Hi Lexi, have you tried applying foundation and loose powder on your face prior to applying this lip & cheek balm? Since the consistency is a bit sticky, wouldn’t it rubs off the powder & foundation or looks patchy?
I’ve combination oily skin and living in humid climate, so I do have the habit of applying loose powder to set makeup.
If only apply loose powder on top of this lip & cheek balm, will it show patchiness?

Hi Lexi thank you for this video! I have to really applaud Chanel for their new “eco-friendly” approach to their products. I’m incredibly impressed and appreciative of their attention to every detail in this development. I typically stay away from Chanel skincare because of the heavy fragrance, it’s terrible for my asthma and allergies, but I may have to try this if the fragrance is now lighter. I wouldn’t have known any of this without your video, so thank you!

Lighter fragrance sounds good to me! I would love to see a fragrance free line from Chanel for people with rosacea, allergies, asthma, or sensitive skin in general. I initially hoped the dermatologist collaboration, Solution 10 de Chanel, might have been the start to that but they haven’t expanded on it yet and it’s been a long time now.

Great video! I am looking forward to your follow up about the skincare. I am impressed that Chanel is introducing refillable skincare and reducing fragrance in its products. The Camélia line seems promising. I am surprised at the number of new products being released by Chanel, all at once. I realize that things had slowed to a crawl over the last 2 years due to the pandemic, but I think it might have been better, marketing wise, to spread out the releases, especially with respect to new blushes - 3 new blush releases in the last 3 weeks! In any case, the foundation looks great. I thank you again and I look forward to your next video.
I completely agree! It was essentially three launches in 48 hours and that is crazy! I wish they had spread it out a bit and I think it would have made sense financially for them to do that also.

Most definitely! That is exactly why I got samples - too much skincare from holiday purchases too but I will definitely be buying some full sizes to mix in to my routine now.

Thank you Lexi! So far I’m having the same experiences with the products. I saw someone else comment- my Vibrant Beige looks very different from your swatches and application. Mine reads like a terracotta with pinky red under tone while on my screen yours looks more dark berry. It’s probably just your lights. I do think the balm color selection is very good. I haven’t tried the skincare samples yet.

Thanks for such a comprehensive review. I have to admit I’m intrigued by this new Chanel line. Really like the pink and red shades of the gel blush/lip color and think they also showed up more beautifully on you. Would you say that the gel blush should be used before powder? If you applied powder after the blush, do you think that the blush and new foundation would lift off? I ask because it seemed to take a bit for the blush to set and, if you didn’t wait long enough, all sorts of bad things might happen. Great review…thanks.
I think applying powder immediately after the blush might make particles stick more strongly in spots but if you let it dry down and apply the powder after, it looks great and helps it set. I will test it out underneath foundation and try out the powder too before I film my update on these products. Thanks Judith!

I’m very intrigued by this line and curious to see if these will make your monthly favs or any updates you’ll have. The camellia lip shade looks so gorgeous on you. Would you say that the lip and cheek balms feel like Jones Road’s miracle balm?
I don't think they feel like the Jones Road. Those feel thinner and less jelly-like. To me, the Jones Road balms feel more like Egyptian Magic if you have ever used that but these feel more a cross between a cream blush and a juicy tube.

Thanks for such a comprehensive and helpful review. Especially applying the skincare too, that cleanser looks so good, only other brand I know of to do powder is Dermalogica which I've used in the past. I think your skin looked really healthy and dewy with the skincare. Appreciate you showing the balms heavily and lightly on the cheeks too, these could even work with the baume essential sticks nicely, yeah less is definitely more with application! 😀

@@LexiJong yeah it's called microexfoliant I think and was great, I say used to as you never know if brands change the formula! I quite fancy the Chanel cleanser, lip & cheek balm and/or the stick lip balm but gonna try wait as trying to be good for January at least, damn Chanel! 😂 The eyeshadow palette is nice but as I've said before, those tweed ones are calling me more (if they get released here in the UK!)

@@LexiJong oh no, that sucks! The Chanel UK site haven't got the spring collection on yet but have the no. 1 and la comete collections. Also, at times in the past, the UK haven't got things you get in the US eg one of the fall 2020 eyeshadow palettes and we don't get the makeup gift sets with those nice red/black bags at Christmas. Doesn't make sense!

Hi Lexi- I just picked up one of the lip and cheek balms yesterday at Ulta- I got Healthy Pink.. it’s very pretty. Might get another one in time. How does this compare to the new balms I saw you trying on over on IG? As far as how they feel and longevity on the lips? Thanks for such in depth reviews💜
I am working on a comparison of those now. These are thicker and a little stickier on the lips than the new lip balms.

Hi Lexi great video. The foundation is beautiful. If i was still looking for glowy one, i would purchase. Its great what we, the people, can do, we force Chanel to create natural line 😜 but i am not interested in Chanel skincare, nor either other main makeup brands skincare, i love my Biologique Recherche skincare. Its quite expensive, but works. It was clever for Chanel to come out with powder cleanser, i love powder cleanser , i have from MBR skincare line. Its really gentle enzyme wash. I Love it. The lip cheek balm, i think maybe great idea, for vacation, on the beach, for easy makeup no makeup look. Overall i think , this line targets younger crowd, as no surprise, since they do all of Chanel, including RTW. They focus on their main customer, young rich Asians, thats how we end up with super skimpy and logo slapped all over clothing collections 🤪 I do like Chanel perfume. I am intrigued by that Red Camellia l’eau bottle. Have a blessed day 🙏🧡

Lexi, on your swatches vital beige and berry boost look very similar. I also bought vital beige and it looks different than yours, more browinie terracotta. Hmmm weird
That is interesting. I wonder if there are batch differences? Vital beige looks very different from berry boost to me but the depth of color is comparable. Perhaps that is making the swatches look similar on the screen.

My Ulta carries the entire permanent Chanel line but was not planning on having LE collections, so I guess some or all of these N1 items are an addition to the permanent line.
These are all permanent. It is a new line from Chanel and is exclusive at the moment to Chanel and Ulta.
The lip/cheek pots strike me as something that won’t be around forever, like the cream blushes, but we shall see. I read somewhere that the RC Blooms are being discontinued. Have you heard that at all? I really hope not.

I did not purchase the Revitalizing Lotion yet. I think it is nice though and will probably pick it up at some point (they were actually sold out when I ordered my other full sizes from this collection). I enjoyed the samples I have used of it but whether it made a difference, it is hard to say. I don't think it is transformative (at least not with the few weeks I used it) but it seems to be a nice prepatory product. I purchased a full size of the serum (haven't started on that bottle yet though, finishing others first) and the cleanser because those are the two stars imo and then next in line for me is the lotion. I find the eye cream and face cream to be nice but not favorites for me. (I also picked up the fragrance). I have not yet tried the serum in mist but might get that later this year after I use up some things. I hope this helps!

I fell in love with the serum in mist from the second it touched my skin.. Really.. I already know, that i would repurchase it as soon as my bottle is empty. Was not really sure, what to expect from the lotion, but I guess it's kind of a toner and essence in one... I ordered it and it arrived today.. But before opening i wanted to be sure.. Thank you Lisa! I am wearing BD01 and the shades overall run a little lighter than other Chanel foundations. With my shade it didn't make a difference and I was able to stick with my usual shade.
How do you compare the balm on cheeks vs Cle de peau balms?
The Cle de Peau balms are a bit drier in texture and have a more matte appearance.
Is it true, that there are only 25 gramm in the powder to foam cleanser?
Yes it is true. It's small! But I use about a quarter teaspoon at a time so my bottle is still going strong. I ordered a full size right after this video. I have to say that I don't love the cap. It is a twist-to-open style but mine is tough to turn when my hands are wet. I will still reorder this cleanser though. It is my favorite so far!

Is this gluten free? I cannot find anything on their website, and anything I use on my hands to apply my skincare and makeup, will eventually end up making me very sick. I cannot get anyone to respond to me either on chanel website, or Ulta. I don’t know how eco friendly I think a product is if they aren’t responsible enough to alert us to possible allergens in said products.I did purchase this but I have been breaking out so I am considering returning it unless I can find out if it’s gluten free or not.
I am not sure which product to which you are referring but the ingredients are listed on the Chanel website. Go to the item and click on More Details. If the product is making you break out though, you may want to return it regardless.

Those pot blushes are a big no for me. Too sticky for my liking. All the reviews I have seen do say the brush application is best.
