- Hi Everyone, in this video I show how to replace your rear shock absorber from start to finish.
Note: This is without the AVS Actuator, but is still the same process. You just need to figure out how to disconnect the AVS actuator sensor and the actuator bracket. Other then that, everything else is the same process. I hope this video will help some of you DiYer's. I know the video is 1:00 Long, but you can skip here and there, hope that doesn't discourage you from watching. Thanks for another video, have a question what is that round thing next to the springs with the nut in the middle?
are you referring to the top hat? where there's 3 nut and the center nut?
Original name for the top hat is called a strut mount.
What if I just cut a hole up top? Instead of removing all of this to replace the shocks? I did the same with my e36. Let me know your opinion please.
Hey guys, I was doing the front shock absorber replacement today and found out the part number for the front is not the correct Part, I will have to return it to PartsGeek.com. I will find out which is the correct part number and refer back to update you guys. Sorry about that, I will still post the Diy's for the front because I did the whole process and didn't find out until the last minute. I failed to compare the new shocks to the original before disassembling the original.

@@neth4x I'm glad the tutorial is helping you, as i mentioned in the description for the front part number, I believe the 551130 and 551131 will work for your 2016 is200t, for some odd reason they decided to change the design for the 2017 is200t, they changed the bottom part of the shocks, now the 2017 is200t has a "U" shape where you install the bolt instead if the round cylinder where it slips between the lower control arm and install the bolt. Check if the bottom of your shocks are circular or "U" shape.
This comment i just responded is for the front P/N 551130 551131, the rears are the same, P/N 554004 I think, but just check the video again. At this point I haven't found any KYB's for the 2017 is200t yet :(
