Ben, It‘s called the lower bump stop the same thing as the upper one they are there for the maximum movement up or down
0n the suspension with out it the balls will come out of the sockets a bit like a hip replacement lol. Cheers Dave.

Its primula yellow. Think the code is FMP off the top of my head

@@MiniMadness thanks. Any other information you can give me on the color would be great. I have the same color car and I’m getting ready to buy the color. I just don’t know exactly what I’m looking for. But I love that color for the mini.

you make it look so easy, ive done mine twice in a short space of time after the first ones was cheap and rock solid. it still doesnt sit right now even with hi-lo's

In reality it took about 5 hours from start to finish! I hate setting up hilos, they are a right pain

Mini Madness every job on a mini takes hours longer than you think ha ha you should know. Mine is not right as 1 Hi-Lo is wound all way in to shortest with 3/4 finger gap and other side is similar but wound out a few threads.

Very very true lol. Hmm, are the hilos seated correctly in the cones? The knuckle cups in the top arms in good condition?

Mini Madness I believe they are and been the same the 3 times been in and out, was like that when I bought it with standard trumpets

hmm, interesting... Wonder if the seats for the cones in the subframe are ok, maybe one is missing?

    Hi Ben
Great videos that have really helped me with my ongoing 1992 project.
Would you consider selling the registration number from your yellow mini??

    • @MiniMadness
      @MiniMadness  5 ปีที่แล้ว

Glad to help! No unfortunately I dont want to sell it, I feel like it should stay with the car as its had it for the last 37 years

How could you sell a registration anyhow?

A little cheap way of raising the suspension that’s sitting a tad to low is to put a couple of washers between the knuckle joint and the alloy trumpet.

    A job well done

Nice work. U should put a new knuckle joint in at same time.

Also run a thread chaser down the centre of cone before fitting, makes it easier to get the cone compressor to ' bite ' and doesn't chew up the thread. Just try using a compressor when there is no thread left on the cone!

It only had a new knuckle joint last year when I had it all apart then so didnt see a need to do it again this time. Good shout on cleaning the threads!
