  • In a candid interview, Tom Eaton shares his personal experience with gambling addiction and the devastating consequences it had on his life.
Eaton reveals how his addiction escalated with the rise of online gambling and the lack of checks and accountability within the industry.
His story sheds light on the tactics used by online gambling companies to lure vulnerable individuals into a cycle of debt and addiction.
Eaton takes responsibility for his actions but highlights the urgent need for greater control and accountability within the online gambling industry.
He tells Jeremy Kyle about the trouble he ended up in after stealing £250,000 from work to fund his gambling addiction, and all the further problems this caused him.

Yes go past any bookies in Birmingham especially in the deprived areas you will see them outside, and I don't understand affluent areas ban them or have minimum outlets, on there high streets
Deprived areas seem to have more of them, and how does the council allow this ?
Also it's general knowledge, bookies like to pay cash, they prefer not to give a bank transfer or cheque, why ? I didn't know

You can see it in his eyes. Us gambling addicts have a look to us, that nothing that could happen in front of our eyes could change the end goal of the current Moment, which always supersedes everything including a loss of everything including every $$$ right in front of you. Once the next hand is about to be dealt. You may notice or you may not…

Find one family member or friend that you trust and tell them. I don't know how it feels to have a gambling problem but I definitely know how to pull yourself out of the gutter and rebuild your life again. You can do it, don't give up hope. Take it one step at a time.

Where this woman and the betting authorities, addiction charities etc get their data from is anyone's guess. They all quote these mystical figures of 1-3^% of gamblers are at risk when they can't possibly know. Just from standing in a bookies and watching obviously poor people ramming their entire wallet contents in a fobt or making numerous trips to cash machines tells me it is at least 30% who can't control their gambling. This does not include online gambling where deposits in my experience are not questioned.

They should not blame the company/casinos for his addiction. Just like nobody blames alcohol or cigarettes companies. I fully understand how difficult it is to keep gambling under control. It's not the free play or other perks that make a gambler gamble. I know it first hand. I play slot machines quite often. Even $0.50 or $1.00 bets can lead into big losses in a short period of time. I like getting the perks but they don't make me come back to a casino. I have a decent amount of savings and a lot of free time. If I'm winning I try to leave with at least some of the winnings but it's not easy. I stopped taking my bank cards with me. I also started to move some of my investments into locked in ones. Just in case I have an urge to play more which means lose mor in a longer period of time. Self exclusion is probably the best way of getting out of gambling but I'm not ready for it. I

I have no doubt that problem gambling follows the Pareto or 80/20 principle. 20% of gamblers lose 80% of the money. This is a very serious problem.
Pains me to see all the seniors in casinos throwing their money away on slots. Depressing...😢
