    So very grateful for this video. I had a cat that was sick and urinated on the floor quite a bit. It is absolutely disgusting and I could never imagine leaving a home like that for someone else to move into. The sliding glass door used to leak so we have to replace the flooring around that door and I'm sure we will come across other surprises as we pull up the carpet😝. I'm wondering why you used two different products to seal different parts of the floor (shellac vs the other primer used). I see the shellac being used only in some parts whereas the other primer was used on the entire subfloor after done with repairs. I am using your tips to repair my sunfloor after our dogs destroyed our carpets.

    I feel bad for the cat or dog (probably dog) that had to endure this life. The worst area is near the door? Yeah...a poor neglected animal that couldn't get out. People suck.

    • @kellywheeler670

      Actually dealing with same issue in a home I just purchased. Although it is an unexpected surprise I felt the worst for the dogs! A great Dane, boxer, and 3 chihuahuas and the worst stains were by the door. Awful. ... on another helpful note removing sections and sealing is awesome before I sealed I also took baking soda and hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle and sprayed directly to each area saturating. It made the world of difference. The seal was just to ensure nothing more to be emitted as o have asthma and allergies

    What products did you use for the shellac and primer?

  • @goodenoughgirl8102
    @goodenoughgirl8102 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I used peroxide to “eat” subfloor urine. Many times and lots of scrubbing etc. Let it dry. Used oil stains and then clear poly sealed it. Several coats. Did pretty good but I don’t think the pet urine went that deep. Def smells better in there now. But the key is to use something enzymatic on pet urine or on anything else biological. It “eats” it so it deals with stains and smells simultaneously.

Mobile home and pressed wood floor under sink. I was told to spray bleech water on the whole floor under sink, wipe dry excess and let dry. Then seal the floor to contain smell. Isn't it amazing all the things you find once you start renovating. Seller's are good at masking things to get a sale. You're doing a great job on the house.

      I know right?!?! I try to leave the homes I sell better than how I bought them, but I guess that’s just me. Thank you! Can’t wait to start doing the pretty stuff. 😊

      @@TheLatinaNextDoorI'm the same way. We recently down sized. And I cleaned and vacuumed everything for the new buyers. I even patched and painted all the holes left from the wall decor. People said I was nuts. It just made me feel better. We also bought a fixer upper. It's so much fun making it my own. Enjoy watching your before and after. Keep the videos coming......
