Hi. Your video looks good but it doesn't help me, unfortunately. I have a 2009 iMac which I wish to get working again. The original hard drive failed so I have replaced it with a brand new SSD. However, I just have an ordinary keyboard and not a Mac keyboard. I have connected the iMac via ethernet to a fast Internet connection and tried on a variety of keys as it's starting (Alt, R etc) but nothing works... I still get the question mark flashing at me. How best to install a new OS, please? Thanks for your time.
Don’t know if you will see this but you seem to know what you are talking about, I just bought a MacBook Air m1 and when I go into the Reinstall Mac OS Monterey it says The recovery server could not be contacted. I have tried fixing the date, my internet is connected, I’m not sure what the problem is
@@dengineergsmunlock I ended up calling apple tech support and they fixed it in like 5 minutes, I forgot exactly what I did but they walked me through everything and was great help.

I got all the way to re-enstalling my Mac OS High Sierra and I get this message: The recovery server could not be contacted I purchased thumb drive with High Sierra on it but when I use that in this process it tells me that my drive is locked? What is going on????????
What if I accidentally deleted the disk formatted for it, the Mac OS extended (jounaled) so when it goes to install it can't pull up format to download it too?

Hi, i bought a older IMac 2017 after watching your video I thought this was perfect i need to reset the computer to the original OS (i believe the Ventura is slowing the machine down and cannot upgrade my memory) anyways after booting up holding the Shift+Option+CMD+R i get a dialog box that has 4 options Restore from Time Machine, Reinstall mac OS, get help online, Disk utility, i can move up and down on the options listed with the keyboard but after selection is made and i hit enter nothing happens, then i realized hit Tab i briefly see the "Continue" highlighted then i hit enter and still nothing. i thought this was the answer because i already did the CMD R last week and was able to reset to the lastest OS but again wanted to go back further...any thoughts???

Thanks for your great video! Due to frequent black screen after crashing, even crashed in Safe mode, I've made up my mind to reinstall the Monterey. It's said that the Monterey has Memory Management bug, however, I'm not sure these experienced crashes have anything to do with that bug. Reinstallation of Monterey on my MacBook Pro (A1708, EMC 2978) always gets stuck on Remaining 29 minutes, no matter which way I've tried. I've even tried to erase the Macintosh HD volume, but it doesn't help either. Now I can not start in Safe mode. Some video mentioned that the wrong date or hard disk failure can result in stuck on reinstallation. After entering the Recovery mode, the "date" command shows the right date on the Terminal. And I made a shell script that looped 1,000,000 times to append some string to a text file. In the end that text file is 1.4 GB big, which might indicate the Macintosh HD - Data volume is good. Can you shed some light on it? Thanks in advance!
I am in group one and when I press any of the combos shown in the video it takes me to a black screen where it is asking me to select a network. I select my home’s network (wireless) and then it asks me for a password *a lock symbol is next to the paseord box so I enter the password to unlock the macbook but then it just stays there with the wheel thing going in circles…

I have a MacBook M2, when I tried this it got stuck at the Mac OS install screen. A "continue" button came up, I pressed it and half an hour later the same screen was showing but nothing was happening.
Will the data be automatically transferred with the reinstall? I want cloud OFF. Problem is an archive was created that is all messed up now, accidentally deleted, and some videos in my pictures folder are now dot move instead and won't play. Videos (some) moved to my external drive won't play either. Since the original archive was deleted, everything is messed up now. Everything, because I was getting confused. I may have to open up cloud after the reinstall and then try to archive again. Any videos showing how to create an archive on a 2012 Mac Mini? I'm desperate. I don't want cloud, but may have to use it to backup what I have and then bring it back down again after I delete duplicates, so that I have space again. Worried that it'll still have these dot move extensions though? Will it? And will a time machine data transfer do the same? I know the externals that aren't connected to time machine will still be dot mov. Thanks!

Extremely Urgent Help Request.....Could you please help with regards to MaOS X which I have had for a long time. I think I must have done something terribly wrong because I am not able to see anything when I open my Mac. So what I did was to use the DVD that came with this Mac when I bought it, hoping that it will re-install the original version of MacOS X. So after I inserted the DVD, it asked me to choose the language, then after that it asked me to continue when the installing, then immediately after I pressed the Agree, after Agree it asked me to choose where to install it but that window was completely empty on no HD or anything else showing at all. Which leads me to believe that I might have Erased some of the most important things on the computer. Also on the original installation DVD is actually MacOS X but when I tried to do the installing it show MacOS Snow Leopard. Also when I tried to get the MacOS recovery widow nothing ever comes up, even though I tried Command R, Option R Command Shift, Option R, the screen is completely blank. I am very confused and I have no idea what to do next so any kind of help that you could please offer me will be greatly appreciated. I look forward to hear from you soon. Kind regards John E

I have an iMac intel based mid 2011 that I'm trying to refresh to sell. Every time I try to reinstall any OS option, the installation progress bar will reach the end, looking like it's hit 100% but then remains there and the duration shows -399 seconds remaining. This happens every time try to reinstall the OS. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I just tried the recovery from internet option by pressing the cmd shift option and R keys and this allowed me to reinstall the original OS that came with the system via Internet! Seems to be working and has gotten further than the install progress bar!
'on any Mac'...except one that has no Wifi because the new Mac operating system has bolloxed it all up... what about the option of doing it with a Snow Leopard disc and a superdrive?...why does nobody cover that? (Apologies but this is about the 20th video I've been on that explains the same bloody process which requires internet connection).

so i bought a 2010 macbook air from a buddy and he ended up erasing everything off the computer without a back up and now it will not allow me to reinstall mac os specifically high sierra can anyone help me out if so we can communicate somewhere else

If you’re upset that a 13 year old Mac won’t boot then you need to adjust your expectations for how long things last.

I have an iMac intel based mid 2011 that I'm trying to refresh to sell. Every time I try to reinstall any OS option, the installation progress bar will reach the end, looking like it's hit 100% but then remains there and the duration shows -399 seconds remaining. This happens every time try to reinstall the OS. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Your hard drive is failing. Computers don’t last that long
@@TechTalkAmerica actually, that's not the case. I just tried the recovery from internet option by pressing the cmd shift option and R keys and this allowed me to reinstall the original OS that came with the system via Internet! Seems to be working and has gotten further than the install progress bar!
Got a Mac Mini late 2014 where I've changed both disks. And this video didn't help at all.
'on any Mac'...except one that has no Wifi because the new Mac operating system has bolloxed it all up... what about the option of doing it with a Snow Leopard disc and a superdrive?...why does nobody cover that? (Apologies but this is about the 20th video I've been on that explains the same bloody process which requires internet connection).

I need to apply a downgrade from mac os ventura to mac os monterrey, I have used the booteablo usbs in my previews laptops but a friend told something about the Chip t2. He advertised me that something could fail if I dont do the right process and laptop would stay unusable, any information about it? thank you

Um... I have the M1 chip, and you talk about the OS install but what about the data from my backup... is that the migrate step in the new OS configuration? Will I need my "old" password and will my accounts be set up?

well that did not even close to work....comand R sent me ack to el captain and got stuck in a endless can not download boot.

Nope. It’s an archive and install so your data is safe
