Still $2.19 a dozen here in the Midwest.
Shortage or not, the prices will never come back down as long as people keep buying them.
I paid $7.99 for a dozen in my little mountain town. The produce section was 90% sold out because of people coming up for the snow.
The world is not balancing out; people around the globe suffer while Americans vastly overconsume. It seems the wealth always goes to the same handful of people, no matter what bill, or order is passed.
thats been true all throughout history there has always been one ruling empire and the rest of the world are peasants...one to rule them all, today it snot as extreme with many wealthy people all around the globe and millions living happy fruitful lives outside of the US but yes someone has to be on top and that top is always greedy...it wont last forever though someone else gets a turn next after the US either Russia or China is my guess...
If you think tariffs correlate to egg prices people in the comments you need to take some meds and read up a bit.
Thats is correct, there was a bird flu in 2024 killing millions of hens thats what we are told causes the egg shortage and driving prices up...nothing to do with trump nothing to do with Biden nothing to do with tariffs...
Ya, I know, it was a response to the other comments blaming Trump not you. Meant for the brain handicapped only, lol.
Coping hard 😂
For real this has nothing to do with DJT and his administration, you can blame Biden for the prices and the tariffs have nothing to do with our farms here especially when it comes to cattle and chickens
I feel like the bird flu is/was and over reaction and the plan was to starve us out Soviet style. Thank God Kamala didn’t win. 😅
It doesn’t take very long at all to rebuild the chicken farm population and therefore decrease prices so long as we support our farmers which I am confident Trump will do. 🙌
Crazy here in Massachusetts too.had chickens but bear got to em getting more in the spring.
In Puerto Rico, medium eggs pack of 8 the price is $8.99 from USA.
“Smart people”. Lol. When we lived in TX, we bought chickens. $1,000 & 6 months later, we had our first eggs. Owning chickens is a hobby, not a money saving strategy.
well it depends if they are farm animals or pets lol...coops are not that much, maybe $250 for a nice medium size movable unit, then you can buy hens ready to produce eggs right away for $50 each or less...so lets say you pay top price and buy 10 now your into the hobby at $750ish...now hens actually eat like goats lol you can feed them ALL kinds of stuff including meat in fact they LOVE meat you can find roadkill and give them that along with regular food scraps and mixed in actual feed if you want for constancy...but feeding them can be a low cost venture...google said hens lay between 10-365 eggs a year lol so lets say its a bad year ever year and your 10 hens only produce 100 eggs each thats 1000 eggs a year..so your first year you spent like $900-1000 and you got 1000 eggs that means you paid like an dollar an egg, sucks lol, BUT next year food costs and maybe buying a hen or 2 that dies costs you more like $200...you still get those 1000+ eggs now making them cost $2.40 a dozen which is what they are suppose to cost lol...now if your production is better you get them even cheaper, questions how may eggs do you need? do you start selling them as a side hustle and if so it can start to become profitable...now even in texas im sure its cold in the winter so you have to get a heating source for the cold months which adds cost too..But you get what im saying it can be cheap with big benefits or it cna also be done the expensive harder way where people tend to care for them like pets not business...I love animals its hard for me to think about owning them for food production but id def get a chicken coop and hens for eggs when I retire and have more free time...IF I live long enough to retire lol...Also the biggest thing is when you have your own eggs they store for 2 weeks unrefrigerated ands then more months in the refrigerator you just cant wash them...
@ Yeah, we started with a $250 coup from Tractor supply. Too small, & basically fell apart before the 10 chicks were old enough to lay. Lost a few to predators, & ended up having to buy a huge metal walk in cage to put around the coop to keep predators out. Feed, medicine, feeders, water systems, meal worm treats, etc. all added to total costs. We gave away more eggs than we ate. It would have taken years & several generations of chicks to break even, but we were doing it for the experience more than anything. Had a few cows too. We moved for work, gave the hens and new chicks away to a neighbor, slaughtered one cow, & sold the other. We have since had a child and plan on getting chickens again once he’s old enough to help care for them. Funny story about heating the coup during winter. This was during the big TX freeze several years ago, when it got down to single digits. I had a space heater in the coup, and those girls just roosted out in the cold with their feathers all fluffed up. Lol
That’s insane Jeff, so just a few hours and a border crossing away from you we’re getting a 36 ct flat of eggs for $9.45 CAD which is about $6.80 USD
to be fair that would cost over $100-$200 in gas though to get there, haha just kidding but it goes both ways, to think just a few hours and a border crossing you can walk around with as many guns and ammo you want legally...Also Americans complain we dont have free healthcare but thats becasue they dont know what free health care is like lol thousands of Canadians come across to the US to the best healthcare and also go to mexico for cheap healthcare...I think every single country has its pros and cons for sure based on how people want to live...the US egg price increase is from major farms losing millions of hens to bird flu...so theres just not enough to meet demand
@ I’m lucky i’m 45 minutes away from Buffalo. So its not an issue to cross the border to do a little shopping its like $40 in gas
@@SnyperMac1 yeah thats different lol funny you mentioned it though im getting my passport soon for a trip to Canada this year :)
@ that’s awesome!!
@cutlerylover great you xan finally expand your brand internationally kolonel
Still $4 a dozen here in OH... and we just lost something like 4-6 million chickens and turkeys to bird flu last week.
$5.50 for 12 or $8.20 for 18 in Moline IL
Yeah, it hasn't gotten any better yet, but, they can't just grow an egg-laying-aged chicken on demand. Farmers were forced to slay thousands of chickens due to bird flu last year. So, until chicks grow up, or we start importing eggs cheap, prices will stay high or rise. If people panic-but eggs because they think tarifs have anything to do with the price of eggs, things will get worse. Lol.
Glad I own an egg laying ostrich😅😅😅😅
I believe that I can get a 20 pack of eggs for around $5.50 here in Sweden.
Arizona ~For Grade A Jumbo White Eggs 🥚 it’s $6.89 a doz. ~ Crazy!!
Take Care Jeff ❤
UK here... £4.50 or $5.62 for a dozen decent quality eggs...... but they're slowly going up. UK now has nationwide controls on bird movements due to bird flu.
my 2 local stores are mostly out of eggs at my location in Dayton Ohio.
No one buys eggs as they used to but everybody panics when they can't!
Huh, never realized you were in my home area of NEPA. Recently moved to South Central PA, I'll try to reply to myself this evening when I get back from our grocery trip.
Same price in South Central PA, $7.50/doz for Giant brand.
@@GriffXJ thanks :)
Why are the brown eggs cheaper ?
And I bought a dozen Ex. Lg. Egglands best last time and they were at least a couple bucks cheaper also
The store brand Jumbos were over 7 bucks
Those are what I normally get
This is also in SE Pa.
It’s only $15 for 18 pasture raised eggs organic it’s not bad
How many eggs do you guys eat per day?
Probably like, 15 to 24 eggs a day
alot because eggs are like in most dishes
We get a dozen it usually lasts us about 2 weeks or so, we have 2 eggs each for breakfast but only on Saturdays or Sundays, eggs are used hardboiled in salads once in a while or for a batter or breading...
A dozen large eggs are $4.53 at Walmart in southeast Ky
Yup, Red State.
Hello from Northern Pennsylvania. I’m from Tioga County PA. It’d be cool to know what county you’re from. It might be close to me. Love your show. Keep them good vibes coming brother.
Pike county :)
$12 a dozen in CA.
1.99 for a half dozen here.
I dont buy eggs unless they're under $2.00 a dozen...right now they're $4.19 dz at walmart, but we have a discount grocery store that has eggs for $1.99 dz, about twice a month.
Wow thats crazy. I can get a dozen large eggs for 3.50 Canadian so about 2.50usd
$7.99 here in NH. Up about $3 from last week. It's getting ridiculous.
Laying hens are next to nothing. $100 and a weekend you can build a coop. Free eggs after that
I aint freaking out rarely do i eat eggs 😆
You need to checkout the swiss teck wurdig, its a 30 walmart knife that has people saying they will never buy another Benchmade.. just picked mine up and strongly agree...
Not a concern for me when I have laying hens and I have a duck that lays as well
9 bucks a dozen here in Southern California
$3 a dozen in OK
$3.58 a dozen Pluglisi Farms large eggs at Lidl ,here at the New Jersey Shore .
Paid $4.12 a dozen at Sam's buying two dozen at a time this weekend in Nebraska.
I see $3.99
I have chicken so I'm not worried about it
been thinking about having a few quails like Shawn Woods
24 eggs in Canada is 9.15 regular and around 7.25 on sale typically. If anything they got cheaper during this bird flu outbreak
Glad I don’t eat eggs!
$8 In Colorado
How much is a chicken? Problem solved.
Grade A large - $4.19 for a dozen, south Texas.
You all have it good still, Family dollar in nowhere Nevada 9.25 doz. for cheap ass nowhere eggs, I'm told Kali has 9.00 a doz .for average, 12.99 for good ones, and of course all of what you said in the video whiles I was typing!
R eggs r over 8 dollars a dozen I’ll never buy eggs again
That’s just gouging that’s not tariffs
This bird flu thing seems to be happening every single year!
lots of conspiracies around any big event...
$13 for 18 in ct
What is This about? German here.
bird flue is killing millions of hens making the production of eggs an all time low so prices are going up and availability is going down quick
@
That sucks
Just got 30 eggs for $9.78can at walmart in montreal!
What is this about? Eggs been up for a long time. $4.53 in Texas...Red State freedom, not blue 🗑️.
this isnt a political thing at all there was a bird flue outbreak last year that killed millions of hens affecting the egg production in the US greatly...I dont think the prices are based on the states political lean...
🤡
The way red states are run absolutely correlates to lower prices everywhere bro, $2.47 gas and $4.00 eggs in Texas is 100% because of political reasons.
@uniform1313 Nothing has changed. What are you talking about? Eggs went higher, and gas fluctuates a few cents up and down, just like when Biden was in office. It's definitely still 2.79 in my town.
@@-BakedInDaBarrio- I'm talking about State level.
Don't worry, Trump is going to fix everything.
im not sure how Trump can bring back millions of Hens from the grave to lower egg cost LMAO...I also dont think even the most hardcore right extremists actually believe that Trump will ever have the power to fix all of Americas problems but I do think they believe he will do a good job though just like I believe democrats are convinced he will ruin the country...
@@cutlerylover WTF, hens don't lay eggs in other countries? If there is some kind of egg tariff, a temporary suspension of that would be a good idea til the U.S. hen population recovers.
@@HelmutDoork well if millions of hens die quickly it effects the amount of eggs hatched for the whole world...so overall less eggs now the supply chain is more detailed thins I know of how many of the eggs in the US are produced in the US how many are shipped here ect Im not sure off...all I know for sure is we had a lot now we dont worldwide lol
