      *John 1:1*
      Said the Word
      it is Allah (the divine)
*John 1:14* It is said that the Word became flesh (Jesus)
This means that the divine/god becomes a fetus in the stomach
the human (Maria) was then born and Nurtured by humans (maria)
*God can be cared for, and raised with humans* 😆
*God can have foster parents* *?* 🤣
      *God has childhood* 😱
Try to imagine when baby Jesus was crying okay okay being carried while rocking and swinging
maria said oh my dear child
      *the word declares*
I and my father are one (John 10:30)
I am the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6)
Whoever has seen Me has seen the Father (John 14:9)
      *god=a baby*
*The one being lulled to sleep is a human*
Imagine when Jesus was still a baby, he was still crawling, he couldn't defecate, he couldn't wash himself
her ass is still messy and hasn't been spanked by Maria
*your word is right, because indeed* *I am the Teacher and LORD*
      *(John 13:13)*
*He who has seen Me* *has seen the Father (John 14:9)*

If Mr. Williams felt Mr. Tabor was a threat to Islam, the latter would not be invited. The Quran is more about Muhammad than Jesus and hence the reason why little is said about his teachings which would have conflicted with Muhammad's way of doing things.

@@MsJfraser Have you read the Quran.....??? There is two whole chapter in the Quran called sura Al Imran and Surah Maryam both are about Jesus PBUH and Mary PBUH and John the Baptist PBUH and Zachariah PBUH..!! So please don't assume something what you don't know......believing in Jesus PBUH and all other previous prophet is the central tenets of Islam.....actually Muhammad PBUH taught every Muslim to beleive in Jesus PBUH but first he removed all the forgeries of so called Christian scribes and taught us about the real historical Jesus Christ and his teachings which is same as Muhammad PBUH .....Muhammad PBUH even left a space besides his grave for Jesus PBUHs burial when he will die after his second coming...!! the message was all along was simple beleive in one God and worship him without associating any partner( Christians do the exact opposite the trinity is just another form of associating partner with God,actually Christians should be called paulian because they follow the work of Paul not the Christ).....Dr Tabors scholarly works just proves that if you remove the forgeries of later scribes and forgeries of Paul then the core message is exactly same as Islam.....beleive in one God and Give charity simple...!! There is no one who is threat to Islam, those who speaks against Islam doesn't have any biblical understanding like Dr Tabor they never ever produce any proof...just shows forgeries of scribes to prove their point....which can be easily dismantled...

I agree that it's a very "important subject" for us to consider. And it does not matter what religion we profess. What matters is taking time to listen and to be respectful. We can't assume that the information from one scholar is necessarily the "truth" about God almighty. I just wish Paul would invite some traditional Christian scholars who believe in Jesus' divinity.
No disrespect intended toward Muslims. I'm here basically to listen and learn.

Dr James explanation of mark 10.17 (Paul's favorite verse in all of bible) really is important. Someone bowed on his knees and asked Jesus I want to get eternal life. Did Jesus reply you have to believe God is Jesus of Nazareth. No. Jesus replied: “....god alone is good...and keep the commandments”. Notice the word ‘alone’. Pure monotheism.

I think the problem start when people start saying that Jesus is God, then it means Jesus alone is sufficient. But back when I was still a Christian my mindset would be: "ok I don't know the deal between those three, but the practice should be as what is taught by Jesus"... but then I see Jesus taught me to worship God... Then I was like "if Jesus is God himself then why didn't he make clear of this... Regarding the wisdom you could use parables, but regarding the law you should clearly say I am the God (in fact yes Jesus did such regarding the father)"

I really feel sorry for Christians.. but also I know that God promises guidance to anyone who search for him sincerely.. so I am sure many sincere christian will be guided, and some may be tested on that day.. because majority of them knew nothing about correct Islam message. Now that lack of knoweldge is getting rarer and rare and the door may close or becomes smaller.. cheep books has been available in the last 100 years, internet, etc..
God in hadith says if you come to me by a length of a hand I will come to you by double the distance (arm) etc...
      you know the hadith..
Thank you for offering us insight on how a christian think and rationalize these passages ... I always wonder a lot about them and feel empathy toward them.
Could you tell me the major point , 2 or 3 that pushed you to research Islam? (not only accept it, but got you curious to study it and ultimately made you accept the Islamic message ).. if you don't mind, it may help others who were at that stage of searching and read this, and or for dawah purpose.

How come you left out verse 21? Jesus connects following him in order to get to heaven completely debunking what Dr Tabor was rambling on about. I noticed Muslims and Atheists love to choose what they read and ignore huge parts of what Jesus said Mark 10:21 Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

    • @sutil5078
      @sutil5078 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

Dear Jim, but Mark: but Mark 10:21 still did not mention what the Church teach its followers " believe in my blood, or my sacrifice or my resurrection..." it is all about doing good work and by the mercy of God (in Islam) or by "God's grace" in the original teaching of Jesus we can be saved.
Think of the Lord's prayer , the condition for forgiveness, is forgive us as we forgive others! That prayer agree with Islamic creed.. and yet it did not mention the redeeming blood, the sacrifice and resurrection..
I I am just exchanging thought here, and respect your faith etc.. May God guide you and me and all. Amin

@@siglindekraus5738 This is not true my friend. God is the Most Merciful. Actually, nobody is sinless, and nobody will enter paradise by their deeds, but only by the Mercy of Allah. Nevertheless, we need to obey God’s commandments and apply them to gain his Mercy. Here are two beautiful hadiths of the prophet Muhammad ﷺ about this subject.
Anas reported God’s messenger as saying, "All the sons of Adam are sinners, but the best of sinners are those who are given to repentance."
Aisha reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Follow the right course, be devoted, and give glad tidings. Verily, none of you will enter Paradise by his deeds alone.” They said, “Not even you, O Messenger of Allah?” The Prophet said, “Not even me, unless Allah grants me His mercy. Know that the most beloved deed to Allah is that which is done regularly, even if it is small.”

      @@johnbrzykcy3076Hello John. How's it going?
The Muslim helps you with your scriptures. Please read you Bible thoroughly.
You've brought up the sandal thing which is in the last Gospel - the Gospel of John. It's the author of John playing up Jesus and trying his best to try to do damage control just like Matthew tried before him.
      So much for "sinless" Jesus.
      Mark 1:4
And so John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
      ..........
      Mark 1:9
At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
So the evidence is there that John the Baptist was preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. Jesus was baptized FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS
The author of Matthew couldn't really digest this and so he improved the "Word of God" in Mark and made it as if John wanted to be baptised by Jesus and all that drama. Same thing happening with the author of John trying to play up Jesus.
Even if for the sake of argument I say that indeed John had amazing praise for Jesus, the bottom line still remains that BOTH these Prophets of God praised each other and showed mutual respect. Jesus calling John the greatest man born of a woman whereas John praising Jesus over himself.

Early followers of Jesus view him to be a PROPHET in the Bible. Here’s the proof…
    Matthew 21:10-11
10 "When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?' 11 "The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the PROPHET from Nazareth in Galilee.”
    (Jesus)
    Luke 13:33
33 "Nevertheless I must walk today, and tomorrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a PROPHET perish out of Jerusalem.”
    Luke 24:19
19 “What things?” he asked. “About Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied. “He was a PROPHET, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people.
    Matthew 13:57
57 “And they were deeply offended and refused to believe in him. Then Jesus told them, “A PROPHET is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his own family.”
    Matthew 5:17
17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the PROPHETS; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.”
    Acts 2:22
22 “Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a MAN accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.”
Even those who witness his miracles at first hand called him a Great Prophet!
    Luke 7:15-16
15 "The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother." 16 "They were all filled with awe and praised God. “A great PROPHET has appeared among us,” they said.”
    John 9:17
17 “Then they turned again to the blind man, “What have you to say about him? It was your eyes he opened.” The man replied, “He is a PROPHET.”
    John 4:19
19 “Sir,” the woman said, “I can see that you are a PROPHET.“
So who should we believe? Those who knew, met, and witness his miracles or those who NEVER met him nor ate/drank with him telling us he’s “god” or “son of god”?
May Allah GUIDE those who are sincere and honest before it’s too late for them.

@@renatovasquez6041 Jesus in the Bible was a Muslim because he preached and worshiped only ONE God exactly the same way Muslims preach and worship ONE God (pure monotheism). Here's proof from both the Holy Quran and the Bible….
      1) Holy Quran 5:72
72 "They have certainly disbelieved who say, " Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary" while the Messiah has said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates others with Allah - Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers."
      Holy Quran 19:36
36 [Jesus said], "And indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path."
Now let’s take a look what Jesus has said in the Bible and commanded his followers to do so...
      Mark 12:29
29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord OUR God, the Lord is ONE."
      John 17:3
3 "Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have SENT."
      Luke 18:19
19 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good-except God alone.”
      John 14:24
24 “Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who SENT me.”
      John 5:30
30 “By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who SENT me.”
      Matthew 15:24
24 He answered, “I was SENT only to the lost sheep of Israel.”
      Matthew 26:39
39 "Going a little farther, he fell with his FACE to the GROUND and prayed."
Noticed how Jesus (peace be upon him) always gives credit to God Almighty and he worships his Creator just like Muslims do by placing his head on the ground.
      2) Jesus also called his lord as Allah just like Muslims do today. Here's the Aramaic proof...
Jesus spoke Aramaic NOT Hebrew which most people think. The word for God in Aramaic is Alah or Allah which is a slight accent/dialect within the Semitic language. Even the Christian scholars who were behind the film Passion of Christ do acknowledge and confirm that Jesus has always called his Lord as Allah...
      th-cam.com/video/gRr48TIpzro/w-d-xo.html
      3) Jesus also greeted people exactly like the Muslims do by, saying Assalaamu Alaykum in Aramaic. Here's the Biblical proof...
      John 20:21
21 "Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”
      Luke 24:36
36 "While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you."
      4) And finally, Jesus himself and those who met and knew him had called him, a Great Prophet exactly the way Muslims refer to him. Here's more Biblical proof...
Seriously, those people need to study the Bible carefully and thoroughly about what Jesus himself said because their eternal salvation depends on it.
Jesus prayed to and worshiped Allah only yet they refused and want to pray and worship Allah’s creation (Jesus) instead of the Creator who is Allah. If they continue to reject the true teachings of Prophet Jesus, then Jesus himself has already warned them on what he will do/say to those who claimed to worship him on the Day of Judgment when he and everyone else are in front of Allah Almighty.
      Matthew 7:22-23
22 “Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!”
Subhan’Allah! Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction. Even the word Hallelujah is the same as Alhamdullilah since both words are praising Allah in his actual name yet they don’t even realize it. May Allah guide them and continue to guide us.
Jazakallah Khair and Assalaamu Alaykum (Peace Be With You).

The apostle John opened His gospel stating Jesus existed with His Father BEFORE the creation of the world and unequivocally states Jesus “was God,” (1:1). In the book of Revelation, John writes that Jesus uses the title “First and and the Last ,”
(Revelation 1:11,17), a title used in both the Old Testament and the Quran for God.
The apostle Peter refers to Jesus as “God and Saviour ,” (2 Peter 1:1).

Unlike Christians who teach that Luke is an independent gospel that doesn't copy others as sources, the author of Luke doesn't deny that they uses Mark as their source but admits it: Peshitta Luke:1:1-4 "Since many have been disposed to write narratives of those events, of which we have full assurance, as they delivered them to us, who from the first were eye-witnesses and ministers of the word; it seemed proper for me also, as I had examined them all accurately, to write out the whole, methodically, for thee, excellent Theophilus: that thou mayest know the truth of the statements, which thou hast been taught." This means that the author clearly knew it, had read it and maybe owned their own copy. However, some scholars have recently criticized that the Teophilos prefaces might be later forgeries rather than being part of the original text and they would have been added only to deceive the readers. So that's why I'm not entirely sure.

Understand, the Biblical terminology in ancient times regarding Son or Father meant in a figurative sense but never in the literal sense. To be called Son in those times meant, you were a RIGHTEOUS person. In fact, even in today's world, when an old man calls a young man, Son or says, "come here my son" it's considered an HONOR and RESPECT. However, that doesn't mean, you're his real son.
Also, most Christians call their priest or Bishop as Father but that doesn't mean he's their "real" father. It's really important to know that when discussing the matter of Jesus and his relationship to the Creator of the heavens and earth. It's also equally important to know that Adam, Abraham, Moses, Solomon, David, etc are also called Son of God in the Bible which further illustrate that point. If the title of Son of God was unique to only Jesus than those Prophets wouldn't have been called Son of God either.

The 2 big differences between the New Testament and the Quran seem to be between the claims that Jesus died and that he rightfully has the title and identity of "son of God".
It's not nonsense about whether or not he's God. It's obvious none of the authors of the New Testament thought he was God, it's not even an argument. I look forward to the day that Christians and Muslims discuss these actual differences and not waste time arguing over the Trinity.

    Matthew 16:13-18 (DRB)
13 And Jesus came into the quarters of Caesarea Philippi: and he asked his disciples, saying: Whom do men say that the Son of man is?
14 But they said: Some John the Baptist, and other some Elias, and others Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15 Jesus saith to them: But whom do you say that I am?
16 Simon Peter answered and said: Thou art Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answering, said to him: Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jona: because flesh and blood hath not revealed it to thee, but my Father who is in heaven.
18 And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Son to jews meant what? Trinitarian crap or an expression they used for prophets and holy men?
That is what reading in context means.
If you want to pretend he was speaking of the trinity, you have t prove that Jews used that expression in that manner.
They didn't. So if you read and see that expression in context of its Jewish speaking crowd, you'd be a Unitarian first and foremost.

I'm very curious about something. If "Matthew" & "Luke" have things in common that aren't in "Mark", wouldn't the simpler explanation be that "Luke" simply copied from "Matthew"?

Well they’re following him; during his lifetime and hearing his sermons and messages; …..they’re a mass followinging of ebionites…. Then Jesus suddenly is crucified seemingly out of nowhere. So they’re all left out in the cold; following James at that point. Holy Spirit comes on them; Jesus tells some of them what the plan was; for that to happen. And so the dispute would arise about Jesus message and following and then his sacrifice on the cross happening to save the nations. You can see a division of ideas happening some time after that.

_And he arose and immediately taking up his bed, he went out before all, so that they all were astonished, and glorified God, saying: Thus never saw we._ (Mark, Chapter 2, verse 12)
_When the crowd saw this they were filled with awe, and they praised God who had given such authority to man._ (Matt, Chapter 9, verse 8).
In Mark the word "authority" is not found. Christian theologians misinterpreted the word “authority” in Matt. its not authority to forgive sin which the scribes were talking about. its the authority to cure the paralyzed. The crowd were stunned seeing the paralyzed man walking and glorified God not Jesus. The crowd saw this miracle and they went: "wow, and praised God who gave Jesus authority to cure the paralyzed".

Hi Paul, long time viewer but never comment. I loved this video and have an itching curiosity about how this implicates then the idea and necessity of salvation to Christianity? In particular, how do Christians who believe Jesus not to be God or divine or the Son of God then justify his death as a means to cleanse them of original sin or sin in general?
In other words, what would a Christian who doesn’t believe Jesus is God say or believe about the resurrection story and salvation?
    Please help connect the dots!

Hello Natalie and greetings from Florida.
I'm not sure if Paul of Blogging Theology will answer you because he is so busy. I'm willing to try to answer your questions but I'm no scholar like Paul !
To begin, I personally don't believe that the idea regarding Jesus' divinity is necessarily correlated with Christianity alone. I'm sure there are some Muslims who do believe in Jesus' divinity.
To be honest, I don't know how an individual can explain the concept of "salvation" within Christianity if they reject or negate the belief that Jesus was the Son of God. Negation of Jesus' divinity would imply that He was only a Prophet or a mere man. I'm not very knowledgeable about the prophets, but I never read that a prophet can secure our salvation?
So, from my understanding, a negation of Jesus' divinity ( as either God or the Son of God ) would imply that Christianity is meaningless. I could be wrong. But how could a mere man or prophet "cleanse" us from sin? And why would a human being be crucified on a cross for our salvation? I think salvation through the crucifixion of a human being is impossible. I say that because only God our Creator is able to offer us salvation. If God the Father had a plan to offer us salvation and eternal love, He would send Jesus the Son.
Anyhow, I'm rambling on. I wish I could "help connect the dots" for you. I'm not sure how Paul or Dr. Tabor would respond to you. But since you questioned salvation in Christianity, I'm curious what Muslims believe regarding salvation. Does our salvation depend on good deeds only? Does God choose to save only those who recite "God is one"?
By the way, I'm not trying to be disrespectful to Muslims. I'm curious too about "salvation".
Jesus was the "man with the plan". However He wasn't just a mere man. I hope God guides us to understand better. He was/is our loving Creator!
      Respectfully from Florida USA

@AmeliaforChristI like when you said "a false Christ cannot give you any Salvation". Interesting. Can a mere human being be considered a "false Christ" ? Can a "religion" itself become a "false Christ "?

I appreciate your comments regarding Jesus and Nicodemus. Many people in today's world, like Nicodemus, look like they have "it all figured out externally". Interesting that you said Nicodemus was full of fear. Yes Jesus did say that He was the "living bread". I wonder how people interpreted those words 2,000 years ago?

      @nataliejarrah4110 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Thank you very much for your responses. I guess a matter I take issue with is why we need to be saved when God is all seeing and all knowing. I don’t like to put any limitations on God (the Father) and so I take issue with the fact that God did not see coming Mankind’s decision to sin (as per the discussion between Paul and the professor in this discussion). I think the best way to think of Jesus is that he was a conduit in which God’s message was passed down. Jesus himself I see akin to the prophetic line of Abrahamic messengers. It is through God that he was able to perform miracles. Not because he was in fact God or the bread of God. As such I struggle with him having equal status with God the father, which is required for Christians to believe to be granted eternal life. I don’t believe I need to eat from the body and drink from the blood, and believe that Jesus is Divine in order to be saved.
I need to believe in Jesus, in his message being divine, as he was guided (and tested) by God. Loved by God. For this reason in exploring the prophets before him and Muhammad after him, I see the same message and the same love shining through from God.
Why can’t a Prophet guarantee your salvation? It’s a fair question. I’d like to reframe the question and put GOD into the equation, not Jesus the Son. What is required to achieve eternal life?
Service and worship. Just redirected with a straight line to The omnipotent Creator, the all knowing and all seeing. Surely he is the Plan if he created and sent down Jesus to do his bidding. I can’t unsee this now.
      Love ❤

@AmeliaforChrist I really like when you said "We cannot save ourselves". In fact, I hope God saves me from myself ! Only God through Jesus can perceive my heart, my sins, and my spiritual weaknesses.
      Sometimes I wish I wasn't a finite, limited creation.
I hope I better understand God's grace for me. God's grace for all humanity through the Son Jesus.

1:12:49 🔖🔖 Dr. Tabor said many many eye-0pening stuff:
    he mentioned the Matthew 25
I went and read it, (wow wow wow, now I need to find time to read the whole NT or even the whole OT AND NT>..) because when I read it before my Islamic knoweldge (especially Quranic verses) was not as strong as now..
Hear is Matthew 25, read it carefully please, see what the .
read this The Parable of the Ten Bridesmaids, obviously it shows 2 groups one prepare for Judgement Day and another are not, notice verse 8 in particular:
    Matthew 25:1-13
25 “Then the kingdom of heaven will be like this. Ten bridesmaid took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom.b 2 Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. 3 When the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them; 4 but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps. 5 As the bridegroom was delayed, all of them became drowsy and slept. 6 But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Look! Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ 7 Then all those bridesmaid got up and trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ 9 But the wise replied, ‘No! there will not be enough for you and for us; you had better go to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.’ 10 And while they went to buy it, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went with him into the wedding banquet; and the door was shut. 11 Later the other bridesmaids came also, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open to us.’ 12 But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I do not know you.’ 13 Keep awake therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour."
I got shiver and goosebumps because it echoed this Quranic verses...
Now having read Jesus words above, please read these verses in the Quran:
    12. "On that Day you will see believing men and women with their light shining ahead of them and on their right. ˹They will be told,˺ “Today you have good news of Gardens, under which rivers flow, ˹for you˺ to stay in forever. This is ˹truly˺ the ultimate triumph.”
    13. On that Day hypocrite men and women will beg the believers, “Wait for us so that we may have some of your light.” It will be said ˹mockingly˺, “Go back ˹to the world˺ and seek a light ˹there˺!” Then a ˹separating˺ wall with a gate will be erected between them. On the near side will be grace and on the far side will be torment.
    14. The tormented will cry out to those graced, “Were we not with you?” They will reply, “Yes ˹you were˺. But you chose to be tempted ˹by hypocrisy˺, ˹eagerly˺ awaited ˹our demise˺, doubted ˹the truth˺, and were deluded by false hopes until Allah’s decree ˹of your death˺ came to pass. And ˹so˺ the Chief Deceiver1 deceived you about Allah.
    15. So Today no ransom will be accepted from you ˹hypocrites˺, nor from the disbelievers. Your home is the Fire-it is the ˹only˺ fitting place for you. What an evil destination!”
Also Dr Tabor may also meant to link the end of that passage in Matt to
notice also when Jesus said the door was closed and what they say:
" 10 And while they went to buy it, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went with him into the wedding banquet; and the door was shut. 11 Later the other bridesmaids came also, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open to us.’ 12 But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I do not know you.’ 13 Keep awake therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour."
    the wall =the door
Gospel "you had better go to the dealers and buy some for yourselves" = " It will be said ˹mockingly˺, “Go back ˹to the world˺ and seek a light ˹there˺!” "
also it evokes OTHER passages in the Quran and the bible Mathew :
I think Dr. Tabor (knows some thing about Islam) notice just before that "he said I am not saying this to cater for you because you are a Muslim.." he was telling him subtly it echoed the Quran..
not only it evokes the verses I gave above!!
He may have meant this part of the message:
"12 But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I do not know you.’ 13 Keep awake therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour." that you just read, which evoke the other Mathew passage:Matt 7-22-23
"Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers* " Matt 7-22-23
(another translation says, instead of evildoers
    "you who break God's laws"
another says "you workers of lawlessness" ) !’ " Mat 7-22-23.
Who abolished the law? PAUL , Paul who called Jesus a curse for us and to replace the curse of the law!! how could he dare to call Jesus and the law that God gave Moses curse!!!!!!
Ask Who prophecies in the name of Jesus and and in your name drive out demons? who does that? aren't they the Christians of today!!
but because they abolished the law, and called him "Lord! Lord !in the sense of God" he will deny knowing them!! because he did not teach them that!! He said keep the law not even a tittle not even a jot etc.. he said God is one!! No wonder he would not recognize them and rebuke them!!
And trust me it may sound harsh on these who say "lord lord" on that day.. but remember
if they were sincere they would have been guided.. rather they used Jesus name to earn money and get money to heal people on night channels !!
shaking their hand and making fake actors walk again etc..
The scene can be echoed here in this Quranic verse: (this dialogue will happen either after or before the Matthew you just read above" :
"And ˹on Judgment Day˺ Allah will say, “O Jesus, son of Mary! Did you ever ask the people to worship you and your mother as gods besides Allah?” He will answer, “Glory be to You! How could I ever say what I had no right to say? If I had said such a thing, you would have certainly known it. You know what is ˹hidden˺ within me, but I do not know what is within You. Indeed, You ˹alone˺ are the Knower of all unseen.
-God knows if Jesus did or did not, but to let his worshipers hear the truth from Jesus mouth...
so that Matthew 7: 22-23 may come after this verse as in (please help us we did miracles in your name, you can't leave us like that... please lord lord.. and he will tell them away from me evil doers I never knew you"
or Matthew 22-23 comes first in day of Judgement they will come and ask Jesus Lord lord, and then God will ask Jesus before them "did you say ..."
    all link to the bridesmaids
"Later the other bridesmaids came also, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open to us.’ 12 But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I do not know you.’ 13 Keep awake therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour."
the wall (in Quran) =the door (in the Gospel)
But Tabor said all this subtly
he started by saying "allllllllllllllllllll nations will be gathered on that day"
he made emphasis on that too why? I think Paul did not realize it...
Dr. Tabor may may have had in mind also this Verse In Quran:
"And you will see every nation kneeling [from fear]. Every nation will be called to its record [and told], "Today you will be recompensed for what you used to do."
Dr. may meant only "did you say take me and my mother as ..." verse, or the nations all well be gathered and judged by their deeds not by the blood etc..
    or both..
if so it means, though he is not scholar of Quran, he has good knoweldge of it... or maybe he meant one reference and I just draw more parallel from the Bridesmaids verses!!
Great video, thank you both Paul and Dr. Tabor, may God (Allaha in Aramaic, Allah in Arabic) grant both of you light, wisdom, mercy, love and above all guidance and all of us amin.
    thanks

dont take Jesus and his mother as deity (catholic do,) they pray to Mary,

Seek, brother, Allah in the Quran says stop saying three "to the trinitarian"..but also he in another verse, addressed the other group who venerate and worship God throw Mary.. I am surprised that you affirm that no one worship Mary! I have seen with my eyes.. they stand and kneel and pray to her statues .. they carry picture of her in their wallets, hand bags...
Some pagan Arabs at that time knew that, how would Allah (or Muhammad pbuh ignore that fact?
If Muhammad pbuh copied the bible, which you have insinuate many times, then how could it agree with some minute details that can be found in the bible, and deny major creed crucifixion which was believed by many even pagan Arab heard of it.
Why would a false prophet care for that... or care to praise a Jew woman Mary peace be upon her.
Quran shows that Allah chose Mary as the best woman of her time (the only female mentioned by name in the Quran ) and never mentioned Muhammad's own Wife whom he loved and was the first Human to believe in him and or Abu Baker (the first man who believed in his message.. or his own daughter Fatimah?
      this is deduction using inference..
There are plenty of example where Quran corrected the bible (and never copied errors in the bible..) that is another sign.. never mentioned an incest stories in the bible.. why not .. a copier would do that..
I am reasoning by inference and deduction.. (notice I don't preach I just use logical argument)

Jesus in the Bible was a Muslim because he preached and worshiped only ONE God exactly the same way Muslims preach and worship ONE God (pure monotheism).
