I tries to make levitating squares at this end grain cutting board. This board looks simple, but the making process is complex enough. A lot of gluing stages and reserves in order to get correct squares.

This is the guy that lives in Russia and he do not always want bitcoins . All I did was go to his Etsy page and order them. This was before the war was started.

That is a great design! It really came out well and does look 3D. Nice to see the boys again helping Dad do some maintenance on the table saw! Mom was inspecting their work of course.

I was gobsmacked at the sheer number of steps required to make one of these! The one I purchased is sitting on my counter work space next to the sink and it looks even better "live and in person" than either in pictures or on video. Your work is both truly beautiful as well as eminently practical works of art!

Great board - often the simplest looking things are the most complicated to make - Japanese woodwork is a great example of this as well - very clean and simple looking but incredibly complex joinery to achieve the result - look forward to the next video - perhaps a Sketchup model from your " maintenance crew " after they have tuned up the computer!! I'm pretty new to all this stuff, so forgive me for my ignorance....but is there a reason u cut the walnut and maple into strips just to glue them up into solid slabs instead of just using dimensional walnut boards and maple boards WITHOUT slicing em down?

I just got your e-mail about the precise connections issue due the shrinkage. One idea it is to make the inlays with your CNC over a blank end grain board. Does not have the same "soul" of a solid end grain blocks as you did, but the final visual result is the same, without the issues.
SVG1740 I make inlays only when I can't make in traditional way. Inlays are good for furniture but not so good for cutting boards. It is impossible to glue end grain surfaces well. So inlay is glued to the board only at the edges.
