Yess, Optimus Prime... who plays "Peter Cullen" here on Earth... & gives Voice to our Nature to Explore. Thank you. Just ...Thank You. That was awesome=)
Love it! So inspiring! The voice of Optimus is awesome but what is more awesome is that we (humankind) have achieved incredible wonders all in the last 100 years. Now we are ready to step past our forefathers' dreams and into our own dreams of our future. I know we have incredible things awaiting us everyday! My mom always thought I would go to space. I am 32 years old and I know in my heart in my lifetime I am going to see my planet from high above even if it is the last thing I ever do.
This video made me weep with joy, and with sadness that all of humanity can't get the idea through their heads and eons-old hatreds. That if we all worked together, life would be better for all, and we would be out there, dancing amongst the planets of our solar system, and the stars beyond. We have the potential to go farther than our ancestors and even some of the greatest minds of our past dreamed. It should be the priority of all of us to go beyond our world, and seek out new ones.
To me this is all about the quest for knowledge and innovation. For my parents' generation, seeing man walk on the moon was what encouraged many young people to become engineers, scientists, mathematicians, etc. While we may sometimes think that going to outer space is a waste of money and resources, the minds, careers, and technological breakthroughs spawned from the space program is immeasurable. I'll never be against funding imagination and innovation. Go NASA!
Maybe it's because I'm a huge supporter of NASA. Maybe it's because I'm something of a romantic. Maybe it's just Peter Cullen's amazing voice. Whatever the reason, this is an absolutely chill inducing video about why we are explorers, and a rally cry for why we must continue to explore new worlds. We've only just begun.
Dear lord, just do whatever Optimus says. This is the coolest NASA video I have ever seen, and it's the most generic one ever made. God bless you Mr. Cullen.
I completely agree. How can anyone in their right mind say it was uninteresting? Yes, perhaps the way it was portrayed was a little bland and a little too movie-trailer-ish for my tastes but the impact of each of the shots reflects the enormity of humanity's accomplishments in the last 70 years. I'm Canadian, but I will say this, "NASA, that was pretty damn impressive."
in college as a mechanical engineer major, wasn't entirely sure what i wanted to do until i realized engineers helped with NASA. now i wanna work with or for NASA, if possible.
Powerful video in and of itself. But if this video had been set to the tune of "Arrival To Earth" from the Transformers soundtrack... man... Tears, I tell you. TEARS.
0:25 pause the video and mute it open youtube in a new tab and look for the star trek enterprise intro. play the video and quickly go back here to unpause this video. enjoy.
Can you imagine being the son or daughter of Peter Cullen (narrator of this video & voice of Optimus Prime)? Breakfast would be inspiring. Dinner would move you to tears. Parent-Teacher conferences would be epic. I'd break stuff just to get yelled at. I hope he is now the permanent voice of NASA.
I've always felt this way. Hell, the opening to Star Trek: Voyager still makes me weep - literally weep - because we're not there yet. It shows us exploring just like this, and then brings it forward.
"That may be the most important thing to understand about humans. It is the unknown that defines our existence. We are constantly searching, not just for answers to our questions, but for new questions. We are explorers."
I know the Apollo record very well, thank you, and yes it is quite possible to get all the documetation, including the dreary technical manuals that no conspiracist in his right mind would even write, much less publish. I am, however, curious about these testimonies you mention: where can I find them?
Really cool video! We can be from different countries, but i think every single scientific achieve must inspire us as what we really are: the humankind. And we should go outside as that, an united group that shares the thirst for knowledge.
Showing this before a Star Trek movie is preaching to the choir, we really need to show this before all movies, get news coverage, take ad space. Get the word out. Its time to explore.
Wasn't there an AD on Toonami similar to this one? I'm sure i remember something similar to this with random clips of anime playing to a narration about us exploring space. i need to find it.
Sounds more like Don Fontaine. I've listened to Peter Cullen's voice overs and narrations over the years. (Voltron, Transformers, Knight Rider) His modulation is quite different.
Except it's from Gerorges Méliès' "Le Voyage dans la Lune" (1902). The Smashing Pumpkins only remade the whole thing for their clip "Tonight, Tonight". But, admittedly, the spoof was beyond excellent!
Not to mention the important part, going into space forces us to develop technologies that make Earth better. Healthier food that lasts longer, stronger materials to build better housing, new sources of energy and other resource. As well as a more educated population.
If Optimus says we must reach for the stars, we must do so. GOD his voice is epic! That is one of the reason Optimus Prime is my childhood hero! Maybe in the future when we explore other planets we'll discover a real life cybertron
So is the NBL called a green screen even though the walls are white? Just wondering the technical term when filming EVAs there. EMUs looking good guys but watch out for the PGT; those are a lot of money and I nearly dropped many. Though it was class III hardware. SARAH is so better than SETS huh? Even the troglodytes in stores agree.
The ocean's bigger than your country too, remember. We'll get a lot more exploring in every direction. Space is just one of the more valuable ones because, well, there's more out there than there is down here.
Peter Cullen's voice made this otherwise dull video great. But I still think Star Trek's Enterprise opening scene is more moving and meaningful! What say you?
"This is Optimus Prime, on Cybertron, and I hope to see you here someday soon."
Man, Peter Cullen makes everything sound just that much more epic. Great choice of narration.
I love the sentence"WE MUST GO!" so determined !!!
Yess, Optimus Prime... who plays "Peter Cullen" here on Earth... & gives Voice to our Nature to Explore. Thank you. Just ...Thank You. That was awesome=)
is that the voice of Optimus prime? =D
Yes. Peter Cullen.
Lots of tears everytime i see this
Every. Damned. Time.
One of those videos which gives you goosebumps, no matter how many times you watch it.
I've watched this video countless times over the last eleven years. The picture included already did, but not its message.
This video made me weep with joy, and with sadness that all of humanity can't get the idea through their heads and eons-old hatreds. That if we all worked together, life would be better for all, and we would be out there, dancing amongst the planets of our solar system, and the stars beyond.

OPTIMUS PRIME!!!!! His voice and imagining he is narrating this makes me want to listen ten times more.
Go NASA!
Optimus Prime is that you?
Maybe it's because I'm a huge supporter of NASA. Maybe it's because I'm something of a romantic. Maybe it's just Peter Cullen's amazing voice. Whatever the reason, this is an absolutely chill inducing video about why we are explorers, and a rally cry for why we must continue to explore new worlds. We've only just begun.
optimus prime should make every presidential speaks
Optimus Prime commands us to be assume till all are one!
I have seen this video 4 times already since its been posted and I get chills every time I watch it.
Dear lord, just do whatever Optimus says. This is the coolest NASA video I have ever seen, and it's the most generic one ever made. God bless you Mr. Cullen.
I completely agree. How can anyone in their right mind say it was uninteresting? I wish that Peter Cullen had more spots like this. His voice work for this is perfect.
I love Peter Cullen's epic voice. I just imagine Optimus Prime narrating this, and I get chills.
This put me to some very inspiringly happy tears. Amazing ad!
Standing ovation. Great great commercial.
Truly yours is an incredible argument full of concrete and irrefutable facts that I cannot hope to counter in any way.
YES !!!
WE ARE THE EXPLORERS AND GO AHEAD !!
in college as a mechanical engineer major, wasn't entirely sure what i wanted to do until i realized engineers helped with NASA. now i wanna work with or for NASA, if possible.
Outstanding, inspirational promotion video. Gave me goosebumps. Well done!
This is awesome! Can't wait to see it again when watching Star Trek.
Powerful video in and of itself. But if this video had been set to the tune of "Arrival To Earth" from the Transformers soundtrack... man... Tears, I tell you. TEARS.
FANTASTIC work! Bravo, Streeter!!
So many chills watching this, simply superb
What is the background music on this awesome video?
i like it!
but:
what is the tempo of background music? and, are there only the vocals available, without music?
Can't help but to put a smile on ones face!
This invokes the Toonami Shorts that also had Peter Cullen talking dramatically about an interesting idea...
And it is awesome for it.
It is in human nature to explore. We must always boldly go where no one has gone before.
It is an extraordinary experience for humanity and it must be continued...!
0:25 pause the video and mute it
open youtube in a new tab and look for the star trek enterprise intro.
play the video and quickly go back here to unpause this video.
enjoy.
Goosebumps... Everywhere
lovin the narration and voice!
Totally. We (science lovers) are lucky to have Dr. Tyson.
I got chills watching this video!
Does anybody know who the female astronaut at 2:18 is or what expedition she was part of?
chills and goosebumps at the same time
best NASA movie I have ever seen
I've always felt this way. Hell, the opening to Star Trek: Voyager still makes me weep - literally weep - because we're not there yet. It shows us exploring just like this, and then brings it forward.
ratio noob =)
"That may be the most important thing to understand about humans. It is the unknown that defines our existence. We are constantly searching, not just for answers to our questions, but for new questions. We are explorers."
"Small steps and giant leaps in that pursuit" Love that wordplay
I know the Apollo record very well, thank you, and yes it is quite possible to get all the documetation, including the dreary technical manuals that no conspiracist in his right mind would even write, much less publish.
I am, however, curious about these testimonies you mention: where can I find them?
I wish that every Human Being on this Planet, had the insatiable drive to explore the unknown. What a wonderful World that would be.
Cullen, with this you are redeemed for partaking in The Bay Trilogy.
Really cool video! We can be from different countries, but i think every single scientific achieve must inspire us as what we really are: the humankind. And we should go outside as that, an united group that shares the thirst for knowledge.
Goosebumps!
2 and a half minutes of chills!
If I was a millionaire, I would help out NASA. The work and discoveries are astounding!
love the narration by Optimus Prime. Very fitting. Cool Video.
This really hyped me up, only because Peter Cullen and his godly voice narrated this.
Showing this before a Star Trek movie is preaching to the choir, we really need to show this before all movies, get news coverage, take ad space. Get the word out. Its time to explore.
It's going to be in the theatres during movie previews, so the narrative voice fits the occasion.
Chills. Chills everywhere.
I can't wait for the webb man... like... i look forward to it daily..
Good luck. I hope you get to. I think every human being would benefit from seeing our planet from above.
Simply Beautiful
Wasn't there an AD on Toonami similar to this one? I'm sure i remember something similar to this with random clips of anime playing to a narration about us exploring space. i need to find it.
hey I know the game is polarizing but in the general theme of things I felt it was worth a rewatch of this during a run of Mass Effect Andromeda.
" Building castles in the sky "
So awesome...
: )
to say that i like this would be an understatement.
Does anyone have a link to the 30 second version that was aired before Start Trek?
Sounds more like Don Fontaine. I've listened to Peter Cullen's voice overs and narrations over the years. (Voltron, Transformers, Knight Rider) His modulation is quite different.
Except it's from Gerorges Méliès' "Le Voyage dans la Lune" (1902). The Smashing Pumpkins only remade the whole thing for their clip "Tonight, Tonight". But, admittedly, the spoof was beyond excellent!
This is surreal...something is going to go down.
Not to mention the important part, going into space forces us to develop technologies that make Earth better. Healthier food that lasts longer, stronger materials to build better housing, new sources of energy and other resource. As well as a more educated population.
I see a Kerbal with sun glasses. Awesome.
I like the 4 Vesta made it into this, although I doubt the general audience will have any idea what it is.
It's possible to do both at the same time, you know. There's no reason earth would be neglected while we also focus on space. People CAN multitask.
If Optimus says we must reach for the stars, we must do so. GOD his voice is epic! That is one of the reason Optimus Prime is my childhood hero!
Maybe in the future when we explore other planets we'll discover a real life cybertron
Is that the announcer from the Toonami anime mashups?
She is Tracy Caldwell. She is very admirable person.:)
Does anyone know the title and composer for the soundtrack?
Tears were shed..who is cutting onions?
title should read : "We are not the only Explores in space there are others"
The ocean's bigger than your country too, remember. We'll get a lot more exploring in every direction. Space is just one of the more valuable ones because, well, there's more out there than there is down here.
Awesome video. Also, Peter Cullen/Optimus Prime FTW!
Using the guy who voiced Prime to narrate this was the smartest thing NASA has done in the past decade.
who did the soundtrack?
Holy shit, peter fucking cullen!
EVERYTHING is right about this trailer. EVERYTHING.
Peter Cullen's voice made this otherwise dull video great. But I still think Star Trek's Enterprise opening scene is more moving and meaningful! What say you?
That's how I got here XD
They have an Indiegogo campaign to show this trailer in the theaters for the premier of Star Trek Into Darkness.
Optimus Prime is telling us to explore space so we can help him re-claim Cybertron, we must obey!
Anyway great video, I want to go to space.
I used it to explain NASA to my nine year old. I explained to my six year old it was a message from Optimus Prime :)
I want that song...where can I find it..?
Wonderful video!
the best vid this side of DEEP SPACE
The reason we must go is so that humanity can continue to exist.
Amazing, inspiring we need to stop fighting wars like primitive barbaric beasts and put our brains to a real challenge
Beautiful.
name of the song?
Optimus was working for NEST not NASA. right?
How do your points negate the poster's views?
