Me and my mom bought a sweater at a yard sale and forgot about it. Fast forward 6 months and there were 9 $50 gift cards to Walmart in there. We went to return them to previous owner but she had since moved.

suck mybullets you have to be careful with store credit. Now, they check your ID to see if the name on the ID matches the name on the store credit. I know this because I work at HD!
just an FYI, I wouldn't show the pin on those cards as someone has the ammo to use that card now. I also heard that places reuse cards. For example, someone has a GC for $5 uses it and gives it to the store, Then someone earns a GC but the first person saved the numbers from their old card so they are able to use the card again if it was reloaded. When I used to coupon I was told if I received a GC for let's say target from their sale "buy $20 receive a $5 GC" to always ask for a new card because this is an issue.

I do know if I do use all the $ on a gift card that the store would ask if I wanted the card back, If I said no they always threw it in the trash. I thought they recycled them but I guess not all do. Anyway, never thought about the recycling of the card and if someone wrote the number and pin down.

We were even told to never take a photo of the bar code as people could use the coupon as well. I haven't couponed in 5 years but I learned a lot from the couponing community.

Home Depot has changed their policy on store credit cards! They are assigned with ID and ID is required when purchasing anything with it . At least in the IE is that way I bought a store credit card from someone and I couldn't use it

I used to work at Barnes and Noble and where I live in the Midwest, anytime a gift card dropped below a dollar, we gave the change back and threw away the card. So chances are you won't find anything on those unless the cashier goofed up.

Sometimes the visa gift cards are expired and if they have a remaining balance you can usually call and get a new one sent to you. I’ve found like 3 expired Visas at the goodwill bins with balances!
Our Home Depot checks your ID now on “store credit” cards. My husband returned something and got a store credit, like the one you used in the video, I went in a couple weeks later and tried to use it on something and they wouldn’t let me I guess it is stored in their system now and only the person that returned something can use it...
I finally got my daughter to go Saturday night for about 4 hours of dumpster diving. I got about 30 gift cards, 5 bath & body candles 3 never burnt but broken glass, at a half price book store got albums, cds, lots of booksd, a few cassettes, a few little odds & ends from a dollar store, 5 bottles of generic glass cleaner. So it was fun if anything not so much on what we found. But I am still hurting from all the walking. I need to get a different grabber. But also need to grow about 5 or 6 inches so not to have to stand on tip toes just to look into the dumpster. LOL I would say probably 80 percent didn't have the sliding doors. But enjoyed myself with my daughter she is 40.
