Hi Steve. You doing a good job on the van mate, it looks absolutely mint. Thanks for all the videos especially throughout this rubbish year, I know a lot of time & effort goes into them and it’s appreciated. I Hope you had a good Christmas. Happy New Year to you and your family and stay safe. Regards John
🙌Thanks John! That means a lot 👊. Yes I prefer to make videos so less of them but more punchy is the way I like em 🤣. Happy new year buddy and see you soon with more vids 🤙
Thanks for all the vids Steve .I’d love to paint mine but not got the bottle to take them to pieces , knowing me I’d forget how they went back or balls up a sensor lol
Your welcome! Their are companies offering to carry this out as I saw another you tuber saying they had it done and put an R decal on it👌. Worth googling 👍
Thanks for doing that video Steve as I did mention it to you back in Sept/Oct time. Your videos have been an inspiration to my T6 and it’s coming along nicely now. Sorry but my callipers are going to be Petronas turquoise/green🤣 Here’s to 2021 All the best Rich
Hey Rich, Yes I made the video 😁. I didn’t have a full textbook of footage to use but enough to make a video 👍. Turquoise sounds great! And it’s personal to the van 👌.
Howzit Steve ,txs for showing us your " Know who " with the VW Transporters I am in South Africa and we don't have any kind of accessories , and I like your spoiler ,will be possible to send me details where you got them please Regards Emanuel Maria
Hi all the way to South Africa!! I am glad to see my videos make it out to you :-) My front splitter/Spoiler is a main dealer part as the come on the sportline version from factory so I purchased it from the VW main dealer parts department here in the UK. unless you were meaning the additional lower black splitter that was an aftermarket part from Vanstyle UK.
@@SteveField Thank you for these vids Steve. I follow a few channels and since yours popped up I’ve become hooked. Love your van. Real stylish. I’m looking to buy but not until pension comes through and unfortunately that’s not for another 5 years. Thanks again and keep up the great work. K
@@kieranharriman7055 thank you for sharing, nice to hear your plans for the future! and I’m really glad you enjoy the content! I will continue to bring van related content. 🚎
Yet another awesome video Steve. We did ours during the summer whist it was hot and they still look fantastic. Hope you and your family have a great New Year, see you on the other side 👍
Thanks buddy 🙌. Yes I think this lockdown made calliper painting one of the most done mods! Only time people could devote a full day to doing it and so many people now have cool callipers 🤙. Happy New Year dude 🙌
They do look the nuts now mate and yes I'm definitely going to do mine don't know what colour yet I'm on a black and white theme 🤔have a good new year and take care 👍
Great video again Steve, was wondering as to insurance of the van. Do you update your car insurance company with every mod you do? Obviously wouldn’t want to be out of pocket in the event of an accident and a claim. Many thanks, Jim
Thanks Jim🙌. Yes I can confirm I have insured all of the modifications that need to be declared as I have gone along. sometimes I have called up with 2 or three as apposed to one at a time but dependant on the nature of the modification. I insure with A-Plan and they are very good with modified vans!
@@SteveField thanks Steve, do you find that they put a charge on your premium with every mod? I have a T6 and I can’t live with the awful standard headlights, I’ve seen you put both THQ DRL V2 and V3. Which one do you prefer? And which performs best driving at night?
@@jamescole2739 They have not given me any increase in premium which is pretty crazy but I cant say that would be the same in every case! I think the insurance might go down if you upgrade the headlights 🤣. I personally prefer the V2's but that is because of the indicator design & day light look of the unit but the actual driving lights and main beam are identical on the V2 & V3's but I would recommend getting their LED H7 bulbs when you order as they make such a difference!
Hi Steve. Firstly happy new year. Just a couple of questions....I've got a 10 month old t6.....my hubs are really rusty and horrible so have painted them have you not done yours? Mine looked terrible with my vossens as all you could see was rust. How are yours? Second, have you ceramic coated your van? Good video! How you finding the calipers down the line. Still pleased you painted them. Regards Stu
Thanks Stuart👍 Yes the hub material is super susceptible to rust on any vehicle. to be fair I didn't paint mine as I feel do a good job on the calipers and it pulls the attention to the caliper. I'm not a big fan of the hub drawing attention personally.
@@SteveField Totally with you there on the hubs drawing attention....looks shit. Thats why I had to paint mine as they were orange with rust. I would never paint them a vibrant colour instead I mixed silver and black hamerite together to make anthracite which matches my vossens so now the hubs have disappeared. Obviously yours aren't as bad as mine because I'm sure you would have done something with them. Have you done a ceramic coating on your van or do you just polish it often?
@@stuartarthur7876 Ah yes that's a great idea! should look like a factory finish then 👌. On the ceramic front, no i have not had ceramic coating done I am just a regular valet guy and I always use a decent shampoo to begin with (Maquires) and every few months all use a wax coat also from maquires but thats all really.👍
Hi. I’ve just joined T6 club. Fab video btw. I noticed you had a screen on top of dash, is that for rear/front cameras? If so, do you know the screen make/model? Thanks.
Hi Stu. 🙌thank you😊. And welcome to the T6 club!!👍. It is infact a front and rear camera system that I rigged up with a could of cameras and the screen separately that you mention. Screen came from ebay and is 3.5 years old already and works perfectly from a switch I mounted in the over head courtesy section. I will get the make of it when we get home as I’ve blanked the branding off the actual monitor
@@SteveField thanks. I’m thinking of connecting a rear camera that comes on with reverse light power and then a permanently on front camera on ignition power. Not sure how screen display would switch between the two though. Maybe the front needs to be on a switch which sounds like you have?
🙌. That’s true. The screen is connect to switchable front n rear cameras. Van has a total of 4 cameras with different viewing angles and that screen runs a splitter camera so I don’t curb it and another looks at the rear bumper/towbar for getting into those tight spots 😁👍
@@SteveField that would make a hood video 🤔. I'd be interested to see the setup & where you purchased the gear. I fitted an eBay reverse camera to my last T5 which was okay but Im reluctant to drill the tailgate on the T6 😬
Van looking better all the time.Do you have any regrets on something you done and wished had done it different?I got the v3s fitted but wish i got the all black Ltd edition unfortunately I didn't know about them at the time.
🙌 Thanks Buddy..... No regrets to be honest! I mean I swopped my V3 headlamps back to the V2's which was just personal preference but other than that no! I love it and driving it put a smile on my face every time😎
I need to do mine, but I'm not really looking forward to it and I'm certainly not going to do it until the weather warms up. Can I just ask why you removed the rear calipers and carriers to paint them but not the front?
Yeh I feel you. Def a fair weather Mod lol. Yeh I removed the rears because they seemed to be a good deal more clogged up with debris and the gaps are more pronounced than the front ones so I felt I needed to have better access to them. That’s the only reason really. 👍
Hi, Yes I did. 👍. The version 3 are a great unit and the head light/main beam part are identical but personal choice I have a soft spot the V2 indicators and the way they look in operation 👍. I have both videos on my channel 👌
I kind of agree, hence why I asked. The V3’s look great however I do want something in the old indicator area rather than a flat surface. I think I need to compare them in person first as all the auto settings on everyone’s cameras mean you can never really appreciate/compare them fully.
'Another subtle and understated mod' which makes all the difference. Happy New year Steve! :)
🙌Thanks buddy 😎. And the same to you 🥳

Sorry I’m a year behind 🤦♂️🤣
Another quality vid mate. Have the van and my Alfa’s Brembos to do this year and this helped a lot. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Buddy! I can recommend the brand of paint I've used as cant see any sign of fade and always cleans up well under jet wash.👍
