    We've been using ours for a couple years for summer camping. 400 degrees is about the max, but if it's breezy, it has a hard time getting up that high, and we've struggled to keep it above 300 or 350. We do have plans to build a wind-break to help it maintain temps.

    Thank you videos always help. I do have a suggestion though.maybe in future videos you can actually cook and bake things and edit out the time but state how long it took and if the oven actually works well enough etc. just a thought. It would be nice to know.

    Nice video, thanks for posting. Some camp stoves run about $100.00, so the oven is really not that much more for what it costs (as of right now $208.00 on Amazon).

    Nice. What would be great to see is a demonstration of your cooking of fav dishes and how long it takes to heat up and bake a casserole for example, or cinnamon buns. Show where and how do you prep food dish for the camp chef usage? What are the dimensions? You start the oven flame by knob electronic lighter? Has temperature gauge? Thank you!

    I wrap the 1lb. lp cannister and the regulator in a towel and store it in the oven. I also have the carrying bag which eliminates the rattling top complaint.

    • @jerrybleeg8297
      @jerrybleeg8297 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have mine mounted on a pull out wood shelf in my teardrop. It does not get hot on the bottom. Has not been a problem. My main complaint about this unit is the top burners are easily blown out with a breeze. If you are camping in a windy location, forget about using the two top burners. I wish the burners worked more like my Coleman Propane camp stove. But I do like the oven feature a lot. Fun to make or bake stuff in it.

    They advertise those ovens as for outdoor use only. I'm really wondering why? The only thing I can think of is that maybe it needs more clearance around it than an oven that's built to go between lower cabinets.

    Great video.. I have one oven Camp Chef.
    But how can I keep the temperature fixed at 400 for example, and that it does not continue to rise?

    • @hgj2019
      @hgj2019 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jose, that is one issue I found with my oven. I was disappointed to find that there is no “thermostat” function as we have with home ovens. You just have to watch the thermometer on front of the oven and adjust the gas or open the door to add or remove heat in the oven.
      At least this was my solution. If anyone else knows something about the oven I don’t know I would really like to hear it.
      To me, even with having to watch the temp and adjust I’m ok with it because the oven is so handy.

    • @cindymeyer838
      @cindymeyer838 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I read on a review that the person sewed an insulating blanket and wrapped around the stove. Then tested temp which was close to 500 degrees.

      Well, maybe not KILL you, but it won’t help you. Of course, it. OULD kill you. Carbon monoxide is the problem, as with the combustion of any fuel, it is always a by-product. IF you have supplemental ventilation, and maybe even a CO detector you should be okay. I use mine in my CTC, but keep outside air flowing into the camper.

    I was very disappointed with the device. The burners could not withstand wind and the flame burned regularly in the burner. There were no flames outside the burner. (Dangerous) The windshields are almost useless for keeping the wind away. The burners have too little power. You may like the device indoors, but outdoors it doesn't meet the requirements of a camping device. After 30 minutes the oven was only 165 C. I've never had it at 180 C. The handles are very shallow and not convenient for such a heavy device. More than 15 kg.
