Song is called Edge Of The World by Jeff Broadbent. As far as I know it is a stock composition therefore is hard to find. People may want to upvote this comment so more people can see it and thus stop asking :)
I was watching the video thinking "if only the world could unite for space exploration, just imagine what amazing things we could achieve together!" and then I looked down and saw your comment! You are sooo right!
i love my home planet!! this video just shows me how meaningless wars are, we're all humans, one of the greatest civilizations in the universe and it's time we start acting like one.
Nicely done. I enjoyed the edits timed to the music. The music was a good choice, (not as annoying as the soundtrack used on many time-lapse videos). We live in amazing times.
You Sir are the kind of gentleman who knows his stuff. The problem with SSP is that the sails are more susceptible to be damaged by small particles and dust covering their surface thereby diminishing the effectivity , photons being absorbed instead of bouncing on it.
unas imagenes en verdad muy impresionantes, la vista desde el espacio en las imagenes donde ahi relampagos y los paises con sus luces encendidas, ESPECTACULAR... indeed some very impressive images, the view from space on the images where there lightning and countries with their lights on, SPECTACULAR ...
Keep in mind, part of the reason this looks so beautiful, is the lights of the man made city looking like stars. Its very easy to sit back and claim how destructive our behaviour is - and theres no denying that - however don't lose hope in humanity's capability to restore and preserve the earth's beauty. I see nothing wrong at all with the images displayed or what makes them beautiful.
It's amazing to me, to see the lights and see that we've made our mark in the universe. Wondering if there are civilizations somewhere that have the technology to see us, but not yet get to us.
This footage is INSANE. Why with modern technology can we not get this all the time? I mean like a fricking LIVE FEED! 99% of the time we get grainy black and white footage!
Fair point. I'm not proposing eliminating lighting at night altogether. Rather, just greatly minimizing it while still keeping things functional and safe. Look around next time you go to work... Ask yourself why the entire empty parking lot is illuminated. Or why the entire car dealership lot is lit up. Or why the sides of many buildings are blasted with light. Or why so many fixtures waste light that goes up and into the sky, when in fact focused light on the ground is what we need.
Light pollution, also known as photopollution or luminous pollution, is excessive or obtrusive artificial light. It is a term used to describe the introduction by humans, directly or indirectly, of artificial light into the environment. It has a real effect on nature and natural environments. For night-sky photographers and astronomers, light pollution affects the quality of visibility in observing stars, comets and other astronomic phenomena. Try googling it.
this is amazing. i'm so glad to be here on earth.

Earth is beautiful! Let's preserve it
It's definitely in the Top 8!
God's splendor. Love it
I care more for the beauty of the Earth than the politics of how we get into the sky. It's a shame not everyone shares that sentiment.
And that's it bro, I loved it😍
This is excellent!! Way to go NASA!
