- Chanel has released an entirely new line , N°1 DE CHANEL, a new generation of eco-responsible formulas featuring skincare, makeup and a fragrance mist. At the heart of this holistic anti-aging line is Red Camellia Extract. I'll be going in store this week to decide on what skincare to pick up but I did order the foundation and two of the lip/cheek balms. #chanel

I'm a 49 year old with a busy full time job and a blind little pup named Harper who I love dearly. I've always loved makeup, fashion and beauty and worked as a makeup artist while in law school to make extra money...although that was many years ago now. I have dry, rosacea prone skin with wrinkles and skin damage caused by the fact that I'm no longer 20.
I think it did really well at neutralizing your redness without completely covering your skin, which is very pretty by he way! I like this one on you a lot.

Great review! I love this foundation. It’s comfortable, comforting and gives the right amount of glow and coverage for my 46 year old skin.

Hi Alfeisty, We are turning 50 twins this year! Oh my gosh, I can hardly believe it is upon me. When I turned 35 I got my belly button pierced. I can't remember what I did for 40, but I cried. I am not crying this year but definitely 50 is a birthday you must do something fabulous with. Do you have any ideas? What are you going to do. Now about the collection here...I like the lip / cheek balms. I did find it faded a little on the cheeks and still stayed a bit tacky for my taste as compared to the more creamy blush formulations. But I still thought they worked very well with the foundation in the line. I guess I was cheating when I use it on my lips because no matter what I put on my lips I have to have some sort of product to prime my lips / moisturize them. I have been using Dior lip maximizer (and not bc I was bigger lips) it's because I like the formula but it can be rather painful at times! I bought #2 and #4 in the lip / cheek shades. I love them both. I am trying out the skincare line except for the eye cream and moisturizer. I am enjoying the skincare line so far. It smells lightly fragranced and the scent is the same as in the fragrance mist. This is my top fragrance from Chanel now and number 2 is Mademoiselle. :)

Welcome to the fabulous 50’s this year! I’m 55 so halfway to super 60’s 😱. The foundation looks really great on you. I’m loving my new Chanticaille cushion foundation for now that I got on a skinstore sale last month, but may pick this up eventually. Look forward to your view of the whole line. Yes, it’s freezing here in New England right now! Makes me want to buy spring makeup.

After the outrageous debacle regarding their calendar and the arrogant response to the very unhappy buyers - I won't be buying anymore Chanel products.
I thought the calendar was a huge insult to avid Chanel clientele - stickers, bits of plastic, fridge magnets, horrible cheap/tacky rope bracelets etc. Need I say more?
I'm also a tad confused with them implying this is a "clean" collection. The addition of fragrance puts paid to that idea.
You do look so fantastic using these products, I mean, they look amazing.

You can rant whenever you want. I know a lot of people were really insulted by the calendar. I don’t know what they were thinking.
I have to say I’m very impressed with the No. 1 so far, not because of the “clean” designation, I’m not even sure what that really means anymore but because the products work extremely well, as far as I can Tell, on mature skin. I’ll be trying out the skincare and will update you all next month. 😊

I went to my Chanel boutique amd bought the Chanel no 1 fragrance mist and a lipstick. My SA gave me a sample of the foundation to try and I have worn it two days in a row and really love it! I agree, it has a very comfy feel and it makes me look like I have no foundation, just healthy skin. I love that idea, your skin looks lovely too, thanks for the review! :-)

Thank you for this. This foundation looks lovely on you. I’ll also be 50 soon (March) and I have exceptionally dry skin (and live in a place where we get all of the true seasons - so in winter we have very cold outside, dry heat inside…).
I think the skincare line is made/marketed for a younger demo (skin “just starting to show the signs of aging”). But the foundation, face/setting/skincare mist and these balms do appeal to me.
I do wish they’d do more products without fragrance. (The Water Fresh Tint has no fragrance…I thought that was the start of something, but I guess not 😞) 👍❤️🇨🇦❄️
I think nourishing is a great word to describe the foundation. I am loving it and super impressed with this whole collection.

The scent does dissipate quickly. And no. Just my usual la mer soft lotion which I always use as my last step in the morning. But I did have a VERY stressful day. Frankly I was surprised anything was still on my face 😊

I’ve used the foundation the last few days. I really love it for a natural, skin like look. It held up so well today! And you’re not the only one intrigued by the serum mist. It was sold out at my local boutique.
