    Vertical GPU + TG actually viable? Let me know your thoughts.
    4:30 - correction, 3-slot cards are not compatible since there are only 2 expansion slots. 2-slot cards are probably ideal here anyway to keep some distance against the panel.

      You're right, just 4°C from vertical tg and vertical mesh.
      But if we think about it, there are 7°C between vertical tg and horizontal mesh, that with modern gpu can easily lead to 200MHz less.
      I really don't get how people can trade performance for aesthetic.

    • @andrewmiller8653
      @andrewmiller8653 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I was obsessed with tempered glass and RGB for awhile, but ever since I've switched over to SFF PC's, putting so much power into a small case like this is all I need now. RGB is way too expensive and sometimes detrimental to PC performance.

    Thank you for clearing up the U12A clearance! I kind of made a mess in the comment section going back and forth, but I'm super relieved to know it'll fit with the mesh side panel. I'm glad you're doing videos on this case, because it seems like only one other channel is. I fully plan on going for this when I upgrade to my 3900X with the NH-U12A (unless the new CPUs are released before then) and my EVGA 1080 Ti.

  • @DaneMurdock
    @DaneMurdock 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I'd really love a sound dampening, solid panel option for this case. It looks like if you channel air from the bottom to exhaust out of the top, then it wouldn't really hurt temps any more than a glass panel. And I don't want my PC to have its lights glowing at me.

    Great stuff man, thank you. I wonder if putting a GPU waterblock vertical will forfeit the possibility of top exhaust fans (looks that way on the CM website at least). And also if a regular thickness radiator with regular fans would fit below a horizontally mounted GPU waterblock (and if the air can even move around it)... I guess we will see it in tour watercooled build. I swear I wish they made this case juuust a little bit taller.

    Thanks for another great video on this case. I was in market for an ITX case which could take full fat 6800XT which is reaching ridiculous dimensions for AIB cards. I was looking at powercolor Red Devil or Sapphire Nitro+ and before coming across your video my only option was Silverstone RV01-E with some modifications and without case fans for GPU which would create thermal issues and defeats the purpose of high end gaming PC. While I love small ITX format, they all seem to max out at 2 slot card or you have to compromise CPU cooler, thats where this is a great ITX case for someone like myself looking for small factor without any compromises and future proof at the same time.

    Was playing around with my own NR200P and CM ML240L V2. I had it originally in the traditional side mount, but tested a bottom mount last weekend. It was clearly more audible in that configuration. Not super loud, but there was a noticeable hum coming from the pump. In its side mount, it's practically inaudible.
    And a vertical GPU isn't really the most space-optimized layout anyway. You sacrifice a ton (no rear fan, no 3.5" HDD, potential interference with top fan, no dedicated pump/res for custom loop) just for having a better view of the GPU. That's the only real issue I have with the case. I hope CM expand further on this case with some sort of top-hat add-on that allows users to mount a rad up top. You only need a 2mm extra clearance to squeeze in a slim 20mm rad and slim 15mm fans. So if a top-hat added 5mm of extra clearance, it would be perfect. The plastic honeycomb design does feel strong enough to support the weight of that at least.

    really great channel certainly the best SFF know-how out there and great video quality.
    I am floating maybe a silly idea which is to shrink my MATX rig with a VEGA64 LC (120mm rad) and Ryzen also watercooled with an IDcooling Frost flow AIO(240mm rad) into this great little case. But I am struggling to assess a robust "How and where placing the Rads?". was thinking about teh CPU rad at the bottom and the GPU rad at the top in pull config but afraid the latter will clash with either Motherboard or the PSU cage. I cant think about any Option that would work but if people here have recommendations, its much appreciated. thanks so much

      The only minor trade off I can see going with the NR200 over the TU150 is being limited to 153mm CPU cooler height whereas the TU150 will take anything. However, the better airflow might make going with a smaller CPU cooler a trade off. It's a shame how close the NR200 just misses being able to fit Fuma 2, Dark Rock 4, and the others. Not sure how many air coolers better than the U9S will fit in both mesh/window configurations.

      @@ryanlemieux3323 yeah that's very true, however I did like the idea of running the vertical GPU, showing off the hardware. For this, the water cooler would be appropriate anyhoo, so no real loss for me there!
      Thanks for the comment :)

    Would've loved to see a build with TG and gpu at bottom. Maybe it will block airflow too much, but I prefer that aesthetic, to the gpu fan look.

    Great video! How well do you think it will support mini-DTX motherboards? I have the Crosshair VIII Impact which uses the DIMM.2 for SSD's and therefore sticks out a bit. Do you think it will interfere with the GPU when using the vertical or normal mount?

    Could I ask your opinion? I love what you're showing us with the NR200 line, but I love my Cougar QBX too. In your opinion, is the NR200/NR200P good enough to justify jumping from the QBX? My biggest concern with the QBX is compatibility. It doesn't fit my NH-C14S, and I had to sell my GTX 1070 Gaming X because I would've needed to take a hacksaw to the case to make anything much bigger than a reference height design fit, which is going to severely limit my next-gen card options.

      Its also on the bigger side of the chart tho (17/18L) if you need a really compact pc i would try to stick below ncase size. That being said if you don't mind the extra size this case rocks. It has insane airflow

      @@Matpermad you right, but I personally will choose this case instead of DAN A4 or Ghost S1 since those cases require very specific cooling solutions, and upgrading parts in the future is also quite challenging as well. Furthermore, the NR200 is cheaper as well.

      Cerberus X is more versatile and still under 20L.

    Surely by running the vented panel you could run a full negative pressure setup very similar to the sliger SM580, which shiuld produce very impressive thermal results

    Could you use bifurcation to get one of the smallest SLI rigs? I'm thinking a mini workstation running a 3950x and a couple 2080 supers or something would be pretty awesome. Slightly better performance than your sliger threadripper micro atx build in an even smaller case would be awesome!

    Seems like for full air cooled build a C14s or even Wraith Spire would be better for airflow. Top down would work in conjunction with the top fans exhausting.

      I want to see thermals results for the glass panel with two exhaust fans at the top, an Scythe Fuma 2 set to pull air in from the rear, and a 2.5 slot gpu at the bottom.
      Will the glass help the top fans create enough negative pressure to help pull air in through the back and bottom?
      Would it be better to go with a short gpu and keep the cpu fans front to back?
      So many configurations to test.
