@@stepanpicka 2x is the only way i live. But also it's unfortunate that for lowko even if we do watch it later it does tank the analytics and that does have an impact on other videos' performance.

Serral and Oliveira's strategy is for Oliveira to sacrifice his early game for Serral's safety. Maru noticed this and kept targeting Oliveira. This games shows just how powerful Serral is. Solar is 4th best Zerg, yet the gap is so huge in their gameplay.
Just shows how terrifying Serral's Macro Zerg is.
The game when serral held fire on the lurkers, waited for the full surround and absolutely crushed the joint army of Maru and Solar was an absolute master class. Up to that point they were behind nearly the entire game. Just incredible to watch.

2v2s are so fun and chaotic.
I was curious per aligulac stats Serral and Time's average rating is 3198 and Maru and Solar's is 3233.5 as of the day this video was posted. So that's a really close match up basically almost all of the top ten have a wider gap between them. I was thinking that Time being on Serral's team would be really unfair for Serral, but honestly averaging things out it appears that he should be a large enough handicap to make the game competitive. And since the game went the distance that was apparently correct.
I'm not sure if it exists, but I want to see Serral and Reynor vs Maru and Byun. 3392.5 vs 3396. That should be a match up for the ages. 3.5 difference lol. Plus the two best Zergs and Europeans vs the two best Terrans and Koreans. Would be one hell of a game.
Serral and Reynor suck in team games, from the past Archon and 2v2 games I've seen of them. They're too individualistic. There was an Archon game back then with Serral, Reynor, and one other Zerg in the same team and they lost a few times vs a lower ranked team. Serral and Time works because TIme is supporting Serral, with Serral the carry of the team. I doubt if Serral and Reynor would work well at all.

Breaking news: a polar bear from a local zoo in Switzerland got loose. Lowko fell off a mountain while skiing, and instead of hitting the ground instead landed smack dab on that escaped bear, and broke his ankle in the process. In spite, the bear did eat him. Feeling bad about the situation, the bear, named lowfrost, will be taking over the channel. He expects to start new videos by the end of the month. Rip lowko, long live lowfrost.

as for ideal time of your casts, ideally for me is always at least a 20+ min game everyday from proplayers (im disapointed when i see sub/viewer submitted games when i come home from work, maybe when u do a sub viewer cast you could do it live / 1 take and do a pro player game 15mins ish so i got something to watch everyday :D)
Id love to see a 1h+ game every week or two, maybe tagged differently so i can browse them separatly
The best way for 2v2 to win quickly, imo, would probably be if only player 1 builds tech and production buildings, does not expand, nor builds more than 22 workers, and their team mate player 2 is basically just expanding to give the money to player 1. Player 1's army should, I think, then, far exceed the opponents combined army in the early game.
Serral and Olivera had some epic army movement and teamwork in the 2nd and 3rd game especially. That was fun to watch
So idk your analytics but these 2v2 casts seem pretty popular.. and I personally love them. More please 🥺 *edit* I know 'pros' don't play as much 2v2 but there are highly skilled players that play a lot of 2v2, and are maybe even better at that particular meta than the pros. Maplez, rocker, meomaika, astrea, practicex are all people I find myself playing against in the 2v2 ladder. Revive 2v2!!
I still don't know why, but yellow and orange zerglings trigger my tryptophobia, but no other zergling colour
2v2 maps should NOT be so big. Smaller maps will make for much more interesting games

I remember how I've got together a group of 4 and we went into 4v4, all Terran.
3 of us went quadruple rax marine rush
1 of us went double rax marauder rush
we won 10 games in a row and mined so much salt I am still using it in my cooking even after a year after the games.
still using that mines salt. it just ain't running out!

The obvious recommendation would be the DPG/Seliveira bo9 finals. I do kind of recommend watching the live cast version of some of these games anyway if only to see how cheerful the players looked in their web cams and also the occasional team chat you could hear. Serral's "I am very poor now" line was particularly excellent.

As one of your lurking viewers here who comes and go now and then in your channel and with your videos, I want to let you know I appreciate your content, long or not as long as they are interesting games in your opinion. I know not every match is gonna be 10/10 but as long as its entertaining and exciting enough in your opinion, I will watch them if I have the time and need for good SCII matches.
Also, I am one of those who does not skip or NOT finish your videos, I tend to watch until at least gg is called. Just to let you know that there are a few of us who appreciates what you do regardless of what the stats from YT show.

Speaking of sharing economy, share resources to go mass muta, support with medivac, would be a viable strategy?

About 10:00, Lowko mentions that the strength of these players are lower in team mode. In my experience that's true, but the mmr standards of the game seem to be way lower. I'm just barely in D3 in 1v1, but I'm close to D2, 500 mmr higher, in 2v2. That in spite of probably playing worse in 2v2 with 50 games of practice compared to maybe 1000 games of 1v1.
I had the most epic comeback against the IA (:V) Im playing the evo mod relieving my 8 year old experience playing bw. Im playing on elite difficulty because I suck too much to play against people but im too good to have a challenge against IA. Well The IA knowing this decided to randmly go all against me at the same time, I forgot about this litttle cheesy tactic from bw so was caught withouth my pants looking at Kerri... ejem the thing is the map I was allowed me to run against the wall holding barely the 2 first waves. But then the third came and I had 2 tanks, just as I watched in horror how everyone was dying in front on me powerless against the mighty of the teal protoss (also known as the coward who waited everyone died) their pride blinded them and decided to walk away (I think the red terran as traitors as they were decided et oattack their base and they had to go back). Long short story I crawl back, mass tank goliath allowed me to hold until the main battlecruisers army came to our rescue and we saved Khorhal, Mengsk never had to become a psycopatic rebeld and Kerrigan was succesfulyl kept alived. Anyway, Great video to have in the background

And that's also why Starcraft 2 isn't more popular. Not every player just wants matches to be decided on hand-eye-coordination.
While I still think this is more fun to watch than 1v1, they really didn't exploit the full possibilities of 2v2. Not only do resource exchanges offer a lot of cool possibilities, there's a lot of multi-racial synergy that you can't exploit unless players focus on doing what their race does best and supplying the benefits of it to their teammate(s), rather than operating independently.
For example, there should've been far more Medivacs out there in these matches, with the "extras" healing Zerg. Even if Medivac accompaniment (which can dramatically enhance the potency of some Zerg units) is entirely out of the question due to unit control issues (not sure if the ways around them make sense for pros), post-battle healing alone can often substantially improve Zerg players' creep spread, army growth, and attack tempo.
Fantastic video, have been watching this match-by-match intermittently for the past few hours, in between cooking and playing other games. Love your voice and game knowledge, very good camerawork and commentary on the micro/macro splits as well! I know precious little about game strategies so hearing you say what should and shouldn't be done when the players do different build orders is so lovely.

Your MMR goes down when you play team games because you dont understand the build orders. Neither do the pro's...... I am plat 1v1 but master on team games. Truth is most people that play team games dont even know the builds i do even exist. I have 100 apm and routinely beat masters with 180 apm
I do love to see different modes besides 1v1, but man! Starcraft is already complex as it is. Following a 2v2 is _really_ difficult. Heck. I can follow a Free-4-All better than a 2v2 for some reason.

It would be cool to have a more popular 2v2 pro scene, maybe where there is a 3rd person who's more of the general overseeing the wider battle and directing the players so they can focus more on execution. There must be some truly crazy synergies between different races. Something like Broodlords + Mothership would be hilarious.
One side got the last two Katowice world champions, was it even a fair matchup? jk, when I first watched it I was thinking that Time/Oliveira wasn't qualified to even be in this 2v2 matchup.

For the record Lowko he is not called "Olivera" is Oliveira. There is an I in the name that differentiates the Spanish surname "Olivera" and the Portuguese one "Oliveira". Just saying cause it happens to be my last name ass well.

A once well known animation channel changed their TH-cam name from sexualWalrus to GreasyTales and lost huge numbers. So i can understand your stance on changing your name once it’s established as a “brand” being a bad decision.

Can't pass the occasion to say, regarding my dear Switzerland, the "mascot" of the capital city, Bern is a bear, and they have some, or at least did. But very few to none in the wild.
on the creep spread, 2v2 is already A LOT to deal with. twice the unit counters, more fights, bigger maps, combos like scan into nydus you're not used to, etc. spreading creep is just another thing to deal with. add that there's a zerg on the other side that's also getting a movement speed buff and it's an easy thing to just let go of in the match
Yeah changing your name is not a smart Idea when it comes to marketing. Imagine you have a famos company and then rename it "x". xD

I was wishing the pro players would share resources and control over each other's units. This, as lowko's said feels more like a 2 1v1s rather rhan 2v2, couple months ago there were another 2v2 series which scarlet played there, and in that game her team had proper, and fun 2v2 strats. They also looked like they had a great teamwork

Olivera just slowed down serral in creep and expo department, just double serrals suplly cap and he could easily 2v1 dude was sick he carrier hard.
Don't worry about duration if its multiple games like best of 7 for instance. People can easily stop watching after 1 game if they want.
lowko. on 2v2 it would be helpful to have the scoreboard colors match the minimap colors in a left vs right layout, instead of top to bottom. since the teams are displayed beside each other on the scoreboard, rather than stacked on top of each other, as in 1v1. watch you daily! great content

I think there is a lot of great potential in these 2v2's. The trick is you need to develop a proper TEAM and play as a TEAM. These Pros are masters of their 1v1's, but a bit out of water in terms of the potential Team vs Teams could have. Team Competitions could easily be a completely different Meta if it got developed to the same level as the standard 1v1's. This would mean more prize money for Team plays to drive Team Players to work together for the money. But is SC2 a bit too 'old' for that?
That's the sad part of SC2. There really does not need to be a 3rd. No point. But the appeal to an old game is hard to market vs a new one. I new bad game is worth more then an old great game unfortunately.
