I have to admit, I love your videos, but I also watch them because of your accent! Love it!
Drink enough of that jack Daniels, and everything sounds shimmery.
This.
The pedal sounds good but i am just not a fan of the 5th up type of shimmer effect. I prefer the digitech supernova and istomp for shimmer effect. The room/hall and spring settings sound great for the price though
Damn, this chanel has changed SO much!
I'm in the market for a mini reverb pedal, and debating getting this one
Did you get it?
@karlchop yeah I did. It's okay for the price
I discovered Mooer few months ago and I think it's a really great brand. Will you make more reviews of Mooer pedals?
Sounds so pretty!! Nice riff from The Darkness too! ;)
i really like the mooer stuff, but my hustle drive died :( i loved the thing, but something's broken in there. i'll try to fix it, but while they sound great, look great and are priced great, they don't seem to be that reliable. maybe i just got a bad one. but i really hope i can fix it. it's one of my all time favourites for boosting.
Usually pedals get a little bit greasy inside after awhile, clean the contacts with some alcohol or something, try it, it might work.
greetings from the Philippines!
I have to agree, it's a fantastic micro pedal. LOADS of fun stuff to be done with such cute reverb unit
Bonus points: "I believe in a thing called LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE" hehehe. i miss that song! thanks for playing the verse and the chorus riffs. and yeah, that Jack Daniels mini bottle
more power! and keep posting videos
P.S. Have you tried the Green Mile? lots of folks say it's a great TS substitute
Sounds great. The shimmer in the back sounds quite sinister
Thanks for posting
Definitely enjoyed that Darkness bit. I recently got one of these pedals. I love it. How much do you actually use it?
Wait, one thing you forgot to mention. Isn't this the pedal quite infamous for it's shimmer is doing fifths, and not octaves?
That can cause problems in many chord-progressions!
Really nice sounding pedal, specially for it's size. Might have to add this to my set. Gotta say though, when you started playing "I Believe In A Thing Called Love" i lost it hahaha. (love that song)
Sounds very tasty. Love your videos Colin!
Dear Collin,
What's the point in buying analogue FX pedals, when you can get a digital FX pedal with hundreds of effects for just a little more? I'm confused... Grz&Thx!
zeldamage001 Did you ever get a solid decision on this? I've been trying to decide for a month now what to do about pedals.
I talked to some people, read some stuff online and I think there are a few points to be made:
- digital FX are cheaper and CAN sound great
- some people simply prefer the sound of analogue FX over digital ones
- when using individual FX boxes, it's easier to adjust the settings on each effect than when you're using a multi-FX pedal. In your bedroom, this doesn't really matter, but when playing live, you probably need to adjust the settings for every gig (due to acoustics, mixing, etc).
Currently, I'm only using the FX on my amp, which is good enough for practice. Ideally, I'd prefer a (metric) shitton of pedal FX. However, given my financial situation, if I'd want more FX I'd go for the most bang for my buck and buy a digital multi-FX pedal.
Note: this is just one guy's humble opion. Feel free to argue!
Is this any good for a surf type sound? On the official demo of this thing it's said to be able to reproduce some sort of surf rock sound, but in all the youtube demos that i've seen there hasn't been anything like it.
I'm curious about that same thing as well. I'm looking for a reasonable priced spring with some drip to it
Put aside the pedal, you thought about building a custom Flying V yet?
Colin when is the next time dana o harra will play?
is it better than toms line ocean verb? I want a mini pedal with shimmer but so many mixed reviews
That shimmer mode sounds more like Devin Townsend mode to me.
I have seen in one review this shim verb gives feedbacks on guitars with f-holes. Have you tested this in an acoustic guitar? Would it give same effect. Thanks!
There's also a question I have to make about the Shimverb: i read on some reviews that this pedal is a tone-sucker, is that true? And if it's true, is there a mod you can do to solve this?
You can hear that being said about any pedal to be honest.
I didn't notice any obvious negative effect to the tone, perhaps there is if you really look for it.
I think the positive affect on the tone this pedal provides well counteracts any negative there may be.
Thanks, your opinion was really useful. =) I already have a built-in reverb on my Vox amp, but I was looking for something that the other guitarist in my band (and maybe I, for improving the tone) could use.
3:08 is the darkness
i hope you get more content in the future out, i really like your videos eventhough i sometimes have a hard time understanding your accent
(im a german) ....
you played I believe in a thing called love, amazing. love you
Does it has a volume drop, right?
hi guys, can i use shimverb mooer in my violin?
No
sure you can, if it has some kind of pickup.
In an electric violin?
No, the world will blow up
The shimmer is in fifth - NOT octaves. This is a deal-breaker for me as I'm sure it is for many others.
I Want that!
The Darkness! Yes!
bugera 333xl infinium? What is that amp based upon?
basically a peavey jsx, which is based one the XXX, which is loosely based on a mesa recto. but it's quite far away from all of those, is much less close to the jsx than the 6262 is to the 6505+. imo it has its own sound, and a rather lovely one at that.
JACK DANIELS?!?! In Scotland!?! ok, hahaha! nice vids man!
Where's the Scotch? Dammit you're Scottish what's with the wimpy American whiskey? Love the videos man keep up the good work.
Must be a southern Jesse
