- I found Hundreds of Bed Bath & Beyond Gift Cards in the trash! I'm Checking them to see if there's any money on them.

I had found a card among my late mother's stuff. I looked it up and it was $20. So while on vacation, we stopped at a Bed Bath and Beyond in Florida. I found some sheets marked down to $35, so I decided to get them since I'd only be paying $15 and tax. One of the workers helped me with the self checkout as I was figuring out how to put the gift card in. She did it and the next thing I knew she was cashing it out and handing me my receipt. I told her I should owe $15 and tax. She looked and said no, it shows your card had a balance of $37.45 the exact cost of the total. I said thank you and walked out with free $75 king size flannel sheets for next winter.

In my next life I'm going to learn the 10 key like that. Learning how to TYPE with all of my fingers was one of the best things I've ever done. I think that happened in junior high school, sometime mid-century, and 10 key skills would have been a nice addition.

Yes!! The 10 key I forced myself to learn when I was 16 at my first job working at a video store! The scanner wouldn’t work so often that we had to type in these long barcodes so I forced myself not to look and learned it! Turned out to be amaaaazing when I got into accounting! I used it all day every day! 😆 super fast! Now I’m getting clumsy and slow with it now that I don’t use it all day every day 😆

What happened to your scanner?
It only works properly on some stores and this wasn’t one of them or I absolutely would have used it 😆
The ones that say not active probably have never been purchased with a gift amount. they just threw away all their cards as they were out of business
