bro you’re a god definitely liking and subscribing. just got my 2016 550i couple of days ago and the check light is already on. i called the dealer they said to take it to a shop to get the codes ran and send them over. now i don’t have to go to a shop lol but i still set an appointment up for a full service check.
What if you have the EML on but no codes showing?! What can it be? Reseted it and no longer showing now, but interested in what caused it to appear since there were no codes in the list.
Mine is 2012 BMW F30 328i. I changed the brake fluid at home. After that I feet the soft brake pedal. However, the oil level looks fine. So, I reset the brake fluid light. However, after resetting the brake fluid light, the engine light is turned on. Then the brake becomes hard and the engine wouldn't turn on. What is the issue with this? Thanks for the advice.
This is great information, thanks. I purchased a 2016 F10 535d in February and the check engine light just came on last week. Then went away after a couple days, now it's back this morning. I checked to see if there were any codes with this code check and no codes appeared.
@@JeffHowell Gotcha! Years back I had a convertible Jaguar XK8 that I only used in the Spring and Summer. During the Fall and Winter I would take the battery out. When Spring time came around, I'd hook everything up and use this as my weekend car. Well, one season I just so happened to get it back on the road around the time my inspection was due. I took it over to my mechanic and he failed me! Not sure if it is unique to that car or across all OBD2 vehicles, but for the first 100 miles or so there is an internal code that is set - P1001. P1001 basically means "I have no idea how well I'm performing, I've had no juice for the last X amount of the months, come back to me when I cover 100 miles". So basically, I'd have to drive 100 or so miles then return. Once I covered 100 miles, P1001 would flip to P1000 which meant the computer was able to attest to the fact that all emission systems were functional and that I was able to pass inspection. Thanks mate. My engine management light is on and I’m getting a low battery message. Also my diesel gauge isn’t working. When I checked the error codes there aren’t any. Do you think it could be the battery causing the issue? Thanks
That's where I would start. I went through something similar with this car. Battery was on it's last leg. Top tip - if you don't already know, you can't just replace the battery on these cars. There is a computer that manages the battery. That needs to be flashed to let it know a new battery is installed. That computer regulates how the battery is charged. If it isn't updated, it'll charge your new battery as if an older weak one is installed. You'll just introduce new issues at that point. Hope this helps. Good luck
I would connect your car to a scanner then. That's very odd that you're not seeing code. Are you sure you're pulling the correct menu up? If you have a CEL, you should see a related code.
I have the same check engine light and reached to the error code option but no error codes. If i reset the software, all the software updates will be gone too?
