Great paint job! Really love the look of the painted on markings. I think I'll stick to the new HK b-25 in 1/48 when I get around to building one. A good tip I learned for spraying yellow is to first lay down a coat of pink an dthen paint the yellow underneath. Yellow appears to have very good coverage over pink.

whenever I shoot masked stuff that is pretty ornate, ill shoot a quick coat of the base color to seal the mask..this way if there is any bleed, it doesnt show. Also, i just use post it notes for masks. theyre even reusable a couple times

Fantastic work as always! Ugh I really need to start using my cricut and re-watch that video of yours on how to do it. Can't wait to see this one all come together

It takes a lot of practice with it to figure out how to work around its limitations. I’ve heard the Silhouette is better but I’ve never used it so I don’t have any personal experience.

Looking good as always. I’m actually got back to a B-25 in 1:72 from Matchbox and have the tailsitter issue, 25g (0.8oz) at the nose cone in such a tight space. Maybe your inspiration will make me to put the model in flight mode with the crew. Waiting to see the final result. Cheers.

It looks great. I tried to find out if the planes used in the raid were new aircraft or "used" ones. They couldn't have landed on the carrier so they must have been maybe shipped on board and assembled or assembled at the dock and craned on board. I was wondering this because of the degree of weathering that should be appropriate. I couldn't find any info on this with a quick internet search.

I’ve seen pics of them on them on the deck of the Hornet (both online and in books) and they are really weathered. I don’t know how they got them on the carrier. I think they freshly painted the props all black and covered up the engines while on the carrier to minimize the harm of the salty environment.

@@seanerk5kt9 So they were old airframes, and with the likelihood of filling them with salt spray and possibly not getting the aircraft back, it makes sense. Maybe the clean painted props is an indication that the props and engines may have been new as they had to get off in a very short run and would have needed all the horse power they could get.

You mentioned that at one point you had your pressure to high - what were the results of to high a pressure? I mean what was happening because the pressure was to high? I’m still trying to learn more about the nuances of airbrushing. Thanks and this will be another great looking build!!

I like to spray thin…meaning that I mix in more thinner than paint, therefore I need to spray at a lower pressure (10 psi with .35mm nozzle). Spraying at a lower pressure with a thin mix gives me more control over the opacity.

always love your videos. i have watched all of them. you are so talented but i hope its ok to be honest: the paint stuff is relatively easy for you and we've seen a lot of it before and as such its ok to watch but nothing new but its always fun to see so no problems, but i would like to have seen you battle with the tough build MUCH more. that would have been great to see: the struggles and you failing here and there, and shouting at the kit that would be great. you hid all the juicy stuff and we got the safe stuff. not a complaint just an opinion. maybe document the honest process rather than making an "expert 'how to'" imho. we love to see you do whatever but especially building a tough bastard model warts and all.

Yeah that would’ve been a good video but I didn’t have the patience to build it and film it at the same time

Aaaaah, that's a shame about the B17, I was looking forward to that, I am thinking of buying that kit, what exactly was the problem with the clear parts?
