The story you told about Hitler in WW1 involved a private soldier, not an officer. Pvt Henry Tandy VC was the most highly decorated private of WW1. It was an enjoyable romp of a film, but it bore little resemblance to the real operation, beyond the end result. During the stealing of the ships, no-one on either side died, the ships crews were simply locked in their cabins, there's no record of Anders Larson ever using his bow on operations, there is however one man who carried a long-bow and broadsword in WW2, Major "Mad" Jack Churchill. Although Marjorie Stewart was a real SOE agent, and did marry Gus March-Phillips 5 months before he was KIA, she was not part of Operation Postmaster. I think Guy Richie added her as a salute to the many dozens of female SOE agents, many of whom didn't survive the war, there's an old British film from the 50s about one of them, called "Carve Her Name With Pride".

Appreciate the official history, I kinda figured it wasn't 100% historically accurate haha. Yeah Ive seen the story about mad Jack as well, they don't make them like they used to that's for sure. Thanks for watching!
