8 times more likely to be short. Some things never change. Back in 1972, our golf coach instructed us to keep track of where our approach shots landed for each hole. For the same reason. I still track that today.

I love how they’re bringing the social aspect into tracking. With that feature I could send my friends all my mega 💣’s and do a little playful bragging 👍🏌️

I have a few concerns with the tracking of shots. I use a Garmin Approach S62 watch. I sometimes hit a half shot and it is then recorded as a full shot, I sometimes hit a tree in the fairway and the shot is measured as a full shot, I pitch with anything from 6 iron to lob wedge and these shots are also recorded as full shots. Weather conditions and slope also influence club distances. For me the only accurate data is direction, GIR, Putts and FIR, distances of clubs have no value with these devices unless you can indicate, trees hit, half shots, pitches, chips etc.

We hear you. Garmin has said they were going to make it easier via the app to edit shots or remove them so your club stats won’t sway heavily one way or another. The update should be available within the next 6-12 months.
I know they try and get rid of anomalies from your shots to keep your distance averages regulated.

Romeo, I have the Garmin Approach S60 and I also ise partial shots for all my irons and wedges. My approach for your scenario is this: I define two clubs for each iron and wedge in my equipment. I have “6 iron FS” for full shots and “6 iron PS” for when I hit knock down shot. I do this all the way down to my 60 degree lob. It works very well. I’m not sure if this will work with the CT10 or other trackers as I don’t have one yet.

That is a far more elegant solution than mine, which was to name a club 'crap shot' and assign all those types of shots to it!

I use Garmin S20 watch with CT10 on my wedges and putter. I’m looking for another solution because one of the trackers stopped working after less than 3 months. I’m guessing battery because when I walk with my bag the clubs “ping” my watch. I am wondering if Garmin is going to come out with a newer version of the handheld G 82 that syncs with the CT 10. I really like the way the G 80 has the overview of the course and is a launch monitor. Otherwise, I am just looking for a solution that is all inclusive and I don’t need to use my phone GPS

I am looking at Gametracker with GT2 with Sky Golf 360. What makes it different from others and why is it so much less expensive. Is this a real gps tracking device in real time? Are your shots shown on the gps rangefinder app while playing? Using tags do you have to tap the synced clubs each time ? Is data captured and charts shown in your video showing shot dispersion in the basic purchased item? It also appears you don't need your phone at all during play except to start a round. If you get a phone call do you have to go back and resume the round?

    • @GolfWeekly
      @GolfWeekly  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Robert-
-Yes this is a real time GPS tracker (with the mobile app)
-Yes the shots are shown on the app
-No the tags automatically track the shots
-You need the app for the gps rangefinder functionality
-yep you would have to resume your round after a call.
The 360 functionality adds an additional $30 per year to the cost. So if you use this for 5 years, that’s an additional $150 added to the total cost of ownership.

@@GolfWeekly Hello and thanks for the answers. I have been having a hard time with Sky Golf giving me the straight answers. I thought that I saw the tags having to be tapped, but I do remember something about the sound making the shot record. Are you saying that there are other products that would be cheaper over a 5 year period by not using the 360 functionality, but instead going to a different device? I am not sure what devices do the same thing. Could you please explain.? I am not convinced on this setup yet. There may be better ways to get tracking club data, round data and automatic scoring, and other collection of data for game improvement but I am just jumping all over the place trying hard to decipher it all.

Shotscope v3. No sub required at all. Buy it, install it and that's it. Nothing else to do after that. Only drawback for some players is you must wear the watch on your lead hand, but I wear watches anyway but for others it may be an issue. But a small thing to do for 3-4 hours of golf then take it off again without having to pay any monthly fees

    • @GolfWeekly

They are a leader in the space, but the main thing to consider when purchasing a Zepp is that it attaches to the back of your golf
glove. If it is comfortable for you, then you will be very happy!
