    I have a 2012. I’m changing mine this weekend. How many miles were on the vehicle when you changed them? Thanks for this video!

    Hi bro, should I disconnect the car battery before changing the spark plugs? I'm not sure.

    Hey there! Quick question: What difference does it make to put or not to put grease on them?

    • @lsx2ss
      @lsx2ss 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Some people use anti-seize on the threads of spark plugs to help them from getting stuck and almost to make the next change alittle easier.
      Some people and even car manufacturers use spark plug grease on the back end of the spark plug where the car’s wires/ignition coils attach to reduce the likelihood of moisture and help with the spark plug’s spark/connection.
      Neither of these are required, but would definitely help if you wanted to go the extra mile.
      Hope that helped 🤟🏿

      Always use anti-seize on your plugs unless they come with a crush washer and the manufacturer recommends just to tighten until firm and then another quarter turn.

    I'm curious to know why wires weren't changed as well. Thanks

      The wires weren't damaged and there is no issue with power getting to the plugs!

    Changed my spark plugs and the shaky car went away. It runs good. The check engine light is still on though. Does it take a bit of driving before it turns off or did I do something wrong in the repair process? Thanks

      Check the code first. Then remove the negative wire from battery for 10 seconds

    Aren't u supposed to have a torque wrench or something for that? Or am I thinking of something else lol??

    Hey Ben , how many miles on the car ? mine has 61000 , should I replace them ? Just wondering .

      I read the plugs are not scheduled to be changed until 97,500 miles on the Sonatas. They are iridium plugs so they don’t wear out as quick as others.

    Shouldn’t drop the plugs in there like that.

    • @bdufrene27
      @bdufrene27 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      How should you do it then?? I'm asking so I make sure I do it correctly if this isn't the correct way. Thanks!

    • @bdufrene27
      @bdufrene27 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just saw him drop it in there in the 4th cylinder is that what you mean by that??

    • @asdquet
      @asdquet 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@bdufrene27 Use a spark plug socket. A spark plug socket will grip the plug and not allow it to drop. You can lower the plug to the cylinder head using the socket on an extension, then screw it in. Same for removing it; a spark plug socket will grip it and you just lift it out with the socket. Don't use pliers like this guy. Also, he should be using a torque wrench to tighten them. This video is the poor-man way, not the proper way.

    Commercial was WAY too long. I muted it and waited for it to be over then wrote this and exited out. Didn't watch the video.
