

    Great box! only thing I would change would be not spray black on edge of ply - you can see it bleed into the light veneer. Edging strip if some sort would be better.

      Using a CNC is no different than using any other tool at your disposal. A CNC isn’t just plug and play. It takes a certain level of skill to use.

    When I have sene other people do the same pattern they first glue the pieces in to hexagons, using rubber bands to glue them together. and then glue the hexagons together to form the board. That method looked quicker and a little more accurate than glueing everything individually like you did ;)

    was thinking about the amount that you will need to make to insure that it zll lines up.so ill learn from you. I'm working on a kitchen and only need to line up one end and one edge. But it has to be all end grain. love your shop.my next tool is a thikness or drum sander.In Canada we call it a drum sander,but I have a French friend that calls it a thickness sander?. sorry cant tell if your Ozzy or Brit. sounds a lot the same to me but some words give it away.no disrespect Brother. its late forgive the spelling and the book.lol

    Very nice. Thinking about the diamond patterns, could you have cut three long shaped bit of lumber, glued then together to make a hexagon then cut off 'discs' with your miter saw? None the less - very nice.
    I know what I'll be building with my (7 year old) daughter next week when Mummies over on the NZ south island for the week at her sisters. I might go for a smaller version as she wants to build a wooden pencil case with me.

    • @KingPostTimberWorks
      @KingPostTimberWorks  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi , could have done that, but you end up with end grain showing, thats how the japanes decorate some pieces. this pattern looks best when the timber grain is parralel with the side of the cube. good luck with the draw!

    P.S. Try to look up mtmwood, he's the best end-grain cutting-board maker on the Planet. He's Russian, and his work is mind-blowing. Unfortunately a lot of it's done by CNC machine, but there's hand work too. We should all help each other, so that way we all become as good as we can.
