Canon Pixma MG 8150 suddenly started giving the B200 "code". the machine was 7 years old. Spoke to Canon and they said print head had gone and no spare parts available. In reality the print head was blocked (my fault! ... long time since print head clean). Followed this video and it worked!!! Basically remove the ink cartridges, then the plastic holder for the heads and carefully wash in water WITHOUT getting the electronic circuits WET!!! Left it overnight then re started. Yeh! It worked! had to do a print head clean a couple of times and then some test prints. Back in business. This video is accurate and does work! Thanks a lot .... pity Canon dont tell you what to do!
I followed advice to clean the printhead by removing it as recommended by another youtube video. This did not get rid of the error code. I found this video and for my canon MG5520 I had to change the advice a bit. For the MG5520, I unplugged the printer with the printhead centered. However, in this case the printhead goes to the left immediately when powered back up, so you have to close the cover immediately after the printhead starts to go left. It rebooted and the error code was gone. I did a test print and all was well. My great thanks to this video and stripes and circles.
This worked for the MG5620 as well. You need to close the cover pretty much immediately after turning the printer on (after pressing the ON button). It will complain about improper shutdown, but that's ok.
Okay, so I followed your instructions and the code came up again. 🙄🤨 I cleaned the heads not as carefully as you did...lol. 😄😄 By this point I was frustrated and this printer is over 10 years old. Kind of dried the heads off with a paper towel and the whole time avoiding the green plate at the back. Still damp I put it into the printer and changed out the low ink cartridges. Load and behold it prints! Yay! I'm still in the market for a new printer, waiting for a great sale. This old beast still had several cartridges to use up, so hopefully it lasts that long. 😊 Thank you so very much for posting this tutorial! God bless. 💖🥰
Thank you so much for your video !!! Worked for my Canon MX860, I did take out the printer head, run under the hot water, washed all the print out cleaned it, that included getting the green part wet, then dried it with hair dryer, waited about half hr. then put it back, worked great ! The important thing in there is, before the printer head goes left close cover right away.
I did it, No you did it, I tried to many things and it did not work on my Canon Pixma MX922 . But with your tutorial in the in the first 30 sec. Works perfect now, thank you so much.
Hi Claudio Mendez! I’m happy that my video helped you to fix your printer, thank you for your post😊 Please remember to subscribe to my Chanel, and like my video, thank you
Hi Claudio Wonder how did you manually move the print head on your MX922 Mine locks up when power is off Your quick response will be greatly appreciated
Perfect instructions! Thanks for showing how to remove the print head, this was the only video that showed in detail with adequate light just how simply it lifted out. My print head was LOADED with excess ink. I used hot water and a syringe to rinse it out until the water came out clear. I dried it out, installed and all is well. The B200 code does come on for e reason! Thanks Again!
I did this last night and just put the dried printer head back in. Am now waiting in anticipation. At least the printer is making good noises... Ah, darn, an error sound... False alarm! Just an(other) empty cartridge. After changing it, the printer prints perfectly (for now at least). Thank you so much! Saved us a lot of money and it was actually quite enjoyable to do.
My B200 error on my MX892 came courtesy of performing a Deep Cleaning to resolve a clogged blue color head. Previously, I performed 3 normal cleanings with slight improvements each time. So, when i initiated the deep cleaning, hola B200 error. I was about to junk it and head to Best Buy, then I thought TH-cam it and arrived here. I pulled the head out and ran it under a steady drip for 10 min while shaking and emptying and repeating until i say little color; careful not to wet the motherboard. I also tapped the bottom of the print head on a paper towel every minute to clean it. Now, I will let it dry overnight, reassemble and attempt to print tomorrow. Thanks for the video
THank you SO Much for this! We live in Africa and really need our printer working. I was trying to print out some crucial documents and went to do it and found the error code. Given our location, repair would have been impossible and buying a new printer would have taken long shipping time. I am so glad this worked for us.
Thanks. This worked for my MX922. I had a MX892 previously which also had a B200 death. I knew people were MX922 complaining about the B200 error for it too, but there wasn't anything else on the market at that time that had everything I wanted. I bought the MX922 as temporary printer and hoped it would work at least a year. It made it 2.5 years before the B200. It's working again now thanks for your fix. I don't expect it to last much longer, but at least it gives me time to shop around... :)
Because of your brilliant video, you saved me from buying another printer ( because I like my canon printer). Thank you soooo much for taking the time to show me how to clean my printer head. I honestly appreciate it sooo very much!!!!
Thank you so much! Got my printer working right away. When I called Canon they said the message meant that something was broken internally and there wasn't anything to do but take it to be serviced and since it was so old it wouldn't be worth it to do that. I love sticking it to the man! Woot!!
Great video, thank you. I cleaned my head and it works perfect. Only thing I did different was use a air blower to quick dry the head. I blow dryed it for about 4 or 5 minutes until dry. Worked great. thanks again. peace:: ps . My printer was a cannon M560 for anyone having same issues, also I tried all the reset tricks to no avail, the head needed a good cleaning. thanks again.
We cleaned the heads first with no results and try your first step, no more error but it reappeared when we wanted to print. We just turned off printer and computer and it worked afterwards. Thanks a lot !
Thanks today It happend almost the same error with my canon printer I have mg5650 I watched your video first and then directly restarted it as you showed I learn something from you how cool is that thanks a lot :))
We used the first sequence for the MP620 printer and that helped . Thanks a lot. The customer service of Canon told me that he would charge we 80 bucks. I was thinking about literally trashing and here you go It started to work. Thanks a lot.
Hi, I want to thank you because your method to erase the 200 error code is really good. It took two times to work. You saved my printer MG 5340 and I am very glad. Thank you again to give us the trick !!!!!
Hi Everybody Thank So much for all your Comments! I’m so happy that most of you have been able to fix your printer, by following my method step by step😃 I want to ask every one of you for a favor, to Please, Remember to Like and Subscribe to my Chanel if You still haven’t yet, I will really Appreciate it♥️ Thanks Everyone 😃
This worked, but I had to do the reverse order; clean out the cartridge, THEN close the lid as the mechanism runs to the left. Otherwise it wouldn't work even after cleaning the cartridge, and B200 would continue. Also cleaning the cartage took 5 DAYS as ink seemed to endlessly leak out! Thank you!
Amazing! It worked on my first try. My printer is the Canon MG6150. B200 error. I just moved the cartridges/printhead in the middle. Had another error which is no grey ink. I just pressed the reset button, and it printed again. Thank you very much.
I have a Canon MP620 and I fixed my B200 error by fixing/opening the air vent on one of the cartridges which was blocked by the yellow tear-off which didn't tear off completely. Actually I couldn't remove the remaining tape blocking the air vent so I just used a sewing needle to open up the air passage on the top of the cartridge. The error was happening all the time before, even when I just turned on the printer. Before I discovered the problem, I tried flushing the print head with warm water several times but the error came back after a short while. I had even ordered a new print head thinking it was a problem with the head. But it is completely normal now after fixing the cartridge.
Thank you so much. MG5350 now fixed after removing and re-inserting both cartridges and printhead without success. All it took was to power on the printer while the lid was open and then close the lid when the printerhead was moving to the left - as you described. :).
Can't believe this worked!!! After this unlocked the printer, I was able to print a test page and could see that the black ink cartridge was blocked. A deep cleaning from the printer menu solved the problem. My printer is a pixma MP560.
Wowza! Thank you! I was going to trash my MX922 printer and buy a new one. But I tried your cool trick and it's printing beautifully! I love you! ~ Laurel
thank you so much!!! you saved us a ton! We called canon and they asked if there was an obstruction. Then suggested to wait 24 hours after unplugging it, and if it still has the b200 error, get rid of it. Glad we didn't.
After trying multiple TH-cam solutions on my Canon MX882, I tried your trick when you close the lid as the printhead is moving left. (The interior looks exactly the same as your printer.) To my surprise, the printer booted the FIRST TIME in over a week. Yay you are a life saver!! Thanks for this. I watched several other videos and had no luck. I’m just back from a holiday with a heap of orders to catch up on and the printer stopped working! I covered up those 4 connections and BOOM it works again! THANK YOU! :D
I just took the cartridges out of the tray on my MG5320. Turned off the printer. Waited about 10 seconds and turned the printer back on. Put the cartridges back in the tray and voila! Test print worked fine without any error code.
Thank you for your vidéo! it worked on my Canon MG5150 after step 2 but i have just used some special spray instead of the water bath and that took me about 15 mn. Good to save some money, time and..the biosphere. Thanks again S&C.
Great! You are magic! thanks, everything worked perfectly. I didn't need to wash: simply paper for cleaning and I asked the printer to clean and align printerhead.
When you can't move the printer head (don't force it), you can try to close the lid when it start moving to the middle after turning on, it did the trick to remove the error. I also tried to clean the head and use blow drying (not too close) to speed up the process. I have MP560
signofzeta Same here first it not show error code after I unplug printer and move the print head to the middle but when I tried print anythin from PC error code keep coming back and I also cleaned the printer head but it didnt change anythin.
same here, the error goes away only for the printer to boot. But, once a print order is executed it comes back again. I think canon is fucking oversmart.
Único vídeo que realmente resolve o problema!! parabéns e muito obrigado!! Thanks a lot!! only this video solve my problem. Sorry bad inglish. Tks from Brazil
Damn. It helped after 4rth time))). Thank you. However, my special apricoation to my buddy Shuhrathon who referred me to this video. God bless him and his family.
I tried a couple of different things that did not work, including turn-off, unplug, reboot etc. I also got experienced "I tried this, except that every time I try to print something, or open the cover and close it, the error comes back." Eventually, after doing all of that, I undid each printer cartridge (I didn't actually remove them, just pressed the lever unseating each one), I repeated that again and moved the head manually. After that, it worked. I do not know which part of the procedure actually had the desired effect, but it worked. I suspect it may have been moving the print head assembly (i.e. the part that contains the print cartridges) manually.
Hi Jonathan Pope!😊 I’m happy my video helped you to fix your printer, thank you for your comment! Please remember to subscribe to my Chanel and like my video, thanks
Thanks very much for making this video. Is it ok to use the same ink cartridges as before since it was just a dirty print head issue? Or do I need to replace the ink as well?
Like you cleaned the head - no joy. But your trick worked. Very many thanks. It's not so much the price of a new printer its a case of what you know!!!
Thank you sooo much it bloody well worked I don't have the same printer my model is Canon Pixma MG6350 but it's the same principal Did exactly what you did thumbs up from me great job girl great Technical support job lol
canon mg 5420 here... well played... move print head over... start with the cover open... close cover... viola! Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You did i say: "Thank You!" Life Saver
Pixma Pro100 first time, had 10 lights flashing alternatively, code B200 I assume. Turned out I forgot one of the colors. I had to manually pull the print head over, unplugged it, took all print heads out, put all 8 in, first time power on it didn't move the print head over, next time it did, went through 2 minutes of humming and now I've got the solid light.

Moving the print carriage to the middle and closing the lid like they did in the video is all it took. Awesome! Thank you.
This error happened to me as the 3 sheets of paper jammed in my printer. And Goodness gracious, you are an angel

Thanks Stripes and Circles, I have a "MX5220" and after cleaning the Printhead still got the error code B200. Your tip did the trick! Thanks again.
Tried that on a MG5450 after a B200 error caused by an obstacle, stopping the output paper door from opening and works like a charm. Thumbs up!
Thank you SO much for supplying a simple solution to what I thought would be a complicated and possibly expensive repair job.

B200 problem is solved, your technique has worked . Thank you

I tried a couple of different things that did not work, including turn-off, unplug, reboot etc. I also got experienced "I tried this, except that every time I try to print something, or open the cover and close it, the error comes back."
Eventually, after doing all of that, I undid each printer cartridge (I didn't actually remove them, just pressed the lever unseating each one), I repeated that again and moved the head manually. After that, it worked. I do not know which part of the procedure actually had the desired effect, but it worked. I suspect it may have been moving the print head assembly (i.e. the part that contains the print cartridges) manually.

Thanks very much for making this video. Is it ok to use the same ink cartridges as before since it was just a dirty print head issue? Or do I need to replace the ink as well?

It worked on my MP560! did not clean, just did the first part, then ran the cleaning on the machine.
Thanks so much, I watched a number of them but this was the first that worked.
Thank you so much, worked first time
Thanks! This instruction worked for my MX892.
