Cat with thumbs No, I didn't. Please don't think that I am criticising buying from a breeder but I realised that for me, adopting a cat or a dog in need from a shelter (high kill shelter preferably) is the right thing to do. My remaining cat - Dawn is very unwelcoming (put nicely) towards all other animals so don't know... I rescued two cats this year from the streets ( babies/9 weeks old). Fed them well, provided them with veterinary care and found one great home and the other one is being rehabilitated cause he was extremely scared of people. Currently I am feeding an adult cat outside and made her a shelter. I plan on trapping her and getting her to the rescue shelter. There are just so many loving kitties on the streets and shelters that need homes that I just refuse to pay hundreds of dollars for one. Both of my cats were born to a stray mother. They are Maine Coon/ domestic long hair mixes and they have been such a blessing. In my eyes they are most beautiful. They have brought me so much love, joy and happiness. When I brought them home at 4 weeks of age they had mites, were malnourished, had their BM up to their nose. Let me tell you... even though they were free they are priceless. My boy - Angel died in February and I would give up on the rest of my life if I could have one more minute with him. Ragdolls and pure breed Maine Coons are awesome but my heart steers towards the unwanted ones :-) Alaska is developing beautifully. I really enjoy watching him. Thank you for uploading :-)!

TheViolet76 You are right about rescue kitties, my other cat etty she is a rescue cat (black and white moggie). When we first got her she was very slim and quite shy but over the years she has become more affectionate, she still prefers to not be around loud guests but compared to before she has made major improvement, now she is queen b and puts Alaska in his place.
When i take Alaska for walks etty comes a long too without a leash just to make sure Alaska is ok, she meows a lot to me and always shepherds us back home its quite funny.
If i could get a rescue maine coon that would be the best situation, but its more likely in the US then here, i don't agree on paying money for pets personally but after having a maine coon once its hard to resist getting another.
For now etty and alaska are enough for our family, as cats are quite solitary animals and prefer their own company unless they grew up from kittens. Etty and Trex my old mainecoon had a lovely bond together as we got them the same time both young, but now Etty prefers the quiet life she's nearly 7 so befriending Alaska isn't an option, she likes him as long as he doesn't bother her :)
Yes you're right about the satisfaction of doing good and literally saving the cat. In the UK we dont have kill shelters thank God. You are a beautiful soul so keep it up :)
