I had the turbosmart for a while and it’s an instant Whoosh like the gfb/tial/hks. So everyone buying the turbosmart bov because of this video will be in for a surprise. I promise
Nah that's how they sound I've had them on 3 cars plus multiple friends have them and they all sound identical. This is also the sound the oem one makes
Hey no it doesn't throw any codes, the car also flutters with stock BOV it's just harder to hear with stock intake. We don't have smog tests here so I'm unsure sorry

I'm in a covid test line so got time to kill, good review, not sure if I've seen a blow off valve test like this before. The evo 9 has plastic bov prone to boost leaks so I swapped it for a gfb, my tuner just adjusted it to hold higher boost so I'd never touch it in case it screwed my tune
The Evo 9 BOV is the same with the Evo 10 as in the video. Evo 7 and Evo 8 had a plastic one. Evo 8 owner and writing this comment with an Evo 9 BOV literally on my hands :) If you crush a 9 BOV it can even hold more boost, but I swapped it anyway cause I am running a Link ECU without MAF. The VTA I am using is a Nuke Performance 50mm.

Do you mean the APR carbon radiator cooling tray? It's from SSM performance parts here in Australia but if you're overseas you can get it from any APR supplier

I've always been advised to leave the oem until higher power levels, buy the oem is loud af with the ETS intake
The OEM is still a great option but once upping the boost its worth replacing for sure

Yep full recirculating they all are actually as that's what's reccomended for the SST transmission

You won't need a retune but the bov won't be very loud without an intake, it eill make a flutter sound though

I thought flutter is bad and it should be a crisp whoosh sound for it to be adjusted correctly.
Flutter is fine as long as it only happens when releasing the accelerator and not while accelerating

They're a great daily for sure, just do some research on the SST and try to buy one that won't need work done anytime soon

It will flutter as soon as you install it, to make it super loud though you will need an aftermarket intake preferably with an open pod

Never been impressed with the bov of the evos or any modern bov for that matter:/ pshhhh < whistle.. Cant beat turbo sounds of the 90s
You can still get the psssshhh and whistle ones I'm just not a fan of those as much personally
