Oh oh oh, now I understand how a certain pillow case was made! As a kid I used to love the "strawberry pillow" we had on the sofa. It had close rows of Christmas red pompoms and below them, green yarn in two tones. It was just a gorgeous piece of handicraft from the 1950's. I'm still mad at my mom who threw it out in the trash bin instead of asking me to take it. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHOWING THIS TECHNIQUE!

Someone gave my mother a pillow years ago, it had to be about 1960 with these Pom poms. The pillow was black and white yarn. I often wondered how she made those tiny balls and hooked them together . Thankyou for showing this. I enjoyed it so much

Yes so did mine my grandmother used to make them too and that was over 80 years ago. It is so nice this has not been lost and is making a comeback into crafting.

where can i buy the plastic shuttle used in the pompom blanket please
Amazon or ebay look under fishing net repair shuttles you will need one at least a size 8 9 or 10 some sell a pack for just a few pounds. I was given a set by a subscriber the ones I was given had from a small size 1 to 8 i find the size 8 is just right.

Hi Alison, I love all of your videos. I had an idea for this pattern, if it was made a little larger and in cotton it would make a perfect rug for the bathroom or even rug for next to the bed. What a beautiful and brilliant project!!!

just follow along with the tutorial honey and pause it when you need too. It is much easier than it looks honestly. Once you make 1 you will be making loads. These tutorials are also being used to make pet blankets too peoples pets adore sleeping on them nice and cosey warm for them. xx

just finished my first ever pompom blanket,found wearing an old leather glove helped when pulling wool tight,thanks again for wonderful instruction
Yes I use woolen gloves with the tip of the fingers cut off. So glad you like the blanket.
