I think the funniest thing is that even GI players thought that this guy was speaking out of his ass and also called him out. It goes to show that not everyone is a bad apple, it's just that the bad ones are the ones you see more often due to all the attention they get from their shit takes.
Last time the community ask for fanservice, HG released a PTSD filled care-bears with cannibalistic feature. The fanservice is soooo little even in community if you look for nuclear codes you will be served with 97% Trauma, 3% Vanilla.
I really like how instead of sending insults, the Arknights Community just did a drip showcase of the operators. I highly doubt it would have the same outcome if it was the other way around, because you know how Genshin Twitter can be.
I thought mona was a hooker when I first played genshin, after I found out she was an astrologer or something that's short on money, my 'hooker' theory got even more believable
I can only see them mald over design censorship while Mihoyo's love child (aka Honkai) just goes ham. Well, except for that one incident in the global side of things in Honkai.
It always sounded like a buzzword for me. No one ever gave a standard so they could litteraly use it for everythin, thats why i dont take anyone who use hyper or over seriously
Tbh with the whole culture thing, Arknights does that too. It's just that due to the relatively modern nature of the scenario, designs inherently can't be as cultural because the setting is modern. There isn't as much symbolism we can gleam from what we wear, because we're living in the times, Save for the more immediate symbolism provided by uniforms or lab wear or smth.
That's not to say there isn't a kind of cultural thing "in-story", like, you can tell mostly who is Infected and who isn't depending of how much coverage their clothes give, or wether they deal with Originium a lot or not. It isn't a consistent thing, obviously, we do have stuff like a certain police officer walking around in a sleeveless shirt or a bodyguard in booty shorts, but that's more about their personalities... As for RL culture there everything having to do with Yan :D
Cultural doesnt have to be historical, since culture itself evolves alongside history. Arknights does have a lot of cutural references from all over the world in their outfit design. I can name a few like Rosa's skin Masterpiece referencing Elizabeth (the musical), Phantom and the whole IS2 referencing Phantom of the Opera/Masque of Red Death, Mizuki is a pacman reference, Istina's skin referencing a bunch of Agatha Christie novels and Russian culture (Sarafan dress, russian food on the table,..); Nightingales Elegy skin referencing Blood Meridian of Cormac McCarthy; Ethan referencing the steet art and antiwar/discrimination movement with the Berlin Wall. This is just naming some of the Western culture references, let's not even bother dive deeper into the Eastern side since that would be way too long. Saying Arknights design doesn't have much cultural reference just show that either you didn't play or just lack the knowledge to notice them.
@@lllllShjnllll Nah I understand that there are loads of cultural references. Saga is a Sohei warrior monk, Lee is a carp dragon, and so on. Like does most of Arknights base designs have those cultural references? No because the animal motifs are more given focus, which is always conveyed well. I acknowledge the culture that is in AK, I did that in the comments section of the Hero hei video about this. But, The symbolism of modern clothing does inherently lie within utility imo, which can make designs a bit more mundane. Like, tf, not notice the darn culture? Its not like one can write like literary analysis on every op and that's okay. Having characters that are standalone in their execution, like Weedy, Thorns or Irene or whatever does allow for Arknights design to not just rely on "member this?" or even worse not giving a f about the culture, like ayato in genshin not being a reformer, despite the meiji era garb.
@@cl0k3 @cL0k3 yeah even "cultural design" itself is already a problematic term because even modern clothing itself has history and culture impact that made it what it is today. So as long as the design are well thought out and the utility is reasonable I don't see the problem. If you wan to see "culture" in the design you can just do some research and educate yourself on fashion, even a simple button-up shirt has its own evolution over time. I was just pointing out that even Arknights got some deep cultural references in their outfits, so if they're complaining they're just not paying attention or lack education. And bringing Genshin of all things to compare to Arknights with culture references being the baseline is just plain stupid lmao.
Thing is, it's not a genshin thing, it's a twitter thing, I know a lot of people that love Genshin and Arknights. Twitter is a drama house full of kids that don't know what to do to grab a bit of attention, honestly, the best way to answer them is still to not answer them and not giving them attention they want. Or invite other people to try the game to make their own opinion, which is by far the smartest move. And also keep in mind, that kind of "polemic" is the same one as teenagers fighting for who is the better k-pop group, which pokemon is the cutest, or even what clothes brand is the best to them. Just don't allow yourself too fall for that unless you're one Edit: and honestly, more I'm looking at the twitter post, more I think the guy is just a troll
Personally, I feel like the problem is the community rather than Twitter itself. Sure, Twitter is not making it any better by making these easy to spread, but these dramas are mainly because of the users.
@@Zack_Zander I can't agree on that, I spend my time on reddit, and genshin subreddit is far less toxic than twitter, and often, when a toxic topic come to the subreddit, it come from twitter. Toxic people like systems that allow them to spread their toxicity, not thoses which can contain it. And also, it's inevitable to have with a such big community people who behave like that, but despite that there are other factor that can impact people behaviour and downregulate it, and twitter definitely have a bad impact on how people behave because it doesn't have a downregulation system. @Tsunul Yes that's the issue with twitter, it's nothing more than an echo chamber that create disproportionate disponibility bias. So You just need one guy to yell
@@runawayfromtoads674 AK may have it "easier" because they just get a few stills for each character and their chibi sprites, but GI clearly have the resources to accommodate a better variety of playable characters. Their enemy designs, and ZZZ prove this. I don't know if it's laziness or whatever but they keep sticking to the same 4 body types. It certainly isn't because of the budget.
@@ItsJustTeddington Oh yeah, just wanted to say how I genuinely thought OP was gonna joke 'furries' -- xD Unironically, I love all designs for all furry-scaly characters so far and aim to collect them all. Sadly don't have Aak to this day. I came to Arknights for Hellagur because I was hooked with how he wasn't the typical ikemen character. Nothing wrong with ikemens, just that a lot of gacha games just don't really vary a lot in their male character designs. To this day, the different body types for many characters in Arknights has been a treat! And while I like some Genshin character designs, especially how they're interesting to cosplay, the lack of diversity in body types was disappointing to me at least. I thought they were going to start with the Itto (?) character because of how buff he looked and I joked that if they stayed true to his buffness in the 3D model, I'd make an account. And well, that didn't happen. I heard its a programming complication but i don't know how true that is. (Edit: *was)
No no no. Feudal Japan exist until 1871, the one who banished it was Meiji 😂. He wanted new government systems and banished the feudalism from the government.
Let me just say this, you can't compare a post-apocalyptic modern world setting, to a more fantasy-esque world. Both Genshin and Arknights is a game rich with lore, and their clothing is usually related to the lore.
I agree To disagree with something you gotta have the facts and understanding of it Like plastic water bottles. You gotta understand it's plastic and it's littered in the oceans with micropkastic. But it's a easy way to get water to people who can't get clean water easily even if they have reusable bottles. Like in what side you are in. You gotta have facts with you to counter.
@@Pixelgamer-Intiny404 Alright then. The main argument here is that one of the two Arknights and Genshin Impact is hypersexualizing their characters and their designs are uninspirational. The only fact you need is that: 1. Sexualization is a dumb word, what they're doing is bringing out a characters sexual appeal through clothing, this is not only done in games but also in real life. Why is this important? Because a lot of people miss it. If you take the same character and give them less sexually appealing clothes you would have a character that will get different reactions from the fans. 2. Through the video, we know that apparently Genshin is more rich in lore due to their choice of clothing. Genshin takes inspiration from our world's traditional clothing. They're targeting a specific demographic, through the clothing. I'm speaking specifically on clothing here not other features of the game. Arknight's clothing is more to show that these characters are living in a rough world. You don't get to pick and choose what clothing you want to wear, most of them are wearing their formal clothing. Skins does exist in Arknights and they "could" invalidate my argument. But, Ch'en's skin, the chinese dress. Ch'en isn't a full time fighter, she does a lot of paperwork. Her wearing this dress to go to a meeting isn't weird, Arknight's skins makes sense for their lore, Rhodes Island isn't a military organization, their purpose is to protect infected through politics but if that's not possible then they go to war, so any non-war related clothing shows their organization isn't just full on war. And this brings me back to where I started. Don't compare a post apocalyptic world. With a fantasy-esque world. This is what a fraction of the argument would look like, it's futile. Both world appeals to different demographic and arguing about to dissociative elements won't bring you any closer to solving anything
@@flamefierce998 I would like to also add a bit of stuff to the design often time the ones on arknight that get a bit sexialize are mostly on the swimsuit skin, but since your wearing a swimsuit so what do you expect Also also, to me genshin choice of colors and design show that their world are colorful and vibrant while arknight (looking at their og skin) look darker and fitting with the world but also note that both had a different way of design a clothing (genshin tend to be more showing the inspiration from, example being ayaka from. The design itself you can tell that she is based on the samurais during the sengoku period) while in arknight they can show you the detail but they prefer to kept it hidden instead of let such detail completely taking over a post apocalyptic/modern design Also this is just my opinion
@@flamefierce998But one fact is still unchanged: One is good or bad. Like we cant justify rudeus being pedo with an explaination like: "The anime has medieval setting so its acceptable" while pedo is just bad.
What's funny is that no one in the AK community harassed this man, we literally just went on a drip showcase of each operators. Gotta say though, if not for this man making a horrible take on AK, AK got trending in Twitter, so that's the rainbow in every rainstorm.
And yet some people out there (cough reddit cough) still claimed that AK community was harassing the dude and saying that we took the bait. Like, okay, we did take the bait, so what? But harassment? Where exactly in the AK fashion showcase thread are we harassing the poor dude lol?
@@cerealata9035 yeah lol, we are don't want to get to their place, their community on Twitter already getting to the lowest point because these types of pathetic people, also i don't see any gacha mobile community doing a harassment crazy enough like genshin on Twitter, the example you can see is when tartaglia EN VA got a death threats over his silly joke, like what even in their head? Malding over a joke?.
Utage's Swimsuit design is indeed horny(to be fair, it's a [FREE]skin, you know how these things are), it's not in bad taste; sure it shows her assets that are probably the largest weapon aboard the landship currently, but it's not as if that's the only option you have for her; her base E2 art shows a lot about her personality too once you read her files and dialogue. overall utage is a good girl with a dangerous weapon, Arts damage on a Musha guard
Arknights has the most wholesome, detailed af, balanced fanservice, unique and amazing, character designs I've seen. I'm not sure what that man sees. He needs his eyes worked on. And probably his brain too. 👀
@@MINNOWBER I was actually trying for a while to see where in goldenglow's outfit could be even remotely hypersexualised, if only to try to understand how he got to that conclusion.
Genshin has no grounds to accuse non-Azure Lane mobages as hypersexualizing when Ganyu always flashes her underwear to the camera in her burst and Raiden basically pulls sword from her boobs. The ladies designs are blatantly meant to be sexy despite being from a country with strict censorship laws (vaporwear, hotpants so short they are almost panties, skirts so low irl you would be flashing nonstop, just to count a few) especially when a jp livestreamer avoids using female characters in his gshn stream so to avoid banhammer for accidental nsfw
Totally sidetracking but that JP livestreamer.. is it Kanae? He also said he doesn't really like girls that wear revealing clothing in general iirc, no hate on them or anything, just preference. If it's not who I think it is, my bad. But yeah, Genshin definitely targets specific audiences in terms of character designs...
@@SnowStar-1028 probably Kanae, I only heard this from a friend who is more into the livestream players Genshin definitely deliberately designs their characters (yes, even the guys tho they are still allergic to making actual buff models and not just abs texture) to appeal to certain demographics. There is no nonsexual explanation for certain design elements in Ganyu, Shenhe, Yae, and Raiden. Which is honestly not a problem as long as you don't deny it is fanservice, plain and simple.
If you pay attention closely, Raiden didn't really pull out her sword from her booba, it actually has a portal in between so it's not technically a booba sword, just correcting
The person who said that also has Genshin lewd fanart all over their timeline. The hypocrisy is staggering. And as someone who plays both games, I can see the merit and art style choices in both games. Both games take inspiration from our world. Genshin only happens to have a more grounded perspective while Arknights is more fantastical I feel.
It's not necessarily that. Genshin can have fantastical design, but unlike Ark Knight, genshin's gameplay isnt simple. That's why only enemies can have more over the top design because the developers dont need to worry about collisions, clipping and many other factors which can lead to a problem in an open world game. Ark Knight is a sprite game, which as a result gives developers and artist a much easier time. IF Genshin was forced to do that, it would take way much longer to create a character which as a result means less new characters per update, aka less momentum to stay relevant. Thats the thing people are ignorant about. Arknight simply is a simpler game, which doesnt mean a bad game. It simply means, the artists has much more freedom when it comes to design because there are less things the developers needs to worry about, aka less dificult to make compared to Genshin.
@@michaelshahoe If you want to talk about 3D models with complex designs, you should look at Netease's Onmyoji, especially with their more recent releases of the characters. Hoyoverse and Netease are both Chinese companies, both hugely popular in China, both use 3D models for their RPG games with similar anime style, yet Netease manages to make beautiful and complex character designs for Onmyoji regardless. IMO Hoyoverse just doesn't really have an excuse to be lazy given that they've garnered huge success through Genshin, plus they have literal gods in their roster, not to mention how bland their highest rarity characters feel.
@@porokichin7878 I mean I don't remember why exactly Itto abs got removed, but damn did they do him dirty at released. They only did somewhat imrpove him afterward. I only exaggerated how different he was from the PV to the release.
he doesn't, he's now coping through several tweets on other qrt of his own and replies to other threads it's really hard to even think the guy is baiting at this point
3:40 I'm an Arknights player who played Genshin up to pre Chasm, let me tell you that, that charm there is what gives him his water powers aka, it shows that he uses water. It is pretty lifeless. You only see what the character represents and not what the character is. As you pointed out, in Arknights the splash arts shows what characters are like. Again as you said, in that example Goldenglow doesn't have full control over her powers and therefore is nervous while in Ayato's case he is supposed to be a higher up officer from a noble family during fedual Japan but thats all you get from his design. His facial expression gives the vibes of an elder brother (might tease you but always there to guide.) but aside that the design is completely devoid of personality. For example they could make him carry a stained apron in his pocket which is slightly visible if he likes to try out dishes or likes to eat or they could make a pocketwatch hanging beside the charm if he likes to be timely or values his time etc. Yet there is nothing at all. You spesifically need to open the background page and start reading if you need to learn about them or give a listen to his voice lines as you play with him.
Like I said in another comment, they could be more creative with the splash art and the drip marketing they keep making, make it more interesting and not just some copy-pasted post about new characters to be released. Like put stuff in there to really flesh out the character, giving the players an idea of what they're about, past the visual aspects there should be some more nuance to the art design. IMO I think it's a disservice to the character when their most used visual is the blandest and most boring one, doesn't even show what the character is past the eye candy. The simplicity works, but it gets boring when you keep on looking at it.
If you only compare splash artworks for the gacha then yes Genshin is lacking. However, Genshin doesn't really use the Gacha system as a vehicle for storytelling because it doesn't have to: it can do all that in its fully-animated and voiced cutscenes, and when you play the character while you see them move. AFAIK Arknights mostly relies on VN-style storytelling, which while a serviceable way to tell a story definitely has to rely more on the character art to get a character across. Also, it's a very unfair comparison to use Goldenglow's Elite 2 art with Ayato's default splash art, since if you want a fair comparison you'd use Goldenglow's standard splash art, and as far as I can see her normal splash is just as "vanilla" in terms of character promotion as Ayato's is.
@@ajca711 Why though? The drip marketing on Twitter are just meant to be small teasers, usually for characters that are weeks away from releasing on a different patch, and even those tend to have accompanying short text blurbs to give some starting insight into the character. The actual character appearances go out in full force once they release the Character Teasers, Demos, and Collected Miscellany, which more than promote who a character is supposed to be in terms of personality and history.
@@StrikeNoir105E Arknights default, E2, & premium skins have stories & meanings behind them. Rhine Lab is the Manhattan Project & Ifrit is one the atomic bombs. Her demonic aura is the manifestation of raw & uncontrollable devastation. Sesa is the parallel of Alfred Nobel, inventor of the dynamite. Istina's pancake skin has Zima's ribbon & Gummy's cup, a sign that they're close friends. She also has Russian food & tableware showing signs that she's Russian. The flowers behind her signifies order & harmony because she's an OCD kuudere. Saileach's E2 art shows that she's a Welsch dragon & why she's a flagbearer. There are too many skins that have stories to tell in the background. TLDR: Let art speak for itself. No need for long narratives to show a character's personality. That's called first contact. You don't need to waste a long amount of time to get to know a person in real life. That goes the same for any media.
I love both Arknights and Genshin, and I think comparing the character design is dumb to me (although I like Arknights design more lmao). But hey, that's classic Twitter right there.
I feel like comparing the splash art to an operator’s E2 art isn’t a very fair comparison, since the latter is what you get after heavily investing into them. Genshin splash art is just a first glimpse when showcased and obtained; their character depth comes through in their voicelines and animations. Both are great games, it’s just unfortunate a good portion of the GI crowd is so toxic.
True, but the OP didn't do himself any favours not posting the art when u pull the character with an actual background, although it still wouldn't have helped his core argument lol
@@lvcrimosv and what's more funny is AK playerbase response that toxic twit with more toxic and disgusting manners. That's why I labeled both side are toxic.
I saw that the second tab you had open had some interesting searches throughout the video... but I digress. I like how much detail you can get from a character by looking at their in-game character design in Arknights. It makes every character look unique and interesting.
For genshin i can really compliment the world design. That and exploration is the best part of it. The story seems semi boring and most of the characters look bland. Not all since there a few that actually look rlly nice
Genshin's story is actually pretty decent but the story telling is incredibly boring, and annoying too whenever Paimon took over MC's role for God knows what reason.
I really like Bennett and Barbara' designs since they're one of the few designs in Genshin that actually say something about the characters' personalities
@@verner3600 agree a hundred percent, genshin story is pretty interesting, but it's hidden behind such an obnoxious writing that i would rather go and read kal'tsits 50 minutes long ass philosophical monologues in arknights

@devilkazumi578 well I hate when some1 murders ppl so basically I can hate murderers but I won't apologise for them lol; I know - kinda extreme example but still..
Curious, who's that certain someone? Far as I can tell I don't think there was a content creator that had that much hold over a community that it'd shift as soon as they went away.
I have tried both games and think genshin is more interesting for me but that's purely cause of the game play and the fact that I enjoy the clean artstyle, though overall I would definitely say ak's art has a lot more work put into it and look really stunning, the only reason I stopped playing it was because my brain is way too small to handle the strategies and gameplay mechanics. So what I'm trying to say is, people have different opinions and likings and can enjoy whatever they like, arguing about which game is better is completely pointless and would only make others feel worse about your own community
My biggest problem in GI is actually their character design. As a husbando collector, I do sometimes pull for female charas if I like their design but none of them Interest me. Idk why, despite having some differences here and there in their costume design a lot of them ended up just skin tight suit/black leotard with napkins or skirt. I don't mind sexy female character design but they overuse that skin tight clothing thing. While in AK, at least I can appreciate a lot of the design especially the male ops lol.
the lack of cloth physics on most characters is partially because they have to worry about making the game run on stuff like phones and switch (and if you know anything about the switch, it's probably moreso underpowered than even it's cooler older brother the WiiU)
well both game genres are different, Genshin is more strict in their clothing in terms of lore and reference to them, Ayato is a prime example, his design may be "boring" but it was intended to be considering it was actually based on Japan's Meji era, where western clothing are dominating Japan's usual clothing and culture so really it's based and perfect, a full package tbh While Arknights on the other hand was more modern and really, it's a post-apocalyptic world, who the hell cares about aesthetics, so designs are less strict, I mean if you look at Hung or Lee or any design-heavy character you literally see that they're details are so much that you would even see that it's unnecessary. don't compare two different games when you can't do your research properly about it
Worst part is they're really into r18 hentai and retweets hypersexulized Genshin characters in their original outfits 💀 I don't know if that's ironic or not (mostly moronic) Also GI players coming on this fool ass was just as good 😂
and what's worse is they're double downing on their shit opinion and calling the arknight fandom a 'bunch of 17 year olds' XD people like that are hopeless i swear
@@cerealata9035 "17 year olds" I like the fact they say that, but Arknights is not "sexualized" enough that even younger people play it (specifically from an age range of 14+)
I dropped all the other Gatcha games I've played except Arknights, this game has so much care and passion put into the character designs. Take Goldenglow for example, she is is based on a Scottish Fold which are infamous for possessing genetic disorders, in the story she can't control arts very well which leads to her constantly shocking herself, that's why her expression in the E2 art implies she's in pain (pretty sad). Another example would be Purestream, she's based off a Yangtze finless porpoise which are extremely endangered in the wild, one of her voicelines reads: "There is a legend among my people that we came from a place far, far away. Now that there are fewer and fewer of us, nobody seems to know where we came from, or where we are going..." she was also part of a collaboration with WWF, the sales from that event raised money for the conservation of these animals. That's without mentioning the NPCs, during Stultifera Navis one of the NPCs is based on fricking Don Quixote, how cool is that... These are just 2 examples among many many others, now I won't act like every design in the game is flawless, we do get some subpar ones now and then *cough* Ch'en Alter *cough*, but it's the little pieces of obscure trivia hidden among the characters that show how much love and care goes into this game. Meanwhile Genshin characters look like the same humanoid asset with different colours
Remind me, which is easier to make - full blown 3d model with differing movesets, or a bunch of png's? Genshin body models are somewhat "stamped", sure. Cuz hoyoverse are lazy bunch like that. Regarding lore and collabs, going for sob char. stories is just a sad, embarassing display. You are trying to compare post-apocalyptic disease ridden world with generic fantasy. Imagine comparing nails and chalk for "which of these tastes better". Yeah. As for the npc's, while Arknights have Don Quixote, Genshin has Ella Musk and Yun Jin. As for genshin twitter being toxic piss pit of a channel... Most of the loudmouthed morons are braindead, and I find it surprising how they did not drown in theyr own drool yet. I'm even more surprised that someone takes nonsense they spew at face value.
@@iamthethebeginningiamtheen9555 you can’t compare gameplay, but you can compare character designs, both Genshin and Arknights have 2d arts for their characters, although Genshin is a bit more limited because they have to model them in 3D as well. I think Arknights take the cake for this one, not every designs in Arknights are perfect, but I do end up remembering a lot more characters from Arknight than from Genshin.

Short explanation for the Itto 3D model tweet was people were expecting an actual BUFF 3D char since this was a time in Genshin where Itto was not yet revealed yet so to say, and we only got in-game shit to base off of who tf Itto is 'n what he looks like. Suffice to say he was just a copy-pasted 3d model from one of the enemies that could be found in Inazuma. TLDR: Itto was a stickman like all the other characters
@@Kagineko I'm sorry I can't really recall the exact reasons why the community wasn't satisfied with Itto's model, but to add to my comment, there were leaks at the time that he would be buff af, alongside with community discussions of having literally the same character models plus at the time there was also speculation about Varka also being buff since we got voicelines or sumn
@@Kagineko Other than being an oni, Itto's official art shows him with toned muscles (I wouldn't call it ripped, but they're more noticeable compare to other Genshin tale male characters's artwork), which got hyped up and people having unrealistic expectations for his in-game model for. Suffice to say, his in-game model got so many people disappointed since he's not as beefy as they imagined.
I can't say either of the games have bad character design. For genshins ayato, his design manages to convey his overall character decently well. His outfit is similar to a suit, and he is of course, dripped out. It manages to convey his high status and wealthy background. And his outfit is overtly Japanese because the region he is from (inazuma) is inspired by Japan. However, some earlier character designs do a worse job at storytelling, which is understandable, and I only hope they can improve in the future. Genshins lack of diversity (especially when it comes to body types) can be contributed to the fact that they have to make new 3D models for new body types. However, I do agree that their lack of diversity is still a problem. Personally, I like both games, and I don't think either of their character designs are "bad". I just wish Twitter wasn't such a cesspool of negativity. Also, Arknights is the last game I'd call "hyper-sexualized" lol

Genshin impact has weirdos but extremely good fan service for some reason especially that girl named yae miko or something i always see her on my Twitter anyway the genshin fandom is meh
i admit i have tried Arknights. The gameplay is unique (seriously a cool take on the tower defense idea) and the characters and story are interesting.. but it also seemed pretty grind heavy. and while it is nice, and nice that they had both genders (the dudes look so badass) i found myself playing it less and less due to Azur Lane (on the same device) and eventually the device had an issue with AL taking up 11GB and AK needing about 7gb. So i had to drop it. Don't think i have the ability to return to my account so while it's interesting still.. I don't see myself buying yet another Table (yet) to put AL on and then use the current one for it. Has it gotten less grindy like AL has lately? that is with more ease of use and quality of life options for grinding?
As a player of genshin, arknights, honkai (a lot more gacha games) i try to take the genshin fanbase’s side almost everytime smth controversial happens. BUT WHY IS THE FANBASE LIKE THISSSSS. People like these are the reason genshin’s fanbase is seem as toxic and looked down upon
7:20 It’s just a swimsuit, what did you expect shed wear? fukin BOC to the beach? It’s kinda sad honestly that some characters will not get any, even a slightly revealing outfit just because they might be branded “sexualized”. one is fine every now and then, just don’t saturate the entire skin shop with it.
I think he was more concerned with her body porpotion than the actual swimsuit. Sure having giant boobs is leaning towards the sexualized design trope but I honestly think the swimsuit itself is pretty normal and in fact very cute 😂 I just think she looks good in those - like most other cases Arknights swimsuit never give me the feeling of “oh wow thats some kinky fanservice stuff”, instead I just find them fit the characters really well. Arknight's characters are sexualized but that just makes it hurt that much more when you realize Terra is a hellhole filled to the brim with Cataclysms and magic rock cancer that what 70~75ish% of said operators suffer from and will die a horrific death.
Damn, they really forgot that Kaeya exist. Heck, he's one of the first starting characters you get in Genshin. Btw, bless Gladiia's thighs. Those legs make my OQF-20 pounder do some haram stuff.
I like some characters from Genshin, but the male character design isn't exactly inspiring. The women are curvy and sexual to high heaven but the men are build like a tube balloon guy in a suit. Look at men in Arknights - you have your skinny anime boys, your buff himbos, older men, aristocratically dressed men, and the female characters follow the same pattern. (although to be fair the Chinese government has been threatening Genshin's design despite it already being tame for the genre)
Woahhhhh, amazingggg. Arknights community doing a fashion show. oh my gooossshhh. And Tsunui was right about Broca having godly art. Look at those abs. The men's artwork literally shows that they work out and gain muscle. I mean look at those biceps! Silverash's wide shoulders.
Nobody dressed anything like that in Meiji Japan. Look it up. The jacket is all wrong; nobody wore that style. Capes were never in. The prominent bow for the cape strikes me as something I expect to see in Chinese fashion, not Japan. The fit is entirely wrong. The Meiji fashion was more straight, never a "slim and fitted" look like this. Gloves are maybe the one thing, but you overwhelmingly find white ones. The sleeves, you would only find something like that on women's kimonos. Never a male western-style jacket. That also strikes me as distinctly Chinese fashion. source: I've studied Japanese history on my own for years, reading all 4 volumes of Cambridge Japan as a light starter. Moving onto Japanese literature. And into Japanese' historians take on their own history. I have also studied Western and Chinese history as pastimes. I enjoy watching the Taiga drama every year (40-50 1hr drama episodes, with all-star casts, by NHK on specific historical event or person) -- though I enjoy trying to find it online less every year. The directors stay very close to period fashion and close attention to historical drama. There is always a very popular tour option to visit the historical sites attached to the drama. The locations that feature prominently usually get massive influxes of tourists that year. The historicity is paramount to this series, which has run continuously since the 1960s.
The little armor he does have (right shoulder, right forearm) is also just blatantly wrong; if this is supposed to be a Meiji era inspired design. I doubt his assertion is correct, however. Not meant as a dig at the artist... unless they really were trying to sell this as Feudal Japan inspired.
Genshin designs for the most part are just very loosely based on some "foundation" culture, but its heavily altered and stylized. Heck even characters from Liyue (Mihoyo is a Chinese company) hardly wear anything you can call proper Chinese clothing, they just have some elements here and there that reminds you of China.
Genshin takes cues and inspiration from historical places to craft its various nations, but nowhere is it supposed to be bound by those, because afterall it still takes place in a FANTASY world. Otherwise you'd have to remove... well, EVERYTHING in Genshin just because they're not historically accurate, because none of them are. No matter how much inspiration they take from the real world, Mondstat is not Germany/France, Liyue is not China, Inazuma is not Japan, and Sumeru is not India/Persia/Egypt.
Yeah well I prefer creativity and original design here, just because the apparel resembles historical and realistic clothings doesn’t make it look good. Make another three character wear the same sh Ayato wears except with a colour pallete change and I promise you that you’d get tired of it fucking fast. I agree with the dude, Ayato’s design is outright bland, plain and boring, it’s just an ikemen/binen in feudal japan inspired apparel. Something an NPC would wear, not a playable character.
Based take but I actually like Ayato’s bland style. In my opinion, change his splash art a little bit and he’d fit right in with Arknights to be honest. I’m reminded of our darling natto gohan Saga. The two games are worlds apart different though and I love both equally. Sucks that Genshin’s bad apples are rotten and stinky that they get all the attention.
I think the clothes speaks to itself about how he does not want to stand out. It s Bland, but refined still. It says a lot about how he does not want to be in the center scene.
@@nitsuji6705 True, they could be more creative with the splash art and the drip marketing they keep making, make it more interesting and not just some copy-pasted post about new characters to be released. Like put stuff in there to really flesh out the character, giving the players an idea of what they're about, past the visual aspects there should be some more nuance to the art design.
@@ajca711 honestly though? I’m satisfied with Genshin’s designs because we don’t pull them for CGs. They’re full 3D models and its a whole different can of worms in my opinion. Arknights is just vastly different from GI, if I see complex backgrounds on a genshin splash art I wouldn’t immediately think its Genshin imo so I prefer the sleek and “bland” style. If its Arknights though? Let the drip floooooow~
I love the E2 art especially with the animal that they're supposed to represent. I'm still hoping for a pistol shrimp being a gunslinger and then a mantis shrimp WITH 2 BIG FREAKING HAMMERS.
My wife plays both games, and although I only really play Genshin I have played a little bit of Arknights in the past. We both saw this tweet when it first happened and honestly we kinda laughed. Though keep in mind Genshin Twitter only ever really complains about two things nowadays. Either Sumeru and lack of inclusivity while still playing the game and giving Mihoyo their money (almost as if they dont actually care about these things and just want to feel special) or what their ships are, who ships who, basically just silly dumb ship wars. If thats all they ever complain about chances are they arent all that intelligent and probably not worth listening to. If you play Genshin just be thankful Mihoyo clearly does not care what its much smaller twitter fanbase thinks or wants. Its a silver lining among what is basically a cesspool of a community even when compared to most other gacha games.
As a Genshin player myself, that twitter brings great shame to us, I miss the time when Genshin wasnt so popular and still had little to no toxic fans like that.
You know, the shit I like from that tweet section is, from saying "You said this is Hypersexual huh!?" And then the more you dive in that tweet section, then you come into "Hey anyways, look at our drip we have here" 😂

Ayato main here. to say Ayato's design is well thought out is bold, considering there are hundreds of fan concepts of him illustrated well before his drip marketing leak, and many of them did his character way more justice than his official design. not to say his official design is bad, it's just that sometimes third-party artists tend to give more love to a character design over the more corporate looks. (except F/GO. good god they taint the name of historical figures just by looking like that) i play dozens of gacha games (both games included) and it's sad to see people like this hurting the solidarity gacha game communities have with each other (r/place's gacha game alliance was a great representation of this)
How somebody who plays genshin can say that other game hypersexualize its characters when genshin do that all the time? 💀 I don't even play arknights because it's too much things to do and it's too complicated for me But I adore the designs because they look very pretty (and that's why i was playing for a while lol)
I just found out about this whole event literally an our ago. I do find it wonderful that the AK fandom's response was mostly just to hold an art appreciation showcase, but my main takeaway is "that Broca pic puts every gacha-girl to shame." Like... damn.
My main game is Azur lane and my sis got me to play Arknights as a sidegame, it's a f***king amazing game and I got to build the abyssal team, when it comes to the fan service part in arknights, majority to me seems pretty tame, but so bloody beautiful, I can't see anything as even sexualized or even hyper sexualized unless it azur lane levels, not that im complaining about either game, AL just up-ed my standards fo THAT aspect
Reminds me of the whole Eula debacle. Different but still you know... Genshin fandom xD. Was the most, bizarre, preposterous and mind-boggling thing that I've ever seen. With no full context no actual information, we are already calling Eula a slaver and racist. Lol.
man this is why i try to stay away from genshin drama from both tiktok and twitter. it just takes away 10 years away from my life and enjoy the game side note: this is the first time I've ever seen arknights design sheeesh it looks cool
Just an opinion because I actually played both games, but when comes to splash art, AK is superior not only in their respective art styles, but the final level splash arts for the characters tell a short story about the characters themselves. One example here IS GoldenGlow due to her destructive capabilities, another can be Liskarm for her affinity with lightning. Or perhaps Pramanix due to her being the Saintess of Karlan. All GI's splash arts show would be their ethnicity with some sort of twist, like Diluc and Jean's European-esque fashion and uniforms from Mondstadt, or Ningguang and Xinqui's Chinese-based fashion of Liyue. GI has style, AK has a story. Also, as much as I don't wanna say it, but GI is more lewd due to the animation movements. AK sprites are chibified so you can't see anything lewd, even when zoomed in unless you're looking at the main picture. You can LITERALLY SEE the female character's busts jiggle with every step and leap they make if you look at GI.
Similar things also happened in the CN community. Some shit AK players said exactly the same shit to the GI community. This is just how internet works. There always are shity people, small in number but loud in voice. (Both games are great Gacha games btw)
What is up with the genshin community they always create dramas involving other games(gacha games). I can imagine if their anniversary rewards are still a disappointment to them they will do the same like last years genshin anniversary "drama".
I don't think it's fair to call the art hypersexualize when its a summer outfit, because you know, bikini/shorts n'stuff lol its kind of obvious thing to happen and just free points
Yeah its a normal thing in other gacha game to have a summer outfit with a little bit fan service, i guess that guy only play genshin and never touch other games.
I love both Arknights and Genshin, both games have their own positive and also negative. But for Arknights, I have played the game since April 2020 and til now i never stops. From the gameplay, endless choices in music and of course the drip, whether male or female ops, all look great and fits for their respective characters. Sure there are some lewd looking outfit but it isnt to the point of *hypersexualized*. Arknights summer outfits showed elegance and fashion, and keeping it on a tame level. I love genshin and its characters but when it comes to fashion, music or overall enjoyment, Arknights is just more than waifu and husbando collection game. I hope i dont offend anyone 🙏
i disagree i like the music and gameplay of Genshin more than Arknights but i do agree that arknights character designs are better ( this doesn't mean that Genshin designs are bad Both games have some really good designs ). Another thing is when it it comes to Genshin their personality and character depth are shown more through their voice lines and animations than the splash art.(I'm not offended by the just stating my opinion on the matter)
Both are good games but the amount and quality of detail in Arknights characters is WAY better compared to Genshin (mainly splash art), and even if they are limited due to the 3d aspect they could have at least made the splash art more appealing
I think the funniest thing is that even GI players thought that this guy was speaking out of his ass and also called him out. It goes to show that not everyone is a bad apple, it's just that the bad ones are the ones you see more often due to all the attention they get from their shit takes.

I mean it more applies when everyone is just crazy sexy for the sake of sex appeal and that’s not really Arknights
No you literally can't deny that in genshin. And thats fine rly

Just don't allow yourself too fall for that unless you're one

Most definitely. Which is also why I don't think this is a "Genshin Community" opinion, as it's literally just one guy on twitter.

Let me just say this, you can't compare a post-apocalyptic modern world setting, to a more fantasy-esque world. Both Genshin and Arknights is a game rich with lore, and their clothing is usually related to the lore.
I Agree. Well said!

The only fact you need is that:
@@flamefierce998 I would like to also add a bit of stuff to the design often time the ones on arknight that get a bit sexialize are mostly on the swimsuit skin, but since your wearing a swimsuit so what do you expect
Also also, to me genshin choice of colors and design show that their world are colorful and vibrant while arknight (looking at their og skin) look darker and fitting with the world but also note that both had a different way of design a clothing (genshin tend to be more showing the inspiration from, example being ayaka from. The design itself you can tell that she is based on the samurais during the sengoku period) while in arknight they can show you the detail but they prefer to kept it hidden instead of let such detail completely taking over a post apocalyptic/modern design
Also this is just my opinion
@@flamefierce998But one fact is still unchanged: One is good or bad. Like we cant justify rudeus being pedo with an explaination like: "The anime has medieval setting so its acceptable" while pedo is just bad.

@@SnowStar-1028 probably Kanae, I only heard this from a friend who is more into the livestream players
Genshin definitely deliberately designs their characters (yes, even the guys tho they are still allergic to making actual buff models and not just abs texture) to appeal to certain demographics.
It writes itself, every time, without fail
It has different approach, that's the main point. But the person somehow glorify Genshin too much.
Seeing a neutral comment on this shithole of comment section was amazing
You never want to be the main character of Twitter, here's hoping he learns from the experience.
I’d argue he likes the attention. He made another provoking statement saying Goldenglow’s design is reminiscent of a whore.
he doesn't, he's now coping through several tweets on other qrt of his own and replies to other threads
it's really hard to even think the guy is baiting at this point
But to be fair they show you what the character is in their demo, so they save the pizzazz for that I suppose
@@StrikeNoir105E Arknights default, E2, & premium skins have stories & meanings behind them.

He even doubled down on his take in some later replies, what absolute tomfoolery
To this day, I've never seen someone got ratio'd into the void while getting postmortem in the same day and that's impressive.
While in AK, at least I can appreciate a lot of the design especially the male ops lol.
the lack of cloth physics on most characters is partially because they have to worry about making the game run on stuff like phones and switch (and if you know anything about the switch, it's probably moreso underpowered than even it's cooler older brother the WiiU)
well both game genres are different, Genshin is more strict in their clothing in terms of lore and reference to them, Ayato is a prime example, his design may be "boring" but it was intended to be considering it was actually based on Japan's Meji era, where western clothing are dominating Japan's usual clothing and culture so really it's based and perfect, a full package tbh
While Arknights on the other hand was more modern and really, it's a post-apocalyptic world, who the hell cares about aesthetics, so designs are less strict, I mean if you look at Hung or Lee or any design-heavy character you literally see that they're details are so much that you would even see that it's unnecessary.

@@cerealata9035 "17 year olds"
I like the fact they say that, but Arknights is not "sexualized" enough that even younger people play it (specifically from an age range of 14+)
I dropped all the other Gatcha games I've played except Arknights, this game has so much care and passion put into the character designs.
@@iamthethebeginningiamtheen9555 you can’t compare gameplay, but you can compare character designs, both Genshin and Arknights have 2d arts for their characters, although Genshin is a bit more limited because they have to model them in 3D as well. However with how the the 2D splashes were drawn, Arknights just overall have more personality and background in their outfits and expressions, a lot of Genshin designs are characters wearing their regional/occupation clothing, which is not a bad thing, it’s however can be a bit uninteresting at times in my opinion.

Still not sure why people expected him to be buff, since day1 the game just recycled the same few body models. Why would Itto get special treatment?

I wouldn't even say "inspired", more like loosely-based, cause tbh that's what Inazuma is, a loose representation of what their idea of old Japan was.

7:53 YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
I made it to the big time! I'm in a commentary video!!! LET'S GOOOOOO, BABY!!!
Reminds me of the whole Eula debacle. Different but still you know... Genshin fandom xD. Was the most, bizarre, preposterous and mind-boggling thing that I've ever seen.
With no full context no actual information, we are already calling Eula a slaver and racist. Lol.
man this is why i try to stay away from genshin drama from both tiktok and twitter. it just takes away 10 years away from my life and enjoy the game
side note: this is the first time I've ever seen arknights design sheeesh it looks cool
3:16, "But what I can say is the drip looks nice" 🤣
Are we not gonna discuss what this guy searching 😳
Wait you don't regularly search for femboys near you😏?
Similar things also happened in the CN community. Some shit AK players said exactly the same shit to the GI community. This is just how internet works. There always are shity people, small in number but loud in voice. (Both games are great Gacha games btw)
What is up with the genshin community they always create dramas involving other games(gacha games). I can imagine if their anniversary rewards are still a disappointment to them they will do the same like last years genshin anniversary "drama".
Just notice something. And all I got to say is. Nice second tab dude.
That's an interesting second browser tab you got there 🦊
I love both Arknights and Genshin, both games have their own positive and also negative.
Good opinion
so anyone want to say something about his other tabs, "femboy near me"
Both are good games but the amount and quality of detail in Arknights characters is WAY better compared to Genshin (mainly splash art), and even if they are limited due to the 3d aspect they could have at least made the splash art more appealing
Ay, with that trending on twitter, Arknights will be seen in a good new light...
.....Hol' up, what's that "femboys near me" tab? Ay yo?
Shoo! Shoo! Back to the MHA Fandom with you!
