I haven't even thought about the Willard after buying this watch, I wanted the Willard but I just couldn't part with the cash, Then I found this watch and I wear it all the time because it's awesome, I glows in daylight the lume is radioactive lol, I have a good collection of watches and this feels like $700+ watch.
Thank you for your time and efforts sharing this watch with us all. Looked at the Addiesdive and Steeldive brands, but this looks better than both. I will have to consider this one seriously. Much appreciated. Take care.
SII movements are Seiko manufactured, not just licensed. I have one of these watches. Love it. The Steeldvie version has an embossed back withe the Steeldive logo.
@@propblast82nd from what I can see the Watch Dives, Addiesdive and Steel Dive all appear to be the same with the exception of the logos/branding...I would choose the one that had the best price/shipping and for sure had the milled deployment at that price...if you were ordering it on rubber it wouldn't matter about the clasp...
Nice watch. I purchased the Redunae version of the Captain Willard as I believe it had that extra little level of detail that others like the Steeldive and Heimdahllr lacks. Didn't know of this version but super pleased with mine. Still need to put a new dial on it but no rush. It's not as though anyone else other than me will ever know (or care).
@@hasnaali6213 I looked up some pictures of it, and the two main things I noticed were the lume dot on the bezel like the original, and the upper crown guard seems smaller like the original. That being said, unlike the watchdives version, it has an aluminum bezel that has no lume on it. The crown is also not signed, but has "lock --->" on it. Dunno how this compares to the original. I chose the watchdives version.
After researching the options, it was close for me - since the homage watches from various brands like Steeldive, San Martin, Watchdives and so on all seem really respectable and great value - but nevertheless the RDUNAE R2X Willard homage won out for me. It preserves the quirky 19mm lug width and the styling seems spot on. I also dig the slightly domed crystal.
Great review, I am subscribing for more. Your English is very clear for non native speakers, it's a pleasure to listen all the way from France. I've looking at this one for quite a while and you just convinced me. Watch Dive also have their own website, has anyone had experience ordering direct form their website?
I hate to break this to you, but that Chinese homage is superior to that Seiko SKX in every possible way. The homage has a sapphire crystal, a superior hackable Seiko NH35 movement, a ceramic bezel insert, and a brilliant bracelet with a superb milled clasp. How many of these features come with the Seiko SKX? Answer= Zero! Seiko should hang their heads in shame! Thanks for the video!
I keep my eye on the Seiko's as they do some really nice watches but my only gripe of late, they seem to have moved into the luxury watch market in terms of price, but kept the same standard (or substandard) quality that everyone knows and loves. Tried a "modern re-interpretation" limited edition (2500) watch at my local AD to see how this model of Turtle fitted before I bought a Willard Homage and it was £3,850. Nice though it was, the only difference apart from the engraved caseback is a BL35 Movement.
@@peterlandbo2726 Which part that I said is factually incorrect? And no, I don't work for San Martin. I was merely expressing how horrified I was at Seiko's horrendous QC control and how they keep increasing their prices whilst offering shoddy quality parts, i.e. the opposite of San Martin.
As far as " homage" goes,to me it's no big deal, Guitars are using name brand designs and putting their own touches to them. They're NOT calling them Seiko. It's their own brand just using the design ...like guitars, cars etc
Guitars is such an interesting example. I never thought about shapes and looks being associated with a brand from that standpoint. How many Fender Strat look alikes are out there that people don't call them Strat homage guitars. I think that changes my thought about it a touch. They do copy the SPB153 nearly identical so it's a bit different but in terms of it being a black or green 6105. That's an iconic watch at this point.
Watchdives, San Martin, Steeldive and Addiesdive are EXCELLENT Seiko clones. I have a bronze Addiesdive and of all the watches I own ( about 40) my Addiesdive gets the most attention. Guys stop me all the time whenever I am and ask about it. $199 for a genuine bronze Turtle with a Seiko movement. You can't go wrong.

Finally a san martin i can relate to. Beside of that bezel play, i wonder how it sounded, can you please make a 3 second bezel sound for the next video. This price and you get soo much watch i like it alot. I will keep it on the bracelet it looks good and well finished. Thank you for the video..
The bezel play is very minimal (some of the movement was from how I was holding the bracelet) and the click is very consistent and high quality. I will definitely get this watch back on camera soon, it’s a keeper for sure. Thanks so much for tuning in!
I just got the white dial Blue Bezel version of this watch. there is a dark spot of some sort on the minute hand. be advised that the quality control on the white dial version of this watch is questionable.
I believe they are all the same other than the logos and case back etching. I have a steeldive and an addiesdive. I'll bet they are born in the same factory.
Buyer be ware...I purchased a brand new Captain Willard WD6105 black PVD watch from Watchdives and it arrived defective from the factory. The watch was packaged well and there was no sign damage from shipping. The crown would not screw down to the secured position. I own several watches with screw down crowns and I know how to properly use them. Watchdives first wanted me to send them a video or images of the defective crown...seriously how can anyone show a defective crown on video or photos?.... Then they proceeded to lecture me on how to properly use a watch with a screw down crown. Watchdives was reluctant to accept me returning the watch back to them and even after I paid out of pocket to return their defective watch they only issued me a partial refund. I will never do business with Wachdives again because they can't be trusted to do the right thing if there's an issue.
I’m surprised nobody chimed in on your comment! If you bought it from Amazon directly, you would have had no problem returning that and got your full refund! However that sucks that Watchdives gave you all those problems returning it. It’s a shame and says alot about their lack of customer service. I was thinking about trying a Watchdives watch but your story soured me a little. I feel your pain!
The review is excellent 👍 The watch is a bit bulky for me, but anyway it's gorgeous. Try two-piece NATO straps, they much more comfortable, not adding the thickness. Cheers!
It might look bulky but due to the pillowcase design, it doesn't wear bulky, it wears really well. I've got the Redunae version and am really pleased with it. My daily driver despite having 3 more expensive watches.
