I have all my rounds of wool on this cross cross blanket and I am about to begin tying it. I only saw you tying the pom pom foldover part ...is the whole blanket tied the exact same way?
yes they all get tied in a X at the joints.
See when you have done your 1st 5rounds do u just tie a knot at the end on to a nail then start next colour?
yes angela thats right
Hiya, love your videos, could u tell me how to join two pom pom blankets together to make a bigger one x
The ones I show are demo size you can make a much bigger frame. They don't look so good tied or sewn together. Here is how I made my frame. th-cam.com/video/PWzSiMVankc/w-d-xo.html

Hi Alison, I absolutely love these blankets, your video's are so easy to follow. Can you tell me how long the dowels are on here please as I have trouble with the rounds popping off?. Lynn
4 or 5 inches I will measure them
once you knock them in they are about 8cm sticking out
Goooooooood
Thank you, Annem
Hi Alison, it looks stunning. Can I just check that it is ALL tied with white?
you tie with the same colour as the back so its not seen so much. Tie from the back

Thank you I will :)
So very Beautiful!! I Love ❤️ your tutorials. Where did you buy your loom?? I live in the USA.
Rose Hill the link is in the description under the tutorial and in the comments. She will post to USA if you are willing to pay postage. She has posted to the USA before or have a look on my channel I show you how to make your own one with nails. How to make a pom pom blanket part1

where can I purchase this loom? what size is it? and will this blanket fit a car seat or pram plz love your videos x
Love your videos! I'm new to this so your videos are really helping :) I'm up to the part where you add the blue yarn but i'm getting a little confused on how many times i'm supposed to do it? From the side i've got 3 rows all the way around the loom is that enough?
You need 5 rounds, Emma, unless you are making a thinner lighter blanket. For pom poms, 5 rounds are always best to give nice fluffy pom poms. Some people do 6 rounds for pom poms to give an even more compact look but 6 rounds must be tied as tight as you can get it.
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel thank you so much for your help!
Hi Alison, if you cut through all the white would you have all white Pom poms on one side and the blue crosses on the reverse ? Kind regards Carol
Yes, Carol, To be honest, I have never done that. I am sure it is because the cross side would not be so stable in such a large area.
Hi Alison im trying to make the criss cross blanket but ive just started to do the shuttle thingy but the first 1 ive done just looking at the criss cross site doesnt look at puffed up and fluffy as yours? Does it just start to puff up once you cut it off the loom? Also do you shuttle the full loom then just cut the pom pom lines and leave all the rest? thanks tracy
I tie the pom pom side separatly. Then I tie the criss cross part and yes the loom keeps it tight it will slightly puff up when you take it off the loom. Well done and thank you for watching.
Hi Allison could you please tell me where you buy your wool from as I can’t make a blanket for £4. Kind regards barb. X
Aldi also Wilko online £1 per 100g B&M do it too. Aso if your in UK the £1 ohh and Home bargains also does it £1 per 100g
I am at the tying stage I have done same as u white but done purple.. when you tie do you tie it all in white so the tie lines are all on white side then turn over and tie on other side. So tie lines are still in white but on the blue side x
yes if the base is white tie it in white so it blends in.
Do you have a link for the loom board please, I have one with nails but I find they rust over time so wanted to change to wooden dowels thank you in advance x
look for ROSE HILL in my facebook craft group Craftytwunts art and crafts. Rose sells the dowel peg looms all sizes and she will post overseas too.
Hi all I’ve made a mistake on my turn over blanket by cutting the base where the Pom poms are I’ve managed to tie where I’ve cut but is there anything I can do to repair this lynne
I have never cut right through mine. I have cut a few strands befor like you i tie them under the pom pom or just pull them out if its just one or two. If you ask in my craft group Craftytwnts art and crafts on facebook the ladies who still make them might have some good advice.
Finished my blanket it’s lovely! I used pink and baby white wool. Could I use thicker wool ur Pom Pom looks fuller. I wish could send u a pic so u could see it.
Yes you can! on facebook my group is called Craftytwunts art and crafts
❤❤
thank you
I had my roommate build me a loom just like that one except i just use small slender nails instead of pegs ( i didn't think of pegs🙄) When you were going diagonal with the blue yarn, did you have yarn on both sides you were using ? Or were you just using 1 ball of blue yarn ? I got confused when you were just about done showing us how you did the blue diagonal... It looked like you were using blue yarn on the bottom of both sides...? Please correct me😉 Thank you dear❣️
its 4 strands of the same yarn at the same time
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel Gotcha hon❣️ Thank you so much👍✌️😘
Can you join several small ones to make a larger blanket? I would love a lap blanket like this
This is a demonstration size you can buy or make looms any size. I have a tutorial on making the loom frame on my channel. th-cam.com/play/PLrDyWXz56tb41XxScpZHvhmIpgmQwpCVE.html
Do you have a source for purchasing this loom in the usa? Your work is beautiful and your instructions are so simple and easy.
look on amazon for pom pom blanket loom frames some will post to USA
What wo do you use for making blankets....I've tried with double knitting but feel it could be thicker
I always use double knitting for these, I have tried thicker and do one less round. You dont want them too thick to tie tight.
oh my very good memeries i use to do that with my granny in the 70s but we used phentex....

If you have 1 400g ball how many time would you go round base x
I don't know but I will tell you how I deal with 400g balls and cones of yarn/wool. Standard size loom. Plan1. if it is a blanket all one colour just keep winding until all the wool is wound on.
Plan2. (THIS IS WHAT i DO) Wind a ball off the 400g until you think you have half of it. Cut it, so you now have near enough 2 x 200g now do the same for both 200g you should end up with 4 100g balls ( or nearly that) I then wind the 4 balls iv made onto the loom. My daughter does my winding she will even wind those 4 balls into one. so they don't run all over the floor. I hope this helps. It may sound a lot of work but it is much easier than winding only one strand 80 odd times around the loom to get 10 full rounds of 4.
Great work
Can you tell length , width and distance between nails
I have a tutorial on how to make one on my channel. The distance is one and a half inches between nails overall length etc depends on the size you make and what wood you use.
Please could you tell us the measurements between the nails. Glad finding your channel again after awhile
Hi allison love your videos...where can i get directions to make a loom?
on my channel have a look through the old videos or google how to make a pom pom blanket loom and mine will pop up.
شرح جميل شكرا لك
أين يمكنني شراء هذا النوع من النول؟؟
I used the link for Rose Hill sent a wee pm inquiring about a loom I got no reply and now the link doesnt work. Wpold she have shut down her profile? Im at a loss I would really prefere a loom with dowels
Not that I know of honey, you could try openly asking in the craft group. She is still active in the craftytwunts facebook group
Are you using a New kind of frame? Can I have the measure and the distanza between the pegs? I have not tried yet.
Sorry, I can't with this one as it was given to me to promote. But I do have a tutorial on the nail one and this is exactly the same just with drilled holes for pegs.
What thickness of wool would do you use for the best results
Margaret, I always use double knitting. You can use thinner wool you will have to add an extra round and thicker just do 1 less round.
Hi I have to looms for sale is anyone interested. Both are assembled. I live in Glasgow. Can be picked up.
Hi Alison thanks for sharing your videos they are fabulous . I’m just wondering when you did the tie up in white wool.. how is the reverse blue.. thanks
i ted the pom pom section in white so the blue wouldn't show in the center of the pom poms and the bottom section in blue
I follow your videos a lot. Thank you so much for making it so easy.
I had a query for Alison Mam.
I want to make the wooden frame for making the blanket. I want to know how much distance should I keep between each stick or nails and how many should I keep on all the four sides of the frame.
Can you help me with the measurements of the frame
th-cam.com/video/PWzSiMVankc/w-d-xo.html this is my tutorial on how i made my frame
Muy bonito lástima que no entiendo lo qe habla lo podrían poner en español gracias

I like to do this where do i get the woof
wool or yarn from many shops unless you mean the wooden frame. there is a link in the description to Rose Hill who sells these.
Muito lindo só que não entendo nada deveria ser traduzido
How much distance between each nail . please give me information. After seet this video i want to make a pom pom mat
one and a half inches I have a tutorial on making the loom frame on my channel have a look through all my pom pom blanket tutorials.
Is it possibile to make this blankiet much bigger - 180x160cm?
you will need to make a frame 4 in bigger than the size you need. they shrink a little when you take them off the loom frame. Here is how to make the frame. th-cam.com/video/PWzSiMVankc/w-d-xo.html
Hi do you have a video of how to do and pom pom pillow on a loom thank you
What is the tool called that you are using to do the tying?
fishing repair net needle or shuttle
where did you get your loom
