@missconstruct6968 People who follow those particular paths in life tend to lack any form of self-awareness or intelligence. No point in searching for logic behind their actions.
I don't think their issue was that they were just being criticized. I think it was because there was real time reporting of their exact whereabouts and what they were up to. To them this could have probably caused a hindrance in whatever nefarious crimes they were committing. Say they were trying to steal cars, heist a storage truck, or rob a place, it's more difficult to do these things when people are aware and can take precautions by protecting themselves or going somewhere else. The Ricky Calderon thing just reads as a lonely guy adding a girl because he thinks having a woman with him in a restaurant like that would make him look less weird than if he was all alone.
As for the last one, my assumption is that whoever was editing the typhoon video segment for the news report was also editing the video for the split faced woman and somehow ended up with that frame left over in the new video, either through accidentally importing the wrong thing into the video editing software, or more likely, by reusing the old project file and just deleting the previous video in order to use it as some sort of template to make editing the typhoon video faster, since they may have been rushing to meet a very fast deadline given the situation. That frame not being found anywhere could easily be attributed to it just being from footage that didn't actually get used in the final cut of the video. That frame could have ended up clipped off of the end of some footage by mistake and "covered" by some other clip in the timeline making it not actually show up in the split faced woman video. Timelines when making a video can get a bit, hectic, sometimes depending on what is being done. Normally you'd catch something like that watching back through the project before you render it, or watching it after you render it before you send it off, but its possible the editor didn't have time.
One that always freaks me out is a case in BC, Canada where an entire family went missing on the Highway of Tears. The RCMP couldn’t even find their bodies. The man most likely the killer lured the family with work and unrealistic claims about such work (Daycare at a logging mill). He most likely had already killed as nobody knew who he was, that takes practice. The RCMP said after years of combing through cold cases along the Highway that there’s most likely more than 2 serial killers. The Highway of Tears is incredibly remote and have signs that warn women of hitchhiking there, it’s awful how many indigenous women go missing there
@@virginiaelizabeth4577it's the Jack family, I never heard of the case until browsing a Canadian unsolved cases site earlier this week, so seeing someone mention it here is wild
BC is an infohazard all on its own. Such a remote/sparse place relative to both its population count, and the population density of just about everywhere else in the developed/1st world (except places like Alaska/the yukon). And there's so much wilderness. It's literally a serial killer's dream. I'm sure there are soooo many unreported cases. Highway of tears is the tip of the iceberg in that it is simply the most overt. Then there's Vancouver Island--half of the island, specifically the north, is pure wilderness, with only a few port towns here and there consisting of a few hundred or thousand people at most.
I honestly have no doubts that it could possibly be a full fledged “business” doing human trafficking. My guess is they have multiple people they switch out to abduct victims making it hard to pinpoint suspects.

Loved the Sakura Stardust shoutout. She's one of those creators who makes some really great Japanese mystery and dark events videos. And about the entry about the Mexican cartel is so disheartening. I wish the cartels down there would be curbed.
I wouldn't think so because the few that look like real women look as if even they are facing him, right across from him and smiling (going by the part that is showing) as the picture is being taken. Honestly, I think they're just doing it to get more engagement with their reviews or maybe to have something extra that makes them show up in more searches of reviews. People have a weird obsession with the attention they get online so having your reviews be the ones popping up the most in something like Google reviews would satisfy that for some people. It sounds odd but if you've spent even 5 minutes online, you know that I'm right about the attention thing- many folks want that attention even if it's not something personal, like FB or IG.
@@mommy2librasThat's very true as far as the attention getting thing or trolling, but even then it's still weird and a little creepy that that's the idea that came to mind to farm the attention.
Unsure if you're just meme-ing for the pun, but traditionally an "Info Hazard" is a warning for things along the lines of, "Once you learn/see this, you will lose the blessings of ignorance you had before." That can be anything from as simple as learning your favorite actor is actually a major dick, to what's actually in a food you like, to "cursed" videos/images or conspiracy theories. So I think Lazy put it here for the "cursed" image in the last story that YT hilariously made the thumbnail. Just a heads up for the superstitious who read this.
@@CappyMorgan I think info hazard/cognitohazard has lost its original meaning. it used to be something that would put you in danger now that you know certain information. kinda like The Game but worse
It's actually just clickbait. True infohazarads are subjects that intelligence agencies actively strive to suppress. These include things like whatever compromises national security, anything that would be a danger to VIPs, recipes for homemade weapons, etc. You won't find legit infohazards on youtube. The memes can be fun though for sure.
There's a LOT of media online made by people who get aroused by it. Often times it's not even explicit or obvious. It could be an Ai, but coming from a previous DeviantArt user, yes it gets the reviewer off.
I feel like the Ricky Calderon one is just a hyper-specific f*tish thing, like the one guy who went viral years ago for repeatedly commissioning art of women cutting down trees and eating Wonder Bread lmao

For that last one: I work in a news station (not one in Japan, but one nonetheless) and so many things fucking glitch out all the time and can look creepy when they do. During the Crowdstrike outage, on one of the channels there was just a creepy still frame that just showed Alfred Hitchcock, but it was like the first few frames where it was just about to fade in, so it was creepy as all hell. Not to mention we could only see it on the TV and not on our monitors. It was probably from a commercial for the haunted house that was supposed to play or was playing during the regular programming, and something glitched out with the system they used to override the programming for the special weather cut in to where it showed just that frame for a split second.
I have ALS and have recently discovered your channel. This is the best TH-cam channel I have ever found. Top notch, professional , well edited and extremely well narrated. Thanks for helping me pass my time.
@@TheQueenOfShebaWhich is crazy, considering how popular true crime content is. You’d think TH-cam would take advantage of the popularity but instead, they try to hinder it.
If you are looking for downright traumatic descriptions of true crime, I gotta suggest checking out Disturban - His voice and cadence just makes it that much more haunting when he, well, goes into the f****** gory details sells it 100%.
Its called crime. Not "true" crime. Unless you are lying about the details. We dont call it "true" sports, or "true" music stories. So it's just crime. In fact, its just "murder" really. Because with these so called true crime stories its almost always about murders. Mass murder, serial killers, unsolved murders, and missing - presumed murdered. Anyway, we can drop the "true" prefix.
If anyones interested in the details of what goes on in cartel torture/murder videos i recommend watching Disturbed Reality here on youtube. He describes in detail what happens and the stories behind it all. Theres descriptions of other types of shocking videos too such as horrific accidents and non cartel murders etc. I know the real videos are tempting to watch but not everyone wants to carry those images in their brain forever so Disturbed Reality videos are ideal to satisfy the curiosity without seeing it.
As a seasoned snuff watcher i also recommend not to look it up if you've never seen that kind of stuff. It's something very easy to "dive into" and some people are negatively affected by seeing that stuff. Cartel videos are the worst of the worst.
@@tootsownhorn5874 Theyre not worst of the worst. SA videos are. Most of the cartel videos involve people who were somehow connected to the cartel, and thus in the game, so I dont really feel as bad.
Hey, just so you know, the correct Spanish pronunciation for the region where Francisca was from would be "Franthisca", not "Franthithca". Your way of saying it might be used in the far south of the peninsula, but Extremadura doesn't have that ceceo. Kudos for trying, you were really close!
Thank you for pointing this out in a kind way that educates on the correct pronunciation, unlike many other commenters. I’ll admit it was distracting, but when someone is trying and being considerate, there’s no need to be insulting or nasty when letting the creator know.
I love watching your videos and learning of new things I didn’t know, despite the ending of the cases. I really hope the admin of that Facebook group is safe and he wasn’t caught off guard by the cartels🥺
my theory on the google review guy is that it's run by a real person who knows that when a photo has a woman in it, it'll get more interaction. he edits women in the photos only partially so it looks like an accident, eg someone using the selfie camera and accidentally leaving part of their face in. there's a thing where if you get interaction ie get marked "helpful" in Google reviews, you can get a little bit of money (usually only a few cents). however, if this guy is farming interaction he may be making more then a few cents on each image if it gets a good amount of "helpful" marks from people who saw a woman and marked it helpful just because. just my two cents :)
Never ever could I have ever predicted seeing Felina and Valor por Tamaulipas in a gringo’s channel 😭😭 Tamaulipas girl here, both of their twitters were about news, shootings, dangerous or suspicious situations in the city, car hijackings, missing persons, etc. but what got on the cartel’s was the pictures of their members and leaders being shot and killed, and being mocked for it. Felina specially since a lot of cartel members came injured to the hospital she worked at. Both of them, and many other similar pages, did a great service to my city, I’m forever greatful for their bravery since they did what they could to keep the city safe and informed since the media and authorities would not. Living through the 2010’s in Tamaulipas that was crowned twice as the most dangerous place on earth, more so than active war zones, was a unique type of hell
Thank you for covering the Gracie Mae Thomas story! I didn't know anything about it, but it helps me further drive home the point that my mom and stepfather shouldn't believe everything they read on the Internet.
Lazy, I’ve noticed this before but haven’t said it, but the Francisca segment reminded me - I appreciate how you always try to use the region/language-accurate pronunciation of foreign names! So many video essays butcher any names that aren’t familiar to English and don’t even try - I appreciate the fact that you make the effort 🩷
It's odd because individuals are mocking him for this pronunciation. The top comments indicate this. Was his pronunciation correct, or perhaps it was the tone of an attempted accent? I'm solely an English speaker. I do not try myself.
The Ricky Calderon section really unnerved me for some reason, and made me start to think I might have developed a phobia for the top half of peoples' faces, likely owed to stuff like "The Dawn is Your Enemy" and whatnot
The image in the Mie TV Broadcast story from Japan -- If you look in the mirror, there are actually two women fleeing. You can see the back of the head of the woman facing the camera, and another woman looking over her shoulder out of camera shot.
I'm glad someone pointed this out, cuz I was like, "are we not gonna talk about what's going on in the mirror...? Something's different here.." Without pausing on it and actually examining it, at first it looked like a weird photoshop that didn't match what was going on in front of it.
Finally, a family who's actually smart enough to make a missing person's report immediately instead of waiting on their asses; thinking it's unnecessary to immediately make one.
amber alerts are only done if theres substantial belief a kidnapping occurred. usually if they're seen getting into a car or something. many missing teens do not get amber alerts, but yeah I normally just search up the persons name immediately for more info.
@@barbrothers2 unfortunately there aren’t many other ways to confirm if it’s legit other than seeing other reports. Official channels are always the best bet, but there’s nothing necessarily wrong with just checking if information is consistent on posts. I just walked out of the movie theater to find my car has been stolen. So I'm sitting outside waiting for a friend to come pick me up and I'm so grateful for this video to distract me. ❤
Hi there! Just wanted to send you my condolences. I’m sorry about your rough circumstances tonight. I hope everything works out for you, and be safe :)
Dang. That’s horrible. I hope you got home safe. And whatever happens, just remember you’ll get a better, likely newer, car out of this. 😉 Just be grateful you weren’t there when they arrived.
17:57 this is actually happening on Instagram. Bunch of pages showing up posting videos of children on hospitals beds asking for donations to a PayPal accounts. “ click three buttons to help Timmy” it’s the same with Animal pages. A lot of them are asking for donations to PayPal’s. Asking for money for food and supplies. Like why would they pick up dogs if they couldn’t care for them. It’s odd. There’s also another one where it’s a sick pet needing money for a surgery. It’s disgusting how low these scammers go. It’s dumb too because a lot of the pages re use the same videos 😭
The whole 2nd story struck me hard. I am from Puebla, which is near Mexico City. It is more peaceful there, but I know I might not be able to bring my future children or husband there. I have told my fiancé about my plans to drive there to see my family again, but he is fearful about my fate. The cartels are extremely dangerous and they will force you to join them. If you don’t agree to join, they will off you and your family. Be careful if you go to Mexico. It is very beautiful, but stay in tourist areas.
The Ricky Calderon one gives me eerie vibes, like it could be a serial killer documenting his victims. But thankfully if it WAS I feel you would be aware of women going missing in those areas and have added that to the video!
I love how you not only have great narrating skills, but also give warnings for scams, I personally would have tapped on a link like the one you showed, so that was informative, you also give a shout out to other content creators which is such a nice and supportive thing to do. All this and you make it entertaining. Great channel, I have been subscribed for a few years now, keep up the great work.
VpT, and many other citizens who combat cartels, are so incredibly brave. They risk their lives to make sure that the people can survive the best they can in a world where the police are corrupt and the government has abandoned them to be terrorized by crime. It’s a horrific situation to be a part of and yet their courage is undying until their last breaths.
I wonder if anyone's tried doing a search on those "Gracie Mae" photos... I would have been SUPER suspicious, personally, for a "found safe" notification on what appears to be an obituary website 🤔 That Ricky Calderon one is WEIRD!
Ah, finally another Disturbing things you found on the internet video! Can never wait for these to drop, they’re so good! It’s their biggest flaw actually; there’s never enough of them, and they’re never long enough!! 😻😹
Thank you for doing some different mysteries, I haven't heard of any of these. As far as that typhoon one goes, it was definitely a shot from a haunted attraction. Maybe not the specific one people have theorized but definitely from one
she couldn't save (I assume someone from the cartel's) kid (who died on his way to the hospital), so they took her along with three other people for failing to save him, then forced her to show them her phone and that's how they saw her twitter and discovered it was her
The last story - I think it's so very Japanese lol We love our yokai and haunted walks - it looks exactly like something that would be in one to capture getting scared and then like.. by the print afterwards XD
Regarding Francisca, I am leaning more to an awful accident. The region of Extremadura is veeeery safe. It’s also very rural, especially in between the towns like Merida and Zafra, and cities like Badajoz and Caceres, which although are cities, are very small!! It’s basically mostly country side… I feel like it would be very unlikely that a killer would be driving through that region and would attempt to either take or harm her

Sensible take. Probably something like this.
The Highway of Tears is incredibly remote and have signs that warn women of hitchhiking there, it’s awful how many indigenous women go missing there
what's the name of the family? the jaimeson family case is similar altho they found their bodies but that just made it more peculiar.
If I go missing I’d rather have children who are good at playing hide and seek looking for me rather than the RCMP.

I feel like Ricky is disguising his creepshots among weird Photoshops.
But why uploading creepshots on google reviews tho?
@@mommy2librashe's uploaded a few creepshots too.
@@mommy2librasThat's very true as far as the attention getting thing or trolling, but even then it's still weird and a little creepy that that's the idea that came to mind to farm the attention.

Unsure if you're just meme-ing for the pun, but traditionally an "Info Hazard" is a warning for things along the lines of, "Once you learn/see this, you will lose the blessings of ignorance you had before."
That can be anything from as simple as learning your favorite actor is actually a major dick, to what's actually in a food you like, to "cursed" videos/images or conspiracy theories.

For that last one:
I work in a news station (not one in Japan, but one nonetheless) and so many things fucking glitch out all the time and can look creepy when they do.

Anyway, we can drop the "true" prefix.

my theory on the google review guy is that it's run by a real person who knows that when a photo has a woman in it, it'll get more interaction. he edits women in the photos only partially so it looks like an accident, eg someone using the selfie camera and accidentally leaving part of their face in.
there's a thing where if you get interaction ie get marked "helpful" in Google reviews, you can get a little bit of money (usually only a few cents). however, if this guy is farming interaction he may be making more then a few cents on each image if it gets a good amount of "helpful" marks from people who saw a woman and marked it helpful just because. just my two cents :)

Calderon's pics have the same vibe as talking to an Oblivion NPC, where the game just zooms in on their face and there's an uncanny valley effect.
Regarding Francisca, I am leaning more to an awful accident. The region of Extremadura is veeeery safe. It’s also very rural, especially in between the towns like Merida and Zafra, and cities like Badajoz and Caceres, which although are cities, are very small!! It’s basically mostly country side… I feel like it would be very unlikely that a killer would be driving through that region and would attempt to either take or harm her
that reasoning could probably go either way. going to a place that rural could make it at least slightly easier, right?
I mean, out of all the weird fetishes that exist on the internet, getting excited by forehead pics honestly is pretty tame in comparison lol.
