Hello Cherie! It’s so lovely. It’s just luminous enough without being too much. It’s just a beautiful foundation. I completely agree.
This foundation looks perfect on you!! The coverage is just perfect: not too much, not too little. That being said, I will be honest: I don’t notice much difference between the colors. One is just a tiny bit lighter than the other. If someone pressed me against the wall and made me choose a color, I would go for the original color you chose, actually. It’s just my preference to go a liiiiiitle bit lighter in general. Just a tad lighter, to the point it’s imperceptible once all the other products go on. The balm looked phenomenal on your cheeks!! The texture seems to be SOOO beautiful!! Gorgeous color too. It looks luminous!! 🤩🤩♥️♥️
I totally agree. I am thrilled with the shade choice but, let’s be entirely honest, had I gone with my instinct at the beginning and what I ordered, I would know absolutely no differently. I am telling you, that lip and cheek balm is insanely good. I never like that kind of a product and I love this one.

I thought that was so interesting, because one’s overall “coloration” may have a lot of contrasts or may not have many at all. I will totally check out that brand. I heard of them, but never looked it up. The brand is Trinny London. 🤗♥️

Hey Rebecca, so weird, I was at the Chanel counter yesterday and the matched me to B30. I am currently self trained. But on line I would have ordered B31 which is warm neutral. 🤩
And what do you think of the B30??? Good match? How interesting. And you and I are always so similar. They went with one to correct my redness which, frankly, I think is because it’s gotten cold out lately and my skin panics. Haha.

Hello Beti, as you could see, had I not stopped into the boutique and gone with my B20 choice, I'd never have known and I'd be LOVING the foundation. So much so, Beti, that I'm KEEPING the b20 TOO!!!! You know? We're TALKING SUBTLE differences that if I weren't doing reviews all the time, no one would know any better and I'd be pleased as punch with my shade choice. The B20 is just such a good all around neutral. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

I really like the shade that she chose for you better than b20. B20 looked too light and didn’t do much to even you out. I wonder if you would have tried b30? I wear b20 in les beige healthy glow and I have lighter skin than you so I would think you need higher. But the br22 looks great and I liked how the balm looked on your cheeks and lips a lot. Do you like how this looks and feels on your skin better than the new ct ? I like this better on you than the ct . Looks more like second skin. Very natural which is what I love when I choose a foundation.
Hello Audra! It’s funny because it always feels better when you’re matched in store. And yet, if I went in today and spoke to someone else, they would likely match me with something else! And I would be equally happy, right? Funny how that works. Do I like this more than Charlotte? Yes. Right now I do. I need to wear the Charlotte in the correct shade that the specialist at nordstrom gave me yesterday. When I put that on I enjoy her foundation more. So I need to take two days this week where I kind of just wear that and then I will be able to say for sure. When the shade is terribly wrong, rather than slightly wrong, it really affects my opinion. Of course, I suppose.

I have been waiting for so long for Ulta to carry Chanel!! I have been saving up my points for a couple of years now and now I have a reason to use them!! I'm really confused on the foundation shade tho...no shade finder like Sephora has so not sure what shade I should get. But I'll have no prob selecting lip glosses or lipsticks!! YES! Agreed. It definitely involves a "knowledge" of the basics of Chanel foundation that is not shared on the Ulta site....or, likely, the Chanel site, if memory serves. One of those "if you know, you know" situations which, I agree, doesn't really jive with what you'd think from Ulta!

I would want you to get a sample first, Antonia! It’s too pricey to take a chance on. Foundations online are honestly SUCH a darn gamble. I always feel like I’m winning with my educated side Kline choices but then I step into the store and their match is always better. Frustrating!

Hello Chrissy! I am already formulating how I am going to compare all of these at the end of foundation month. The only time scent really really bothers me is when it is a perfume from a brand that has nothing to do with fragrance. When it is a French, storied brand that is also a perfume house, it makes more sense to me. And when it dissipates I am usually pretty good with it.

Sephora Canada carries so fewer brands and products compared to the US OR Ulta. I think Ulta was trying to come to Canada and with covid that paused or something. 😫
Wow! Interesting. Sephora is letting people down at every angle. In the US, people complain about the restrictive rewards system. And now I’m hearing that Sephora Canada carries a pittance of what they should be. I think Ulta is indeed trying to make a move on them and that would mean coming to Canada too and maybe Europe. This is going to be an interesting year. We will keep mentioning it. Ulta needs to expand especially if they’re going to start carrying high-end brands.

I’m so glad you reviewed this I started using this last week ( I bought it on the Chanel website.) and I love it. Sheer and natural but you can build it up. That’s why I bought the new hourglass primer. I think it will pair nicely with this foundation and maybe it will have longer wear. Thanks again for another awesome review. :)
Yes yes yes yes. The first thing I thought this morning was that I have got to try the Chanel foundation over the new hourglass primer. And it’s in my head how I can work that new primer into my foundation video. My head is swimming with ways to do a culminating video showing off everything but also somehow using the primer. It’s a big mess right now but I’m gonna make it work. Bear with me ha ha
Can anyone else who has this tell me if it is empty when the pump doesn't pump any more out or if there's loads more in there and how I can get it out? I can't tell if what I can see is a tiny bit left on the sides of the bottle or not
I believe there are. I’ve never tried to get the pump off. Have you tried?

I bought this and another les beiges at the same time and I've clearly instinctively decided this one is better as I've been reaching for it so much more often

Right? I mean, I would NEVER have known the difference if I'd stuck with the B20 but that SLIGHT change....shade choice is so interesting. It DOES make a difference.
Nice to see Chanel in Ulta! Chanel was my first luxury brand and used many Chanel products (skincare to makeup) for years. My struggle with Chanel is their lack of deeper shades and this foundation is reflective of that. While I was able to find a shade and I’ve never not been able to find a matching shade but for deeper than me, they have been problematic. With that, I plan to pick this up because I think Chanel makes a beautiful foundation. I am happy yo see they still have their powder foundation which is gorgeous. I used Chanel’s shade finder tool on their website and I think the match will be perfect.
Please let me know your thoughts when you receive your order, Tracie! I’m so curious. I agree that soooooo many brands have their work cut out for them in making a more inclusive shade range. That is for sure. But I see Chanel making strides. It’s not quick enough but I applaud efforts in that direction. I’m happy to see them at ulta too. That being said, my ulta order arrived with a smashed box in a plastic bubble pack. Not like I’m used to Chanel Beauty arriving!!! Haha. Not the same experience. Unfortunately.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty Oh I hope Ulta does better with their packaging, because when I order Chanel products from chanel or Nordstrom, they are always packed so nicely. I think brands struggle with the undertones with deeper shades. I am deep with golden undertones and I can usually find a match in most foundations. I think brands could benefit from adding an extra intensity. For example, I’m deep golden but could definitely benefit from a deeper golden. Also when brands make the deeper shades, they make them very cool with red undertones, and not every deeper skinned person has cool undertones, many are still quite warm just more golden. It is always a step in the right direction.
@@traciewarren1070 they’d do well to take feedback from people with deeper skin tones. Because, you’re right, there’s these ideas that persist about deeper skin tones that are far far from being accurate and they impede our progress to more inclusive shades! As for packaging and shipping. I have a video of how my Chanel package arrived from Ulta. I don’t quite know what to do with the video just yet because it feels a little bit like, forgive me, I hit piece. So I haven’t put it out there on Instagram or anything yet I’m kind of deciding what to do with it. It is absolutely a completely different experience than you will get ordering Chanel from nordstrom or Chanel boutique. It is a crazy difference and slightly disappointing.
Is this for Lunar New Year? It's definitely geared on the East Asian market. I've seen Camellia products showing up more frequently again starting in 2020 👀so maybe they're following suit

I really love how this foundation looks on you. Even better than the CT one. I think it’s best to go in person to get matched, for sure. The BR 22 suits you better than the B20. I know BD is for golden skin tones. So, too many shades, ( a good thing). Can’t wait to try this. I’m guessing I’m BD31or B30. Lol.
Hello Janice! The in person match really makes all the difference. I think a lot can be done with so many shades using bronzer snd such but when the match is truly spot on, that’s when you can really judge a foundation well, I feel.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty agree. And, I don’t like to bronze my face all the time. I just don’t. I try to get a spot-on shade of foundation. With this one, as well as the CT, I think it’s best to go in person. Plus, I lightened my whole chest area, and the sides of my neck, to blend with my lighter face color. I need to go in person now, lol. Actually, going to go during the week, (less crowded) and check the Chanel one out. Don’t know if CT is here yet.

I have neutral/warm skin and never buy cool toned or rosy foundations... Except in Chanel! For some reason their BRs work best for me too.

I have fun looking at the nuances and shade choices. But, let’s be honest, when the changes are that subtle, you really have a lot of room and it definitely stretches and we always add blush and bronzer. There’s a lot of leeway.

Hello Beti, as you could see, had I not stopped into the boutique and gone with my B20 choice, I'd never have known and I'd be LOVING the foundation. So much so, Beti, that I'm KEEPING the b20 TOO!!!! You know? We're TALKING SUBTLE differences that if I weren't doing reviews all the time, no one would know any better and I'd be pleased as punch with my shade choice. The B20 is just such a good all around neutral. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

Hello Alexandra!! I’m so so so curious about Ulta’s moves here. There has been palpable dissatisfaction with Sephora and their rewards and I feel like Ulta has been perched to make their move. Now they carry Olaplex AND Chanel and every month or so something new. I noted even Good Molecules went to ulta. Now GM is very affordable BUT they’re chic and niche. Not what you’d normally associate with Ulta. This year will be interesting.
Do you know if there are any shades in this line that are a medium olive neutral?

@@wordupbuttercup Hello!! You are going to want a shade that is either B or BD, depending on how warm your olive toned complexion gets. I would likely stick to a shade that starts with B as that is more neutral in tone. Adding in the D accounts for more of a yellow tone but most olive complexions are, as you say, neutral. Within the B range, there are many options as you'll see online but choose, in my opinion, a mid range B shade. As you see in this video, the B20, on me, actually would have worked better if my skin were more olive leaning. That is why we added in the R, a letter you will NOT need in your choice. The R accounted for the slight flush on my cheeks because I am not olive toned. Did that make much sense? So mid range, B letter in front as only letter. But ask more questions if this is all confusing. ❤️

Laura, I gotta tell ya, I bought the lip and cheek balm on a whim because it looked fun. But WHOA!!! That is a fantastic product. As good on cheeks as on lips. And the packaging is so elegant. I’m getting more shades!!!

This foundation looks very natural on you. It gives you a nice glow and the cheek products are nice too. What type of coverage does it have? it looks light to medium to me.
Medium ideally but I apply very little to make it light medium. It can build to nearly full but you know that’s not my jam. Haha. 💕

This foundation looks so good on you. I am going back and forth between this and the CT foundation. I am such a Charlotte Tilbury fan, but this foundation is basically begging me to buy it.
Hello Kim! I love Charlotte too but her complexion products (other than the flawless filter) are always a slight disappointment. The Chanel is really just gorgeous as long as you’re ok with that initial burst of fragrance. It dissipates but it’s there. Other then that, the Chanel is a far better foundation than charlottes, in my opinion 💕
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty yes, that’s what I am noticing from your reviews on them. Typically I only wear mineral sunscreen and some CT powder. But this foundation month is making me want to try a foundation. I have the Dior Airflash for special occasions. But I want to try a great lightweight every day foundation.
@@kimespe8022 Chanel is just amazing but it is extremely pricey and that will put a lot of people off, understandably. A slightly more affordable but really good option is the new Nars. Do not get me wrong, the Charlotte foundation is a good one, this new one and, someone who buys it and is loving it, I totally understand. The only thing I recommend with the Charlotte is to get the color right. And then it is very pretty indeed. We have a perhaps enviable problem of splitting hairs when we talk about which foundation is better. 💕
I have to say it looks very good on you. I picked BR 12 directly from Chanel (UK) and it’s a good colour match. Will be interested in your round up of the various foundations later. I prefer the texture of this foundation to the CT and it’s a better colour match for me.
Hello Amanda! Agreed all around. Texture wise, this is smoother and feels more skin like than the Charlotte. Now that I’ve changed to the Charlotte shade, however, I’m much happier with the foundation. Undertone makes such a difference.
The BR undertone really seems to melt into your skin tone.

Hello Claudia! I really worried, after I edited this video, that it was almost too in depth on the slight difference in shade. But I’m really starting to find that is incredibly important. During the pandemic when we all started doing our own shade choices off a computer, I realize now that in being just slightly off on the shade choice we really end up not enjoying the product as much. Those specialists that can really see with an artist eye make all the difference.

Hello Joanna! Exactly. As long as the scent dissipates and as long as it is from a known perfume house. Like, when Tarte does a fragrance, I can’t handle it. When Guerlain or Chanel does a fragrance and it dissipates, it just makes more sense.

That foundation shade looks sooo natural on you! . That is also one of the reasons why I like it as well. I'm so glad I've purchased it. I will be doing a video of me putting it on my entire face soon. I know some people complain about the price but it's only $2 more than the PMG foundation but STILL cheaper than TF foundations
You are so right, Andrea. I was speaking to them about that at the Chanel boutique. It might have the name Chanel on it but it’s not really all that pricey especially when you look at luxury houses that are just getting into makeup, just to make money frankly, like Louboutin and Valentino. All of a sudden brands like Dior and Chanel really are not all that expensive comparatively.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty omg I've tried the Valentino foundation that has SPF and it irritated my skin (like usual SPF foundations). It also claimed to be waterproof or smudge proof for up to 16 hours but it began to fade on me within 3-4 hours. Smh. Although it was a nice finish I don't think it was worth the price.
The Beauty Blender skin tint is better than the Valentino foundation. Lol
Honestly super luxury houses have no business making makeup. That being said, the word “business “is what it’s about. They think they can make these outrageously priced inferior makeup products and we will all buy them because of the pretty packaging. I’m not saying that I don’t fall for it because I often do. But it’s a shame when houses like Chanel and Dior definitely know what they’re doing when it comes to makeup.

Irit! I got to tell you. Since the pandemic started, I have been doing my own foundation shade choices. This is something I never would have done before with foundation only. I always went in store for foundation. But, when I did it online, it really felt like I was having a lot of success with it. I am now finding, that being in the store, with all of the shades, and the brand expert, is absolutely unbeatable. The slight changes in shade like you did with the Hollywood flawless filter for me and like Chanel did by slightly changing the foundation shade… Those types of changes make all the difference! It’s amazing. And, yes, that lip and cheek balm is sensational. I will be buying more shades. It’s fantastic. I
