    Here's an idea for the channel: do similar shoutouts (delays, overdrives, distortions etc.) and then create a pedalboard with Rebea's choices.

Maybe analog dry through has a thing to do with it as well, but mainly it's just the quality of the reverb sound that does it for me.
    Surprisingly, the reverb in the Avalanche Run v2 came second for me. Such a magical sound. I'm sure that if it had more controls it could be sold as a very succesful stand alone reverb pedal.

    Blue sky was sounding great. It's on the Spring that UAD is definitely the best of these. It's 224 Hall is better too. But, definitely Strymon has a knack for just sitting right, melding into the guitar tone. They're great with synths too. But on vocal or drums, I'd take the UAD. The UAD Del-Verb is the real bargain, since you are getting three great delay algorithms too, of types that work really well for guitarists. And the reverb tweakability isn't such a big deal on guitar, and in the studio you can shape it, pre or post. I'd like them to add a fully variable Reverb Decay for the algos in the app though. The Flamma FS-02 is a good budget pick, especially for ambient, nice Cave and Cathedral settings.

    Y'all should make an entire rig out of Bea's winners and try to create a song out of it.

    For me the JHS 3 Series was the winner, I liked it straight off the bat, good sound, simple controls and it beat off a lot of the opposition but is only £99 as opposed to £359 for Rabea's choice. On the other hand I don't have Rabea's ear or talent :):)

  • @Pab7osan
    @Pab7osan ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I know this is all just good fun but the Blackhole getting cut right off the bat seemed staged. Of course it's going to sound horrible if you have the Gravity cranked to 11. Lame.

    I’m not convinced Rabea would have picked the Blue Sky over the 3 Series had Lee not referred to the Strymon as the “France” of football.

    • @RhizomaticAssemblage
      @RhizomaticAssemblage ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not convinced Rabea has any strong opinions about football or football teams whatsoever - I certainly don't. If he was being influenced that way, he might not have booted the Eventide in round 1.

    Every single time the strymon bluesky came back on it brought a smile to my face... One day I will get my hands on one, but until then I think hearing Rabea play through it is good enough 🔥🔥

  • @thisguy2973

    I know brands like strymon and eventide can be amazing, but if I have to dick around with apps and computers to get everything just right, it’s too much. You may as well use plugins instead.

    Interesting video and the JHS Hall Reverb comes over very well in the final mix, but I've never seen a blind test where Lee gave away more clearly in advance what the expensive pedals were: that was a real shame.

    • @Scoots1994
      @Scoots1994 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He talked about them being complicated and favorites in the tournament but that was not directly cost. TC pedals are inexpensive and complicated and he said they were a favorite.

    I always loved the BlueSky, but I’m quite liking the new JHS Hall Reverb. It’s quite a good reverb when you back off the mix and bring up the decay, and at $100, it’s definitely cheap eats. I would pencil in the Americans as the JHS international football team.

    My two favorites were the two that took the top slot. That Strymon is just gorgeous, but I'd be more than happy with the JHS hall reverb.

    You must have the Walrus Fathom set to the hidden 5th setting that includes delay. There is no delay in the regular plate setting.

    Neunaber Immerse MK II, Keeley Hydra and Strymon Flint should have been on there.
    EDIT: am I wrong or was the Blue Sky set to Room while the following pedals were set to Plate?

    I wonder what would happen if Neunaber Immerse MK2 was on this list,
    it's plate sounds absolutely amazing..
