My dad's favorite team. I still have a 66 Baltimore AL winning pennant on my wall. Boom the Birds!
    Love you Dad!

Chuck Thompson is a part of the legacy of brother in law Dennis Crowley's beloved Orioles team!

Incredible- they were a machine. So many highlights! Orioles had the best record in the majors 1966-1983.

Actually, from 1960 through 1985. More than a quarter of a century of Oriole excellence.

As Earl Weaver would like to say pitching, defense and the 3 run homer

@@seankennelly9691 This particular special has been in circulation among sports collectors for several years at least. This was the first time it was ever posted in full on YT. As to where it was originally found I can't say but it has been "out there" for a bit.

As I watch these highlights, I try to guess/imagine/remember the ballparks these ballplayers played in. Being a Tigers' fan, I love seeing clips from my home park, but enjoy seeing all of the other (now long gone) Stadiums. Classics all!

Unbelievable to see a young John Sterling, the long-time voice of the Yankees at 40:55 doing the Hofberger interview. Many PBP clips by Frank Messer who was a Yankee announcer from 1968-85.

Wow . What an achievement to beat the powerful Dodgers with Sandy Koufax and Don Drysdale.

This is awesome! I think this video contains the only surviving broadcast footage of the ‘66 World Series. Oh why did networks wipe tape back then!?

It was thought not to have any sentimental value plus the tape was bulky and not an worthwhile investment

The Los Angeles Dodgers did hold the Orioles to a .200 Batting Average.
Both teams played solid defense excluding Dodger Willie Davis' Game 2 defensive collapse.
The 4th run scored off Koufax during the 6th Inning, the only earned run, was set up by another misplayed fly ball, hit by Frank Robinson, by again Center Fielder Willie Davis and Right Fielder Ron Fairly which they let fall in front of both of them.
Frank Robinson's line drive was ruled a Triple.
Robinson then scored on a Boog Powell Single.
The Los Angeles Dodgers committed 6 errors during the 4 Game Series. All were committed in Game 2.
5 behind Sandy Koufax and 1 by Pitching reliever Ron Perranoski.
It's really a shame this series didn't go 7 Games.
Both teams were evenly matched and exciting to watch!
I watched Game 2 when I got home from school and was sickened at how The Los Angeles Dodgers let down their Ace Sandy Koufax.
Sandy Koufax was and will forever be my Major League Baseball idol!

The animated National Beer spots are cute, and are v/o'ed by Stan Moger.
A bit of trivia-National Beer was the longtime sponsor of Orioles baseball; fittingly, the then owner of the Orioles, Jerry Hoffberger, was also involved
      with the National Brewing Company.

It was a common site back then to see crowds of 10,000 or so in just about every city. The Orioles, as good as they were, drew very small crowds routinely.

Umpires in white shirts and ties! Remember that the Orioles were the St. Louis Browns, the worst and losingest franchise in baseball history when they moved east in 1954. In 12 years, they had became one of the great teams in AL history--4 pennants in 6 years (66 to 71) and 2 WS titles.

These members of the 1966 Baltimore Orioles are no longer with us: Steve Barber, Curt Blefary, Dave McNally,Sam Bowens, the man who
skippered the Orioles to that first world championship, Hank Bauer,
Paul Blair ,reserve catcher Charley Lau, Moe Drabowsky, and the AL Triple Crown winner and MVP Frank Robinson.

The line drive hit by Frank Robinson, in the 6th Inning which is not shown in this video, was misplayed Willie Davis and Ron Fairly and was ruled a triple.
Boog Powell singled Robinson home effectively ending Sandy Koufax's World Series Consecutive Scoreless Innings at 24!
