CandyEvie Hello! Jinx may be based on Yama-uba (Yamanba) a yokai wich is described as wearinga a tattered red kimono, having whitish-blonde hair, control over snow, dark-colored skin and large lips.
Lucario is based of a jackal an Egyptian animal I think. But yeah, lucario does have the anubis look down. OOOOOOOOO WHAT IF LUCARIO USED A EGYPTIAN WEAPON LIKE THE AT BIG SHARP TIP THING? THAT WOULD BE SO COOL!!!!! I love Egypt and its animals and everything.
Actually Gooey and Slingoo are Dragon types because they are inspired by how dragons were represented by snails in Middle Age manuscripts. Sure, they don't look like typical dragons, but so is Altaria
Actually there is a story of a Snail that was so big that was called a dragon by the size and I think those stories are from France... So makes sense for a Kalos Pseudo Legendary... I mean it's the same reason why Flygon is a Dragon Type
just to let you know Palkia is based on a mythology of a dragon that ruled over the endless space and the dragon flowed like water. plus space is forever expanding and flowing and changing like a river.
Palkia is part water type because it's based on 1 of the 3 forms of matter; with Dialga representing solid, *Palkia* representing liquid, and Giritina representing gas.
But that still doesn't make Palkia a water type cause it's Dex entries say nothing about it or its appearance about water. It's design is clearly a psychic type. It should be psychic! It controls space! Lugia should be water type! In smash it flips the screen upside down kinda what a psychic type would do! The training card game doesn't count! Why?! My head is about to explode!
Yolo 678 the reason it turns the screen around is because it controls Space. And I agree it doesn't really make sense but still, it's the truth, and you can't really change that XD
It was confirmed that they made Lugia a psychic type because it would make it be more powerful because of all the great psychic types in gens 1 and 2. ( also because there weren’t many) they also said that the water flying type was a not a strong typing for lugia, so it was changed to psychic, despite living in the ocean and such.
BlockySquidZ i dont think symbolism is enough to justify typing. palkia itself is in no way related to water, and even if it was, psychic would be much more appropriate
Palkia is the PEARL pokemon. Like, the pokemon of the Pearl game, so it's not that bad that he's water. But by that logic, shouldn't Dialga have been Rock instead of Steel? I mean, diamonds are Rocks, right?
+88Hyo No, doesn't make sense to me. There is no hint in Palkia's design it's a water type. Also, pearls are more associated with psychic stuff. Finally, Dialga has lots of hints towards being a steel type.
atomic fart bubble You could also argue that, in terms of typing, Raikou is the best beast. He beats Suicune, who beats Entei, who is neutral to Raikou.
GURGLEGUY12345 Let's not forget poor Suicune. Weak to one of the beasts while the other one is neutral. Of course, the biggest case of a broken trio is poor Groudon. Stranded on a rock in the ocean, fighting a legendary ocean monster. Then there's Rayquaza who isn't affected by Ground.
Maddox Collins that’s apparently how you evolve Inkay. You wait for it to get to level 30, level it up again but you need to level it up with your DS upside Down I’m not making this up. It’s so silly
Jinx is based off of a legend of a woman who lures young men into snowy forests to kill and eat them. its a similar legend to the one froslass is based off of
They should have switched Lugia’s and Palkia’s secondary types. Water/flying suits Lugia much better, and Dragon/psychic fits Palkia better than dragon/water.
I know exactly why palkia is a dragon water. My first clue; you get it in pokemon *pearl* Its because palkia's design is pearl based and pearls are formed in clams in the ocean so its a water type Same for dialga. True diamonds are formed in the ground but its made with high pressure deep in the ground. Diamonds are so pressured that its stronger and steel
James Rogers not right dialga Palkia and giretina are based on 3 types of matter dialga steel type( solid matter) Palkia water type (liquid matter) and giratina giratina ghost type( gas matter)
Kari Puusaari Wrong. Palkia,Dialga, and Giratina are cosmic matter. Palkia is space,Dialga is time and Giratina is antimatter though he is theorized to be gravity. I mean its in their lore I don't get where everyone is getting the solid, liquid, gas stuff from but it is very wrong.
Scorpion Sub-Zero youre theory doesent explain why Palkia is water type of dialga is steel type. My theory makes complete sense. And I have confirmed my theory In pokemondb and gamafaqs
I agree with you, but they should give Flabebe's evolutionary line a huge defense buff then. It's defense stats are horrible anyways and many poison attacks are physical. Seriously, am I stupid or why did I never see a special attacking poison move except for Hidden Power poison?
Flabébé is holding a flower the anime has a whole episode where Bonni or Eurika had a Flabébé that landed on her head and had to retrive another flower because Flabébés OG flower was broken and it made Flabébé weaker without it
Because in Generation I, Dragon types were consider the "master" of Fire, Water, Grass and Electric, resisting all of them. At the time, they were the only Dragon types, also. All in all, despite finding Dratini using a Super Rod in Generation I, it is not uncommon to find Pokemon in egg groups that would normally fit a certain type. Did you know Raichu is in the fairy egg group? Guess what? Pikachu is not a Fairy type. It's just the way it is.
@@rclandon To clarify, the spikes on Lucario are based on the metal, Orichalcum, which is why he's steel type, and, it is spelled another way, which is Aurichalcum, which is another word for Oracle, which must be why Lucario is able to use Aura, hence the fighting type. If you look closely into its origins, it starts to make sense little by little.
Am I the only one who thought Palkia's type is obvious, It is part Water type because Pearls are found in the sea and it has Pearls on its shoulders as well as being the mascot to Pearl version.
jynx is based of a japanese snow queen(i think) ice makes sense. Heliolisk is fine how it is imo ur resoning is just "its from a earthy terrain so it must be ground" I understand the pokedex claim but to me pure electric would make the most sense. feel free to disagree tho
***** Jynx is based on BOTH Japanese fashion trend and the Japanese legendary hag Yama-Uba or Yamanba. According to the Japanes folklore, this creature lives high in the mountains. She catches little children, nurses them for awhile and then devours them. Also, that Japanese fashion trend is called Yamanba in Japanese slang, so all in all, it actually makes a lot of sense.
The Flabébé line is mono fairy type because they aren’t based off of nymphs! :) I always assumed they purposefully took the form of flower like creatures to throw off potential predators In addition, Jynx is based off the yama-uba or “mountain lady” a yokai said to live in the icy mountains who steals children to either raise them or eat them depending on the tale, which is why Smochum looks the way it does, as it resembles the yama-waro or “mountain child.” I hope this is useful!! :)
Palkia's type doesn't make sense but it does. the reason why it's a water type is because the sinnoh trio are supposed to represent the three states of matter. steel represents solid, water represents liquid and ghost represents gas.
let's relate the diving pokemon to science: The Diving Pokemon's ability is to control water but it is a psychic type;one of its name origin comes from "luna" w/c is the moon. In relation, The moon controls the tides all over the world--I think that is Game Freak's POV of interpreting Lugia as the "Guardian of the Sea". Anything i.e. related to cosmos (e.g. moon, stars, etc) although there are exceptions are Psychic-types. The moon controls the tides all over the waters on earth because of its gravitational pull on one another as the moon revolves around the earth and the earth revolves around the sun. The GRAVITATIONAL PULL of the moon causes low and high tides in various places depending on the moon's position; therefore concluding that, Lugia does make sense as a Psychic/Flying type rather than a Water/Flying-type that causes 4 times weak to electric although type-advantage to Ho-oh.
Lunarules19 I really want to argue against what you are saying, but I will restrain myself... UGH I can't hold it, diamonds are much harder than steel, the structure of a diamond is much stronger in the way that the bonds are laid out, steel being an alloy is stronger than most regular metals but is still much weaker than steel, I know it is more of a saying but science...
Phijkchu_Blob well how about this explanation? dialga = steel, solid and unchangeable like time. Palkia= water, liquid and moving like space. Girantinia= ghost, scary like antimatter. This would i guess better explain the type reasons
Haken Panoma it actually depends on who cones out first, if Groudon comes out first then Kyogre will drown out all the fire, whereas if Kyogre comes out first Groudon could dry out all of the water
true but according to Groundon move pool, it can learn,Solar beam,Thunder bolt,Thunder,Thunder Punch,ETC also,as its primal reversion, its ablity will make any water move's evaporated.
Atomic RIBIT 456 Okay.. The Creation Pokemons.. Psychic types are of different definitions such as: 1. Psychics are related to space and cosmos (e.g. Lunatone) 2. Psychics are related to the "mind" (e.g. Mewtwo) 3. Psychics are related to the principles of consciousness 4. Psychics are related to the spiritual aspects but in case of Arceus, he can change type that is really confusing what type really is therefore, Arceus is a Normal-type. In case of Giratina, it was based of most antagonists that implies malevolence (I personally think that The Renegade pokemon is only misunderstood one.)
***** Primary types... What they meant was Palkia should be Psychic/Dragon as Lugia should be Water/Flying. But then Dialga would be resistant to Psychic because steel type, then Ho-Oh would be weak against Lugia.
Speaking of types, I always thought levitate was a waste of a ability that could have been avoided if the game programmers just made pokemon that appear to be floating, unable to be touched by ground moves. It would make the magnemite line better for example.
Shooting stars, which is one of the things Jirachi is based on, are often made of metals. Also, both Jirachi and Deoxys come from space, but if they both had to be pure psychic, that'd be boring.
It's a Steel Type because it's bases off a "shooting star" or meteorite. Meteors generally contain Iron which is used for making steel. That's why Jirachi is a Steel Type and a Psychic Type intead of a pure Psychic Type like Deoxys.
OK, let me clear this up. In generation 1, Jynx had black skin. In the American version of Gen 2, they gave Jynx purple skin, and have kept it that way since (outside of Japan with the exception of Gen 3 for some reason.)
I think that Yanmega was definately a missed opportunity for being the first Bug/ Dragon type pokemon. Goodra should've been a Poison/ Dragon type with it's pre-evolutions just being poison types. Mega Gyrados should've been a Water/ Dragon type. That yellow lizard u mentioned should've definately been an Electric/ Ground type which would've been sooo interesting. Inky there, ya him n his evolution should've been a Water/ Psychic type. Jynx is ok, I like her typing. I think Palkia should've at least been Dragon/ Psychic type, idk, woulda made more sense, that's for sure. N Lugia should've definately been a Flying/ Water type, especially since it naturally learns Whirlpool and Hydro Pump. Again these not only make no sense, but they are jest overall missed opportunities.
Oh and Flabebe, u know what, at first glance, I felt like she should've been a grass type, but damn, if she was both Fairy and Grass Type, she'd be very easily beatable with 4x the weakness power from Fire Types and Poison Types. However I think she should've been Fairy/ Grass. Would've made more sense.
the reason palkia is a water dragon type if because it's part of the creation group. dialga represents solid, garthina represents gas and palkia represents liquid.
Palkia is based of liquid that's why lucario is named after a legendary metal that's why! jynx is the opposite of hot (sexy) so she's ice type THAT'S WHY
Shinx's evolutionary line was a huge missed opportunity to have them have the dark typing in addition to their electric typing given the dark look that they possess. They would have been the then first Pokemon with that type combination.
bro although luxray looks like the dark type he is not because dark types are considered evil and make mischief luxray is just a tiger/lynx that has x-ray vision
I do mostly agree with you, but here are some thoughts: Flabebe holds a flower, but Timburr holds a log, and it's not Fighting/Grass, nor is the steel beam-wielding Gurdurr Fighting/Steel. I read somewhere that part of Jynx's inspiration came from the Yuki-Onna a sort of ghostly succubus of the ice and snow. And sure, Lucario only has those few metal spikes, but they're coming out of his body, so his skeleton must be metal.
CandyEvie in Y and Alpha Sapphire, the pokedex says flabebe lands on the flower and cares for it. Also, you only have to look at it to see it isn't attached.
Most people don't realize that ruby and sapphire are both gems of the mineral corundum. Both of these gemstones have the same chemical composition and the same mineral structure.
I was gonna say Charizard. But you already acknowledged that his types are completely baloney as well. He looks exactly like a dragon, and he’s a flying and fire type. Ok it was good that they added the dragon type for his X mega evolution but still
The entire Goodra line should be poison dragon, it's so planted in my brain that I sometimes clicked psychic or ground moves against it when I played Y. I also do it with Lugia, luckily it's still weak to electric so it works out better in that case.
Personal I think Samurott has a very confusing type. Its name is Samurott as in samurai a type of warier plus it uses its shells as swords. SO SOMEONE TELL ME WHY SAMUROTT THE FIGHTING SAMURAI POKEMON IS JUST A PURE WATER TYPE. You could argue that Samurott is pure water due to Emboar being Fire Fighting but does Emboar LOOK LIKE A FIGHTING TYPE. ITS A PIG FOR GODS SAKE it could of been Rock Ground heck even Dark would of made more seance. I personally think Emboar only has fighting type due to a coding error. Makes a lot of seance considering why Emboar is the THIRD FIRE FIGHTING TYPE IN A ROW. And poor Samurott takes the back seat as a pure Water type.
+JimmyaKaTheK Emboar is actually a Fighting type because its based on Zhu Bajie, a pig warrior from Journey of the West(similar to Infernape as Son Wukong).
FryDays5000 Oh hmmm. Well thats pretty interesting. Well still they could of held one back until gen 6. Maybe mega Samurott could get the Fighting type then.
JimmyaKaTheK That would be nice. Emboar should also get a Fire/Dark mega so its secondary typing wouldn't seem redundant with Samurott's. Its design always struck me as a pig demon than a wrestler/warrior
JimmyaKaTheK I think Serperior is supposed to be a constrictor so Poison wouldn't fit. Either Dragon,Normal, or just plan Grass would probably be the most fitting types for it. I wanted for Serperior to be part Dragon earlier, but now with Sceptile being a dragon it wouldn't seem as exciting/unique anymore. Serperior's potential seems like a huge mystery to me :/
Gyarados' typing not being water/dragon makes perfect sense. In gen 1 there was only 1 dragon type move, dragon rage which did a set 40 damage, prior to gen 6 water/dragon only weakness was dragon, this is ok for kingdra since more dragon moves were in gen 2, but since gyarados is a gen 1 pokemon, he would have had no weaknesses and gyarados was OP as shit in gen 1. Why they never retconned him in later gens (like magnamite or all the pokemon that got retconned to fairy) i'll never know.
The psuedo-dragons (Charizard, Garyados, Areodactyl) are all flying type because dragon on them is far too op, especially in the case of Garyados and Charizard.
Mst3kfanatic1 he’s not as op as u think. My snorlax in Pokémon blue can tank a freaking hyper beam (at lvl 35) from lance’s gyarados. Wtf? Snorlax at lvl 35 in gen 1 has 54 defense while lance’s gyarados at lvl 59 in gen 1 possibly has over 120 attack. It might have something to do with gyarados not getting the stab boost
Pretty nice video! There were a few that you missed, though. You know Jirachi, the legendary wish-making Pokemon? Everyone knows that it's type would be psychic, like normal. But why psychic AND steel? With Lucario I am much more accepting of him having steel on him, but Jirachi! He's nothing more than a tiny star-shaped cutie! Plus, I kinda don't want to see my Jirachi get his ass kicked by a fire-type move. Psychic would've been just fine, thank you.
+Anneke Hensley Actually Jirachi is makes more sense as a Steel type compared to Lucario. Some shooting stars tend to be formed by some types of metals. And Jirachi is literally a shooting star.
Palkia is the Pokémon that made space, which you can freely move through, in any direction and at any speed, as it was a fluid, so its secondary type is Water. Dialga, its counterpart, made time, which is impossible to move against and very difficult to considerably accelerate or deaccelerate, as if you were trapped a rigid state. That's why its secondary type is Steel.
In my opinion the gen 2legendaries should be: Ho Oh - Psychic Fire, Lugia - Psychic Water, and Celebi - Psychic Grass. Only Celebi got the correct type in game... It completes a very nice trio of types while stating that each legendary has special psychic abilities. Celebi can time travel, Ho Oh can resurrect dying pokemon, and Lugia can maintain order over the legendary birds.
***** The lore and back story of ho oh is what makes it seem viable as psychic. Or do regular flying types have the ability to create legendary beasts?
Jynx's type makes perfect sense _if_ you're intimately familiar with Japanese folklore and spirits. If the Fairy type had existed back then, she'd probably have been Ice/Fairy.
Candy Evie: *talking about ice types* Me: yeah! It don’t make sense that jinx is ice type! Candy Evie: and all the ice types *shows picture of seel* Me:... that ain’t an ice type... oh well! We all make mistakes
Yanmega is a dragonfly, a BUG, not a dragon. Bug makes sense cause its a bug, flying makes sense cause it can fly. I do agree that bug/dragon would be a cool typing though.
ella hitchman Shadows are more associated with ghosts than evil/beings of darkness. And if there was total darkness with no presence of light, there wouldn't even be any shadows to hide on! Which is one of the reasons dark is strong against ghost
Florges pisses me off, like she is basically a flower why is she a fairy? I get that the creators were going for a Sudowoodo she looks like a flower but is a fairy disguised as one type of thing but still.
I used to think Jynx was based on those fat viking opera ladies. Vikings live in snow, so her ice type always made sense for me. Gen 1 did have Articuno, who is clearly an ice type, so if ice was added late into development, it was added when they designed Articuno. Types that make no sense to me (besides the ones mentioned in the video) would include Vibrava & Flygon (why aren't they bug type?), Altaria (you don't look like a dragon), Jirachi (steel? why?), Volbeat & Illumise (winged bugs that can't fly?), Mantine & Mantyke (flying mantarays?), Dragalge (still looks like a water type), Dedenne (you don't DESERVE the fairy type). Also I used to assume for years that Seviper was part dark. It seemed so obvious and the thing was so rarely used that I never felt the need to look it up. It wasn't until I caught one in Y that its dex entry showed me otherwise.
Oh and Azurill. That one makes the absolute least sense. Why isn't it water type? WHY does it have a different gender ratio than Marill making it possible for it to change gender upon evolution? Those seemed like programming oversights, but they kept it in in later generations. WHY?
+EpicEverz Jirachi is part steel due to the fact that it literally is a shooting star, or at least a form of space rock, and space rocks contain high levels of iron and metal. In real life, manta rays can breech out of the water and appear to glide, so I suppose that's why the Mantine line have flying type in them.
EpicEverz quote "Oh and Azurill. That one makes the absolute least sense. Why isn't it water type? @@eliot687 Bugs are a class of insects, distinguished by having piercing mouth parts and the ability to suck. Most eat sap or nectar. So bug is more specific than insect, not less.
Another bizarre thing - pokemon like Rhydon and Nidoking can use Surf but is hurt by water. Dodrio at one point could learn fly but Scyther still can not
@CandyEvie when you got to lugia i was with u, until your telepathy argument, i just wanted to point out, that Entei wasnt really an entei, is was an illusion created by the un-known, the little girl wanted a talkign entei daddy so the unknown gave her one, so not really a good argument
The reason most pokemon that talk are in the movies is because legendaries are usually the ones that talk. But mewtwo can talk, and he appeared in the episode where ash was getting his last badge in season one. While he didn't say anything, he could of.
I think that they made Lugia psychic type because if it was water type, It would basically be the more dominant of the two in a competitive standpoint, and they wanted the legendaries to have a pretty equal chance in battle. At least back then they did. Another reason is that psychic types can mentally control things, so Lugia can summon storms in a sense rather than create them, at least not create more storms, so it kind of mellows out it's OPness. Honestly that's the only logical sense I can make of it.
What about Groudon and Kyogre? They are two types that contrast giving Kyogre the upper hand? And primal Groudon! He is ground fire type which should make him super weak to Kyogre!
actually palkia being water type makes sense because dialga palkia and giratina represent the three states of matter where dialga is steel type representing solid and giratina surely represent gases.... so palkia is a liquid type I.e. water type😮
+Rubywing4 "Altaria is likely based on Peng, Chinese legendary birds of enormous size, said to travel 3000 li (miles) in one flap of their mighty, cloud-like wings. They're often portrayed as having a dragon's head and whiskers." Got that from bulbapedia.
My number 1 would be Celebi. How is this pure definition of a forest fairy not a fairy type? It looks like a fairy and behaves like a fairy. So why isn't it a fairy?
There is an explaination to the odd dark type additions. Outside Japan the dark types have been suggested nocturnal Pokémon, and many of the designs support this. However in Japan the dark type is actually evil type. This is also why moves like thief are dark type, and is likely also the reason we haven't seen a dark type gym yet. The designs of mega Gyarados and Malamar don't exactly scream dark type, but they do look pretty evil.
Dialga, Palkia and Giratina represent the 3 states of matter, solid (that explains the steel type), liquid (that explains the water type), gas (that explains the ghost type)
Ive heard that before, so i guess it makes sense, but hes the *SPACIAL* pokemon, so, wheres space type? many pokemon could be a space type (e.g. the cosmog line, palkia (obviously) deoxys, jirachi, ryquaza, Regispace (would have been a cool regi to have) mewtwo Y, and many others)

Goomy evo line is just:
Slug
Snail
*Slimy Rabbit*
? ? ? ? ?
Palkia is part water type because it's based on 1 of the 3 forms of matter; with Dialga representing solid, *Palkia* representing liquid, and Giritina representing gas.
I was just about to type that actually XD lol
But that still doesn't make Palkia a water type cause it's Dex entries say nothing about it or its appearance about water. It's design is clearly a psychic type. It should be psychic! It controls space! Lugia should be water type! In smash it flips the screen upside down kinda what a psychic type would do! The training card game doesn't count! Why?! My head is about to explode!
Wut about Plasma?
Lol
Creselia is plazma, please excuse my mistake
Yolo 678 the reason it turns the screen around is because it controls Space. And I agree it doesn't really make sense but still, it's the truth, and you can't really change that XD
Don't complain about Lugia, I'm glad that it doesn't have 4x weakness to Electric..

@@jonathan8927 evolution of pelipper ._. 😂
If just there was a way to add three types
I thought is was because it would have a type advantage against ho oh
@bruno did u really just say that.....
If it was water and psychic how could it fly
I’m pritty shur it’s to not just destroy ho oh
@@itzlqmer6084 levitate
Reason Why palkia is water type:
he has a ""pearl"" in his shoulder
Where do pearl comes from? from clams
and where do clam lives? Underwater
Actually palkia represent liquid
While dialga represent solid and giratina represent gas
Oh my god palkia is a clam
It’s because you use water to measure mass and that’s how much space that object takes up
Look-
Palkia - Liquid - Water
Diagla - Solid - Steel
Giratina - Gas - Ghost
Oh! These are all three types of matter!
@@BookWyrmOnAString nice one
lugia: part blue, lives under the ocean, flying/psychic. palkia: part purple, has own dimension, dragon/water
They should flip the Psychic and water around so palkia is Psychic Dragon
+Christian Rogers Palkia is the pearl Pokémon. They appear in water.
BlockySquidZ i dont think symbolism is enough to justify typing. palkia itself is in no way related to water, and even if it was, psychic would be much more appropriate
very mad guy
Indeed, let's switch types with Lugia. Lugia will be water flying and palkia psychic dragon, I'd be satisfied then.
ikr they must switch types. it must be done. THIS. IS. SPARTA!!!!!!!
Palkia is the PEARL pokemon. Like, the pokemon of the Pearl game, so it's not that bad that he's water. But by that logic, shouldn't Dialga have been Rock instead of Steel? I mean, diamonds are Rocks, right?
+88Hyo um what Palkia is the spacial Pokemon
No, I mean, he's FROM pearl :p You know? he's the cover pokemon for that game.
+88Hyo I agree
+88Hyo No, doesn't make sense to me. There is no hint in Palkia's design it's a water type. Also, pearls are more associated with psychic stuff. Finally, Dialga has lots of hints towards being a steel type.
Top_Pig_123 .. Pearls are usually made in water...
Ugh, I agree with the Lugia thing... Another thing that confused me is why Noctowl is Normal/Flying and not Psychic/Flying.
+TimJr. Why not? Xerneas has an advantage over Yveltal. Groudon stood on a god damn pebble in the middle of an ocean to fight Kyogre.
I know right? even the legendary birds and dogs have advantages over each other. except zapdos of course
atomic fart bubble You could also argue that, in terms of typing, Raikou is the best beast.
GURGLEGUY12345 Raikou is neutral to Suicune.
look at inkay, flip it upside down and it looks like a baby malamar going "woooo, my life sux!"
Maddox Collins that’s apparently how you evolve Inkay. You wait for it to get to level 30, level it up again but you need to level it up with your DS upside Down
I’m not making this up. It’s so silly

Oooooiooooooi
Palkia, Dialga, and Giritina are known as the creation trio, so their types are based off of the 3 stages of matter
Water=Liquid Steel=Solid Ghost=Gas
Also the goomy line are not entirely based off of snails. They are actually based off of the french dragon; the Lou Carcolh.
Palkia's head also looks like something that squirts water...
what about plasma bose-einstein condensate and quark gluon plasma?

Jinx is based off of a legend of a woman who lures young men into snowy forests to kill and eat them. its a similar legend to the one froslass is based off of
Frosslass is based on it not jynx
I think the young men would run away screaming if it saw it, straight or gay. I know I would.
makes me hate Jynx even more
Uuuhhh, Nani!?
AXB :P WRONG she didn't eat people u were close though
They should have switched Lugia’s and Palkia’s secondary types. Water/flying suits Lugia much better, and Dragon/psychic fits Palkia better than dragon/water.
I know exactly why palkia is a dragon water.
My first clue; you get it in pokemon *pearl*
Its because palkia's design is pearl based and pearls are formed in clams in the ocean so its a water type
Same for dialga. True diamonds are formed in the ground but its made with high pressure deep in the ground. Diamonds are so pressured that its stronger and steel
Anya Smile and groudon (excluding primals) should be fire type because it is found in lava?
James Rogers not right dialga Palkia and giretina are based on 3 types of matter dialga steel type( solid matter) Palkia water type (liquid matter) and giratina giratina ghost type( gas matter)
James Rogers wrong
Kari Puusaari Wrong. Palkia,Dialga, and Giratina are cosmic matter. Palkia is space,Dialga is time and Giratina is antimatter though he is theorized to be gravity. I mean its in their lore I don't get where everyone is getting the solid, liquid, gas stuff from but it is very wrong.
Scorpion Sub-Zero youre theory doesent explain why Palkia is water type of dialga is steel type. My theory makes complete sense. And I have confirmed my theory In pokemondb and gamafaqs
jynx is ice type because she not so hot

If Flabebe was a Fairy Grass type, some people might complain about it having a 4 times weakness to Poison! But I agree it should be part grass!
There are tons of Pokemon with x4 weaknesses lol
That won't stop anyone from complaining...?
+Kieran Black charizard has a ×4 weakness xd
I agree with you, but they should give Flabebe's evolutionary line a huge defense buff then. It's defense stats are horrible anyways and many poison attacks are physical. Seriously, am I stupid or why did I never see a special attacking poison move except for Hidden Power poison?
klein aley c: sludge bomb, sludge wave, acid spray, venoshock are all special
Flabébé is holding a flower the anime has a whole episode where Bonni or Eurika had a Flabébé that landed on her head and had to retrive another flower because Flabébés OG flower was broken and it made Flabébé weaker without it
The Anime is the worst source for Pokemon info IMO.

This'll be stupid, but I feel like Dratini and Dragonair should be part water. They are ALWAYS found in the water. And they're blue. :3
AshleyVSGaming i agree.
AshleyVSGaming That makes senses.
AshleyVSGaming No, they shouldn't. Be grateful they're in the Water 1 egg group.
Hairo Aguilera why shouldn't they?
Because in Generation I, Dragon types were consider the "master" of Fire, Water, Grass and Electric, resisting all of them. At the time, they were the only Dragon types, also.
All in all, despite finding Dratini using a Super Rod in Generation I, it is not uncommon to find Pokemon in egg groups that would normally fit a certain type.
Did you know Raichu is in the fairy egg group? Guess what? Pikachu is not a Fairy type. It's just the way it is.
I thought that comfey was grass fairy XD
It really should be. It's florgess all over again.
Comfey isn't a grass type because it only collects flowers

Lucario is a steel cos of the spikes and its translation in Japanese is a some type of metal
So three spikes make lucario a steel type?
@@rclandon To clarify, the spikes on Lucario are based on the metal, Orichalcum, which is why he's steel type, and, it is spelled another way, which is Aurichalcum, which is another word for Oracle, which must be why Lucario is able to use Aura, hence the fighting type. If you look closely into its origins, it starts to make sense little by little.
@@rclandon And Donphan is mostly silver and looks like it has metal on its body and known as the "armor Pokemon" but it is not a steel type Pokémon.
Am I the only one who thought Palkia's type is obvious, It is part Water type because Pearls are found in the sea and it has Pearls on its shoulders as well as being the mascot to Pearl version.
I thought more , that water is fitting because , liquid and moving like space. ?
Letgoit2 Space isn't moving. The things in space are. Also if that were the case Dialga would be water type because time does flow like water.
Yeah that's at least why I thought it was a water type you can see the pearls on Palkia's design
PokemonTM87 I thought it was obvious. Or maybe I just thought about it more than others.
TheZebbga
how is space not moving ? ok its more growing but isnt that some kind of moving?
jynx is based of a japanese snow queen(i think) ice makes sense. Heliolisk is fine how it is imo ur resoning is just "its from a earthy terrain so it must be ground"
I understand the pokedex claim but to me pure electric would make the most sense. feel free to disagree tho
RapierNeedleCrime Jynx is not based on a Japanese snow queen, but rather a Japanese fashion trend
Let it go~ Let it go~
I'm so sorry
***** Jynx is based on BOTH Japanese fashion trend and the Japanese legendary hag Yama-Uba or Yamanba. According to the Japanes folklore, this creature lives high in the mountains. She catches little children, nurses them for awhile and then devours them. Also, that Japanese fashion trend is called Yamanba in Japanese slang, so all in all, it actually makes a lot of sense.
When I first played through Kalos I assumed that he was electric ground too. He just has that look.
Jinx is based on nikki monaj
Palkia is the liquid, dialga is matter, and giratina is gas
Oliver Heimann giratina is antimatter dammit
Uh actually it's solid,liquid,gas
Thanks
Palkia is space, dialga is time, giratina is antimatter or in some theories gravity which makes more sense
Liquids and gases are merely states of matter.
The Flabébé line is mono fairy type because they aren’t based off of nymphs! :)
I always assumed they purposefully took the form of flower like creatures to throw off potential predators
In addition, Jynx is based off the yama-uba or “mountain lady” a yokai said to live in the icy mountains who steals children to either raise them or eat them depending on the tale, which is why Smochum looks the way it does, as it resembles the yama-waro or “mountain child.”
I hope this is useful!! :)
Jynx was based on Japanese ice spirits
And Yamma Uba
John Siebelink froslass kinda did the whole thing better
Palkia's type doesn't make sense but it does.
the reason why it's a water type is because the sinnoh trio are supposed to represent the three states of matter.
steel represents solid, water represents liquid and ghost represents gas.
+CandyEvie
no 5 states of matter if you include EBS's so should'nt there be 2 more legendarys?oh wait...reshiram and......wait ditto??∆∆∆∆CONFIRMED
And isn't he a pearl or based off a pearl
but we cab admit that palkias desingn could be more waterish
Yon Ki the way to incorporate that in the desing is to make palkia's purple lines on it's body blue and the gem as well ta da problem solved
let's relate the diving pokemon to science:
The Diving Pokemon's ability is to control water but it is a psychic type;one of its name origin comes from "luna" w/c is the moon.
That should be it's own video
name origin: luego Latin for ‘lie dormant'
Too bad your theory was jossed by the creators years ago.
5:27
Fighting dark type would probably work??? Or fighting physic, considering the aura powers/moves that Lucario has... that’s what I wold think tho
Um you wrote psychic wrong ;-;
Hey, look up the word Orichalcum, and you'll understand Lucario's typing.
Uhh palkias water type came from its game's name.Pearls are found in the water just like diamonds are as hard as steel.
Girantinia= ghost, scary like antimatter.
This would i guess better explain the type reasons
Letgoit2 tell that the Dialga in the twelfth movie!
Xytark4P
what is it about ?
Arceus and the Jewel of Life
At one point, Dialga send Ash & Co. back in time, so they can change the past.
Lugia is psychic because they wanted it not to be a copy of mantine and gyrados. Plus then it would just completely kill ho-oh
Totodile Playz and die even harder to all Electric types.
Well I mean, kyogre easily beats Groundon because of there typing soo...
Electricat ! Then comes Primal Groupon whose immune to fire type attacks under Drought.
Haken Panoma it actually depends on who cones out first, if Groudon comes out first then Kyogre will drown out all the fire, whereas if Kyogre comes out first Groudon could dry out all of the water
true but according to Groundon move pool, it can learn,Solar beam,Thunder bolt,Thunder,Thunder Punch,ETC
also,as its primal reversion, its ablity will make any water move's evaporated.
I WOULD LOVE A PART 2

+CandyEvie thanks!
Palkia could be Dragon/Psychic
Yep. I think it kinda swapped types with lugia...
Dipak Raj did you know palkia stole lugias water type and lugia stole palkias psychic type?
Nah.Palkia is.kindoff based on one of 5 types of matter:Liquid.Like Dialga with Solids and Giratina with Gas.
No it represents 1 of the 3 main stages of matter
@@harleywest6211 There is Plasma and a lesser known matter called Bose-Einstein Condensate, but that counts.
Jynx is based on the yama-uba which is a mythical ice spirit so that is how it gets the ice type.
and also on Hell, one of the nordic gods ( this one controlled ice) she was depicted as dark skinned with blond hair.
+jorde2500 ...her name was hell? Huh. That's interesting

#1. The Diving Pokemon is Psychic for the moon controls the tides therefore, anything that is related to cosmos are psychic types
Juliana Marie Artocillo what about Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, and Arceus!?
Atomic RIBIT 456 Okay.. The Creation Pokemons..
Psychic types are of different definitions such as:
1. Psychics are related to space and cosmos (e.g. Lunatone)
2. Psychics are related to the "mind" (e.g. Mewtwo)
3. Psychics are related to the principles of consciousness
Juliana Marie Artocillo how come claydoll a psychic type
ElLoco The Human In Claydol's case, it is related to the mind and mythical aspects!!
Juliana Marie Artocillo yeah, but even then, I feel like Pokémon related to space should have a new cosmic type or something.
Palkia and Lugia should switch types
MARIOPOWERUP Exactly!
No that would make no secnse
Palkia should be dragon psychic
***** They mean switch primary types
***** Primary types... What they meant was Palkia should be Psychic/Dragon as Lugia should be Water/Flying. But then Dialga would be resistant to Psychic because steel type, then Ho-Oh would be weak against Lugia.
Speaking of types, I always thought levitate was a waste of a ability that could have been avoided if the game programmers just made pokemon that appear to be floating, unable to be touched by ground moves. It would make the magnemite line better for example.

I don't understand why Jirachi is part steel
Shooting stars, which is one of the things Jirachi is based on, are often made of metals. Also, both Jirachi and Deoxys come from space, but if they both had to be pure psychic, that'd be boring.
Andrea Quadrati Ah, makes sense
It's a Steel Type because it's bases off a "shooting star" or meteorite. Meteors generally contain Iron which is used for making steel. That's why Jirachi is a Steel Type and a Psychic Type intead of a pure Psychic Type like Deoxys.
+zimmygirl777 your smart:D
The Skoolmustard yeah it should be Psychic/fairy
Jinx is part ice type because of what it is based on, just look it up.
same with lucario's name. Its name has a type of metal in it.
Jynx is based off black face tho???
Jaymes Driver no face was based off a Japanese fashion style that wasn’t meant to be racist
tntpancakes waffles it was originally black
OK, let me clear this up. In generation 1, Jynx had black skin. In the American version of Gen 2, they gave Jynx purple skin, and have kept it that way since (outside of Japan with the exception of Gen 3 for some reason.)
For yanmega and yanma
Dragon/Flying type (in that order) would make sense as well. It's typing would literally have Dragon Fly in the typing

Levente Laknerfi it was jexs
Levente Laknerfi that was in the anime.
Levente Laknerfi it was part ice type because they are meant to live on icebergs way out at sea.
Dani Jenk it was in the anime, not a game
I do mostly agree with you, but here are some thoughts:
Flabebe holds a flower, but Timburr holds a log, and it's not Fighting/Grass, nor is the steel beam-wielding Gurdurr Fighting/Steel.
I read somewhere that part of Jynx's inspiration came from the Yuki-Onna a sort of ghostly succubus of the ice and snow.
And sure, Lucario only has those few metal spikes, but they're coming out of his body, so his skeleton must be metal.
Brian Pennington Yeah, but Timburr and Gurdurr's items aren't part of their bodies. The flower is a part of Flabebe's body.
CandyEvie in Y and Alpha Sapphire, the pokedex says flabebe lands on the flower and cares for it. Also, you only have to look at it to see it isn't attached.
Look at the Pokedex entry mentioned in the video. That's proof enough for me
CandyEvie yes, but look at the pokedex entries you didn't mention. That, plus the obvious visual evidence is enough for me.
Brian Pennington Close. Jynx was inspired by a different spirit; the yuki-onna Pokémon is Froslass.
also because diaga is a steel type because it's diamond and palkia is a water type because it's a pearl
no it’s not, the trio represent solid, liquid and gases.
pearls aren't water
Yup
Most people don't realize that ruby and sapphire are both gems of the mineral corundum. Both of these gemstones have the same chemical composition and the same mineral structure.
Prince Jetren You don't find it underwater though dumbass
I was gonna say Charizard. But you already acknowledged that his types are completely baloney as well.
He looks exactly like a dragon, and he’s a flying and fire type. Ok it was good that they added the dragon type for his X mega evolution but still
Jinx was based off an evil snow spirit, that's why its an ice type.
And Lucarios name is based off of a metal, that's why its a steel
I like how very few people see this
Pokegirl 397 I always thought Jinx was based off of a Viking ._.
If it's and evil snow spirit shouldn't it be Dark/Ice instead of Psychic/Ice?
i think lucario would've made sense as a physic fighting type.
Yeah i agree

FryDays5000 Same here. For some reason I think Serperior should ether be Grass Normal or Grass Poison
+Mst3kfanatic1
Dragon is also weak to Ice
StrasbergProtégé Yes, but Water resists Ice
StrasbergProtégé and fairy as well
The psuedo-dragons (Charizard, Garyados, Areodactyl) are all flying type because dragon on them is far too op, especially in the case of Garyados and Charizard.
+Homestuck is Life You know Jirachi should've been re-typed to Steel-Fairy.
MisterZygarde64 Maybe, or psychic and fairy
Homestuck is Life Jirachi can't lose the Steel typing though. It's clearly made of metal.
*the video goes to number 2*
In Video:Lucario.
TheAuraGuardian:TRIGGERED
TheAureGuardian would like to know your where you are
My favorite Gen 4 Pokémon.
But nothing about Ho-Oh makes it seem psychic. Is clearly a bird aka flying.
***** The lore and back story of ho oh is what makes it seem viable as psychic. Or do regular flying types have the ability to create legendary beasts?
***** I suppose, it just seem to make more sense to have all three be psychic with a second type...
That sounds awesome. Too bad ho oh is so undeveloped, no movie, not even a single episode in the main series. Just some ocassional flashes.
1 more reason for ash to CATCH HIM!
Jynx's type makes perfect sense _if_ you're intimately familiar with Japanese folklore and spirits. If the Fairy type had existed back then, she'd probably have been Ice/Fairy.
Candy Evie: *talking about ice types*
Me: yeah! It don’t make sense that jinx is ice type!
Candy Evie: and all the ice types *shows picture of seel*
Me:... that ain’t an ice type... oh well! We all make mistakes
I think Lucario should have been Fighting/Psychic.
agreed
Fighting and ghost.
It's aura is just so ghost like and It would be very unique
+James Morley And either very OP or very useless
fighting/dark seems more fitting, honestly.
+Andrew Addams Well, until you find out its name originated from the word "orichalcum", which is an ancient, mythical metal.
"Human Pokémon" (Shows Mewtwo) Umm i thought Mewtwo and Mew were based on cats....
Sunshinefox humanoid. Like standing on up and in the general shape of a human, like mewtwo
Sunshinefox Me too,? CMON GUYS .... "Mew" MEW COME ON
Sunshinefox HumanOID
Team Rocket's Meowth is a humanoid but not, if that makes sense.
How is Mew and Mewtwo cats?
For a long time I always thought lugia was water dragon
David Baines me too
L I swear it was Water and Flying but then I got one from an event.
L its not?
What
*L I E S M8*
Yanmega is a dragonfly, a BUG, not a dragon. Bug makes sense cause its a bug, flying makes sense cause it can fly. I do agree that bug/dragon would be a cool typing though.
Girls are hot and jynx is the exact opposite so its ice
Perfect xD
xD Jynx actually wears a wig
oooo i get it! jinx needs an extreme makover!
jynx is ice because its what it brain is made of ice
The Pre-Teen Drawler lol I agree
Why is Gengar a poison and ghost type? Why not dark and ghost type? ITS THE FRICKING SHADOW POKEMON!
+ella hitchman Gengar is literally a fully developed Gastly, who was made up of poisonous gases.
I know but in the pokedex its says it hides in shadows.
ella hitchman Shadows are more associated with ghosts than evil/beings of darkness. And if there was total darkness with no presence of light, there wouldn't even be any shadows to hide on! Which is one of the reasons dark is strong against ghost
+ella hitchman dark did not exist back then tough
Then why can't his type change like Jigglypuff?
Florges pisses me off, like she is basically a flower why is she a fairy? I get that the creators were going for a Sudowoodo she looks like a flower but is a fairy disguised as one type of thing but still.
Ao Bleu Because they simply represent nature. Representation of nature: a fairy.
Hairo Aguilera Representation of nature: freakin' grass types. I see fairy types more or less representing light, magic or sweet things.
Ao Bleu and nature. Come on, look up forest nymphs.
Hairo Aguilera Yea I know what they are but Forest nymphs aren't forests
Ao Bleu you're right; they're nymphs, a type of fairy, that lives in forests (you know, with trees?)
I believe the only reason Lugia is a psychic type is only because psychic types in the old games where POWERFUL so I think that’s the reason why?
+EpicEverz azumarill is a water fairy type. and the ratios have always been 50/50. Are we on the same page here >.>
Aickavon the Techpriest
Clearly not, since I wasn't talking about Azumarill.
EpicEverz quote "Oh and Azurill. That one makes the absolute least sense. Why isn't it water type? WHY does it have a different gender ratio than Marill making it possible for it to change gender upon evolution? Those seemed like programming oversights, but they kept it in in later generations. WHY?" unquote
I used to think Dratini and Dragonair were water and Dragonite was fire
Sparxo I used to think haunter gastly and gengar where ghost dark but nope it's a ghost posin. I suck at spelling
Sparxo Me too
Sparxo I used to think that dragonair and dratini evolved into lapras. U can probably see why based on its design
Palkia should've been Psychic/Dragon
Inkay is dark type because squids squirt out ink, which is black and darkens the water.
Maybe they made Palkia part water because it represents pearls which form inside clams which live in water?
actually dialga was meant to be in the form of a solid:steel
palkia was meant to be the other state of matter liquid:water
and girintina gas:ghost
but Palkia is a pokemon represent Space
What is Heleopitle and Heleolisk were Electric/Fire type? Considering that Heleopitile evolves with the sun stone.
FUDGE?
Neither.
Damn. I meant to say 'what if.'
Rai The Weird Red Panda It's because of Elezard's ability to generate power from the sun.
That would be cool!
I'm sure that slugs and snail isn't a bug
Neither are crabs and lobsters, but they are still bug type
@@astrowyrm6871 Crabs are actually close relatives to Spiders But Spiders are also not Bugs so
bug=/=insect
no its a pre-dragon
+Ushiro .Uki
media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mcxlz8IW0u1rnaa1i.jpg
then what about shaymin
+LK -4D4 those were movie only you bakas, in the actual animes, for some reason no pokemon, not even psychic types can talk for themselves
The reason most pokemon that talk are in the movies is because legendaries are usually the ones that talk. But mewtwo can talk, and he appeared in the episode where ash was getting his last badge in season one. While he didn't say anything, he could of.
+Daniel Zhang zorua arent legendary pokemon, right ?? ..bet he clearly said he is using telepathy...
+Justin Gonzalez Groudon can learn solar beam do
+CookieOrange Craft he can?
+CookieOrange Craft one over might not be able to make a difference
+CookieOrange Craft one move might not be able to make a difference though
what about suicune? it's a pure water type it should be ice
mistfern and flying too! it controls winds
It can't have three types
why
The ice type wouldn't make sense
A lot of pokemon that are water types can learn ice beam. Like gastrodon
hopefully we will have galar variations correcting these types
That is where you are wrong.
@@nguoixemkhongtontai2612 why? Don't tell me because galar are for only Gen 1 because they are not
actually palkia being water type makes sense because dialga palkia and giratina represent the three states of matter where dialga is steel type representing solid and giratina surely represent gases.... so palkia is a liquid type I.e. water type😮
also lucario is steel type due to its move pool
Lucario is based on a Japanese legendary metal, not due to its move pool.
Metals are legendaries????
It's a mythical metal, did you never heard of legends? Or legendary stories.
and pearls are found in water... as palkia is the mascot for pearl, is the pearl dragon (his build) and has pearls in its shoulders
What about Altaria?
That's clearly NOT a dragon!
You'll never get it
bardya hasanati Get what?
How exactly is a blue bird with cloud body and wings a dragon?
I don't get it!
You're right.
why the dragons have to be big and terrefying?... next you gonna say that she must be water because she is blue? *sarcasm mode on*
It think it looks like a dragon its probalybecause you think dragons r supposed to be fierce
+Rubywing4
"Altaria is likely based on Peng, Chinese legendary birds of enormous size, said to travel 3000 li (miles) in one flap of their mighty, cloud-like wings. They're often portrayed as having a dragon's head and whiskers."
Got that from bulbapedia.
My number 1 would be Celebi. How is this pure definition of a forest fairy not a fairy type? It looks like a fairy and behaves like a fairy. So why isn't it a fairy?
+buciallstar >behaves like a fairy
But fairies don't time travel. That is why its Psychic type.
FryDays5000 well, is Father Time a Fae or a Psychic?
Psychic of course. A personification of time would theoretically work if it's a highly intelligent being.
+FryDays5000 fairies don't time travel? why call it ''forest fairy'' then huh? >:O fairies do time travel
Maybe make it part fairy
There is an explaination to the odd dark type additions. Outside Japan the dark types have been suggested nocturnal Pokémon, and many of the designs support this. However in Japan the dark type is actually evil type. This is also why moves like thief are dark type, and is likely also the reason we haven't seen a dark type gym yet. The designs of mega Gyarados and Malamar don't exactly scream dark type, but they do look pretty evil.
