Teaching my son, really been driving home that setup/alignment is 80% of the answer. If setup is bad it’s tough to make a good swing. If alignment is bad chances are a good swing wasted because the ball isn’t going where you want it to go. When we are just out practicing I’ll often place a tee on the ground pointing at the ideal target line for him to line up with. He was surprised by how much better he played, that his misses weren’t bad off line.
Yet another video of very practical advice. I had been doing the grass/divot trick for years, but had never picked targets off the ground until this past season. My mind was focused completely on the ground in front of the ball. The mental shift of trying to hit a target off in the distance and off the ground was a game changer and has helped greatly in committing to the shot.

Since I’ve been aligning the ball for my drives and putts my game has really improved. When putting I align the ball and step back and check with the ball still marked, then quickly adjust if needed. Great advice Matty! Thanks for your channel, you have changed the way I think about golf.

This is such a good video. I don't think I've seen anyone give alignment as thorough an explanation anywhere with as many specific examples. TY for this. As a 23 Handicap, it's always great to see how a low Handicap playa goes about playing the game. Thanks for sharing your processes

Thank you !! Been a huge fan since I started golfing a year and a half ago. I gotta say thanks to your guidance I was finally able to shoot under 100 for the first time just a few days ago. Haha then I proceeded to break my leg playing soccer yesterday but atleast I finally made it happen right on time after watching your break 100 tutorials haha. A few more months and hopefully I will be getting back into it and enjoying the game again ! Much Love ❤

Really useful tips! The thing I struggled the most on my first round saturday was body alignement. I felt like Bdog when you were stopping him before his shots because his body was aiming at the parking lot instead of the flag...any tips on that regard would be amazing!

Not realizing I had piss poor alignment was the biggest roadblock to improving for me. Once I had intention with where I was aimed and ensuring my feet and club face lined up with that, it was like a night and day shift. From duff-slicing (30 yards forward, 10-20 yards to the left) every shot to consistently hitting pure shots to within 10-15 yards laterally of my target. Even when I don't hit it pure, my misses go straight and still go 50-60% of a full shot.
Great comment. I started using his 2 foot putts drill. I can do it for 20-30 minutes and not get bored. I am so much better from 3-6 feet because of it
It would be nice if you could do a course that starts from brand new player and progresses down the line. You've given a lot of help for me and I just want to say, thank you.
I need this reminder everytime i step into the tee box. I'm the worst for paralysis by analysis and then just forgetting the small things that matter most during my round.

I’ve been trying this for awhile but I struggle with getting my stance aligned as when you stand over the ball the alignment looks wrong. Can do a vid on the feet position after you have lined up the ball to target..
Line up club face to target then line up your feet to parallel train tracks. The best way to line up your feet is with an alignment stick between your toes and the ball, running parallel with your feet and target.
Female caddies are really ubiquitous around Thailand etc., Those are usually the ladies you see in his videos. And I believe the lovely blonde lady is part of his production team, she's filmed a few videos with him now and it is great to have the extra camera angles, she's doing a good job for the channel with that.

1ft putt is fantastic drill. You’re spot on, you want to practice the ball going into the hole. You don’t want to practice missing putts.
