Oh. Yes. I just wanted to say thank you for actually showing the full range of options in this video. I can't believe how many timewasters there are on youtube where some yokel just plugs in and turns a pedal on and off without going through all the parameters. Six stars and three thumbs up for your sensibility (and detailed equipment notes!).
This pedal is very good, I don' t have a guitar, but I tried with a mini amplifier and a microphone and it gives the voice an effect like is far or from beyond, I love it.
I have this pedal and it's not bad- you can get some really nice 'bathroom/amp-in-an-elevator' reverb sounds, which I particularly like. Although I found very little use for the 'shimmer' setting, but that's not to say it's bad. What I found with this pedal was it had such a small 'sweet-spot' that you're constantly adjusting it, trying to find that tone you're sure you had 5 minutes beforehand. The best reverb out there in my opinion is the TC Hall of Fame. It is more expensive, but the extra £40/ $65 or whatever gives you a much greater variety of tones, all of which are very accessible. Every spot is a sweet spot!
@gearmandude I agree with you. I played a Hiwatt for a decade and have grown accustomed to a dry guitar sound. I think reverb has its place in some songs. I hate watching demos of an OD/distortion/fuzz pedal where they have the reverb cranked on the amp. I can't tell how the pedal actually sounds.
This thing eats up that crapy metallic sounding Boss Reverb Pedal. Mooer pedals are true bypass too, big plus. Having said that, NOTHING sounds better than my Earthquaker Devices Dispatch Master. It has reverb and delay in one pedal, is true bypass, and sounds SWEET!
I like it very 60-ish in sound, good for Psychedelic music. Whats that background sound at end of your promotion is that the pedal? "like Far Out Man", thats more then cool, thats Groovy
having a hard time choosing between this or the Mooer Pitchbox, think the shift mode alone might being the deciding factor when jamming out to AC/DC Van Halen or learning some GNR where half their songs are at standard pitch and the other ones are tuned a fret down, plus the harmony modes kick some ass too, but Im starting to dig the Shimmer effect on this one. what would you pick if in a one or the other situation GMD?
This pedal sounds good, but when you switch it on the level drops to a minimum for a split of a second, so when you're playing it's clearly noticeable, it's like a little sound gap. Besides, it drops the volumen 1db, so if you want to kick in this for a solo... man this is not the pedal for you. I recommend this pedal to someone who want to keep it on from the beginning of the song, not switching in between.
Yeah true, I've always felt that the pedals with the 'special' effects are the ones you aren't going to use consistently, you just find it's place within certain songs.. but they cost three times more as your overdrives and fuzz's you will use frequently haha.
Do you have this running through the effects loop? It's been a pain in the ass to find a good reverb for an amp without an effects loop! Thanks, gearmandude... Always good stuff, bro.
It's all for fun...I don't hate reverb. I used nothing but 70's Marshall heads and Bassmans for about 15 years, and just got used to the sound of straight, dry signal. Didn't have reverb on any of my amps, and now when I try and use it, I just can't take not hearing the raw signal. But I certainly understand it's uses and appeal...but it still sucks! : >
Mooer pedals are for the money fantastic. Here in the uk they are between £50-£60 very cheap for stompboxes. And the footprint is tiny. I say buy the best you can for your essential pedals and buy these for the less important sounds or to experiment or maybe even a smaller backup board.
I've been listening to alot of reverb pedal demos. This one seems to leave the dry tone very unprocessed; the boss and hardwire stuff really digitally alters the dry....but I imagine your personal preference for dry tone probably made you lean toward dialing that in more
Amen 🎶👾🎶 Playing an instrument with a complete disregard of the sound effect you've just added, seems (and sounds) senseless, unmusical, and - more importantly - in no way does it showcase the potential of the effect. Many musicians who showcase gear are well aware of this fact, and on to their channels we go 😁🎶
It isn't a 'bad' pedal, but there are plenty of others who do the shimmer better. The problem is the shimmer here is a 5th up and not octal, which means it can clash with your playing if you are not careful.
U sound nice here on the eastern intro..masked stranger, your pickin skills brightening my day, And no, I WON'T mention Jack Black,I'll be the first guy who.. Ah shit, too late.
I was waiting 4 him 2 say it but he let the pick do the talking, definately a GMD catch-phrase. P.s I dont think it sucks, esp if you use it so sparingly that you cant really hear it.
The Blue Sky is a cool pedal, but to be honest I think its over priced... Mr. Black has the "Eterna" which is a shimmering reverberator that is cheaper. the Blue Sky has more options though that is ture its credit if you use the wide range of options but if you only use the one setting it is a waste
Laws of the band Rush: Volume 2, Book 7, Verse 8 -- and yay verily, did He use-eth thy holy reverb, and the Lord did grin, and the angels did cream their Skinny Jeans verily, and the golden Chipmunks did frolic amongst the glen, and gather acorns in their chippy cheeks, and delighted upon the blessing of unicorns.. amen.
stuck at fifth, i own it and i was a bit upset about that. But to be honest, what you hear in this video is pretty much what you hear in real life (like around the 0:50 mark of the vid)
I bought this crap last year and it is the worst shit ever. All three of the reverb types sound artificial, metallic, cold and unmusical. It is impossible to dial in a sound that is usable ... DON'T BUY IT !
The shimmer is just absolutely beautiful in this

years of seen your demo videos and years that you convinced me to buy new stuff
THANK YOU GEARMANDUDE!

i got one of this and i use for my moog synth and it help me a lot for some amazing spacy sounds.
I've never felt hatred for a a guitar pick before I saw this video. I might have to buy this pedal though
What a badass pedal man! I like it. Thanks buddy
Thats a good review. It covered everything I wanted to see.

Great demo you sound just like jack black.
He REALLY does sound like JB! =O Only noticed after I read your comment. Haha
1:00 Maannn I love that sound!

Does anyone have any problems playing chords with this pedal? Just because the shimmer effect harmonizes in fifths.
Reverb > Distortion xD
Great review! I'm considering buying this pedal!
Do you have this running through the effects loop?
It's been a pain in the ass to find a good reverb for an amp without an effects loop!
Thanks, gearmandude... Always good stuff, bro.
man hows their Ensemble King Chorus? Lookin for a replacement since i cant seem to find where I put my old Ross chorus

Great Demo. Thanks!

qual é esse pedal?

hey hey, is it a good choice to acoustic guitar?
First you need to learn how to play with shimmer!
Amen 🎶👾🎶 Playing an instrument with a complete disregard of the sound effect you've just added, seems (and sounds) senseless, unmusical, and - more importantly - in no way does it showcase the potential of the effect. Does it have volume drop??
Andree Pisano yes
Andree Pisano yes T^T
Probably because people requested him to do a demo of it. Besides, read one of his replies.
Demo of a reverb pedal with a REVERB SUCKS pick.
Only gearmandude. Love his stuff.

good, i like the clash
I just bought one of these earlier today.
I want this pedal so badly D:
Understandable. Everyone has different tastes. I think it's best for soaring leads.
10 out of 10 for the pick, that made me laugh! Interesting little pedal. I use the line 6 verbzilla to similar effect.
U sound nice here on the eastern intro..masked stranger, your pickin skills brightening my day,
And no, I WON'T mention Jack Black,I'll be the first guy who..
Ah shit, too late.
Cheers Eric
If you want reverb use springs!
Everyone who likes reverb has told me this is amazing, everyone else says it's the worst pedal Mooer have brought out haha, who do I trust! :')
love the pick X'D
😄dude gotto try a revstar
Cool pick ;)
I was waiting 4 him 2 say it but he let the pick do the talking, definately a GMD catch-phrase. P.s I dont think it sucks, esp if you use it so sparingly that you cant really hear it.
That shimmer effect is in fifths or something, not octaver, shame.
That a lot of shim!
Wow!
😍😍😍😍
😘😘😘😘

please make a video reverb comparison this pedal vs holy grail!
Laws of the band Rush: Volume 2, Book 7, Verse 8

+Mike Cronis :)

@davidwantsahug Ageed. Can't rationalize buying a boutique modulation pedal that I will only use on 8 bars of a song!
nice!
I thought you didn't like Chinese made guitar equipment?... no biggy, it sounds good
this guy sounded like jack black ?
who cares? it's video about a reverb pedal.
the question mark only goes at the end of a question
This guy has to produced thousands of videos. I think he's heard this enough..
Yeah, he sounds like Jack Black?
who is john flack?
Ah I see, most people I know like the pedal and say it's useful.. but they've all saved up for Strymon Blue Sky's haha.
Why is every demo of a pedal done on a Strat? Not all of us play Strats. So sick of the out of phase thing.
I bought this crap last year and it is the worst shit ever. All three of the reverb types sound artificial, metallic, cold and unmusical. It is impossible to dial in a sound that is usable ... DON'T BUY IT !
Exactly what I thought when I tried one :/
lol what reverb would you recommend without breaking the bank?
+GibsonLesPaul2273 I got my line 6 verbzilla for $100 and I love it
I ended up getting the much praised rv-10 tri reverb, I find it a bit meh, its not the stunning reverb effect I read it was.
Agreed, same here
Cooles Reverb
lol.... nice pick and stompbox combo ...funny
"Reverb Sucks" ..lol, contradictory are we?
It's called irony!
For when you need to sound like you're playing in your bathroom.
***** stuck at a fifth, sadly
plectrum. lol
Totally sucks! BOSS COSM Fender sounds better for spring.
Mr.Black Eterna sounds 10X better than this.
sounds good. but worst player ever.
...reverb sucks jajajajajaj...
