In my experience after having various examinations, tests, scans etc. with several ENT specialists I have concluded they don’t know anything about treating tinnitus
Well said, totally agree. I'm in the UK. Have seen many doctors including the best specialist in a London hospital. I also have had every scan known to man. Tinnitus has ruined my life. I know more on the subject than some of the doctors I've seen. My T spikes even when I walk and my foot hits the floor.
@@untold101I hurt my tailbone, was in intense pain for almost 2 years. It made my tinnitus worse. Doctors don’t believe me. When my tailbone hurts it’s gets worse.
I have an Acoustic Neuroma on my right side, as well as the "severe to profound" hearing loss on the right side that apparently goes with it. I started having what sounded like live crickets deep in my right ear canal that very quickly escalated to profound hearing loss in the same ear. I also have really bad balance likely caused by this. Shortly afyer this diagnoses, I was diagnosed wothbilayeral Avascular Necrosis in both hips (subsequently had both totally replaced, now I have a bone disease that is extremely aggressive in my spine. 218 days in hospital in last 2 years. Ugh.
I have had tinnitus since August 1982 and possibly before that time. I believe it happened due to exposure to loud music because I became aware of it after a three day misadventure involving an extended rock and roll event. I have had constant tinnitus since that event. I had a period of time in 2002 of extreme vertigo and even after extensive testing, the cause of vertigo was not determined. I also have TMJ and arthritis. The intensity of the tinnitus varies mostly from stress. I also have presbycusis. I decided that treating my mild but continuing hearing loss was something that i could actively do. I noticed the tinnitus less since I started using hearing aids this year. Although i have grown used to having tinnitus, there have been periods where the tinnitus was not present. The relief has been sporadic but amazing since i believed the tinnitus was untreatable . It made me a little anxious when it happened at first. I was more concerned that some change in my health had caused the tinnitus to stop. Hearing more sound and more understandable speech dail makes my tinnitus more manageable. Thank you for this additional information
here in Southern Philippines we have traditional healer.. they use specific medicinal herb to put it in ear to cure noise in your ears. the smell from medicinal leaves will cure.
I suffer with tmj and have been seeing some success with acupuncture. my last treatment gave me about 5 days with almost no symptoms. I find that a lot of my problem stems from the TMJ muscle and subsequent nerves extending from the base of my neck. I had a few months there where I was extremely depressed however my acupuncturist really pulled out all the stops to try and help me with rehabilitation. so far it's looking really hopeful
I've actually had this weird bone crunching sounds whenever I open my jaw at a certain area (yes I have tinnitus) I've had this problem for the past 6 months and I genuinely have no idea what I'm going to do. There aren't any doctors in my city who specializes in ear treatment with is unfortunate. I also experience an uncomfortable sensation in both ears sometimes but that feeling mostly occurs every afternoon
Pain in face could be Trigeminal Neuralgia. If you have TGN, recommend Dr. Huang at Johns Hopkins for solutions. For Tinnitus, I listen to classical music all day, and use a white noise device to help me sleep.
I have been dealing with tinnitus for over 20 years. It first started in the military while firing rifles on the range. We had earplugs in but i didnt know my left one popped out as mine and two other rifles were fired simultaneously . I found put after that my ear plug came out but my hearing was still muffled. Went to the doc after the range and found out inhad compacted ear wax on that ear as well. Didnt get diagnosed with tinnitus until a few years after i got out of the military in 2006. Been dealing with it ever since 🤷♂️ ill have to tell my pcp about this. Thanks for sharing
Tinnitus rates are super high among people in the Armed Forces and veterans, it is also the most common disability that a veteran claims. Thank you for your service.
Hamilton Anxiety Scale lists tinnitus as a symptom of anxiety, also Dr John Sarno considered it as a TMS symptom (ie psychogenic) also a study done in the 1950's demonstrated that 95% of subjects put in a totally silent sound proof room reported hearing ringing in their ears.... so maybe some people just become obsessed with it?
A great point but they need to redo that study all over again. After WW2 Tinnitus rates were at their highest although it wasn't always reported, people just shrugged it off back then. It is likely that depending on the demographic, age, and gender of the people that were tested, they literally could've just had a high sample group of people with tinnitus.
I have tinnitus due to hearing aids from listening to music almost all day, the intensity has decreased a lot and I have normal hearing I don't have acoustic trauma, but my symptom worsens due to neck and jaw pain.
Sir, Same problem, how long have you been started? I have tmj problem, now I'm not using a headset, I'm adjusted with that sound but sometimes irritating 🥺, I hope you are okay now.
I have chronic tinnitus, TMJ... I developed TMJ in my 20s. tinnitus late 20s.. which is chronic since it never goes away.. so been living like this for 10 years... I mean.. its sucks, but what can I do about it...
Many times tinnitus is caused by severe ear wax in the ears that need to be cleaned completely and safely by ENTs or audiologists. My question is do all audiologists test for and clean ear wax completely and safely because without it the hearing tests are innaccurate unless this is done? This is important to know. Would you please clarify? Thank you.
I had pulsate tinnitus for 6 years until I finally learned that I had a collapsed vein in my head. I had surgery to have a stent placed and my pulsate tinnitus went away immediately
Nobody knows why I have tinnitus in my left ear. There’s no infection or earwax buildup. The CT scan was clear. My hearing is perfect. One day, I was just sitting in my chair and it happened. We are now at two weeks and still going strong.
Been suffering from a noise in the lower left side of my head and when I press on it with my fingers or turn to the left the noise kind of intensifies but also worth mentioning that my condition is on an on and off basis I could have a day then nothing or hardly feel it the next. I only found out about the TMJ disorders today and when I pressed on my left jaw near the left ear the noise is even more intense. Been to an ENT which sorry to say a complete waste of time. Any ideas ? Suggestions ? What could this be ?
Need AI biotech companies to work on a cure for tinnitus. Huge market, and we know chickens regenerate hair cells. We just need AI to figure out how to replicate that in humans as we do NOT regenerate hair cells once lost....
I hate it when people pronounce it TeniTus, I always grew up with doctors here pronouncing it Ten Eye Tus. It just sounds weird when saying it the other way.
So, no exercises or actual assistance?? Yes, I know it's my jaw. Tinnitus started the same morning I woke up with a piercing pain in the left TMJ. And no, I'm not going to waste time going to doctors. I'm long term travelling and have lost faith in the ones in my home country anyway. There's heaps of good exercises here on TH-cam.
Does anyone know if this is natural? When I put my fingers into both of my ears and open and close my jaw, I can feel the jaw joints pressing into my ear hitting my finger when I close my jaw.

This sounds relevant to my problem because I am having problem in my salivary glands and tinnitus since 7 months back

What is that medicine? I’m from Mindanao btw
It is! Have pulsating tinnitus driving me crazy. Jaw cracked one day and boom gone, but it comes back once in a while.
Any advice?
Ear ringing went away when I started taking estradiol and progesterone for menopause - lots of issues disappeared when I started hormones.

Check your tmj, but I think you did that in 1 year

sound in your brain does not stop in a soundproof room

... going to a tmj specialist?
Try going to a physical therapist who specializes in dry needle therapy for your TMJ. Worked for me.
most likely muscle related are you sitting a lot at a computer?

My audioligist said to go to primary care physician and get ears thoroughly cleaned before getting ears tested by the audiologist.
Man my right jaw has been locked up for days and I had no idea it has anything to do with my tinnitus
I had a head injury in 2019 and severe tinnitus since I woke up in the hospital. It’s driving me insane and I don’t know what To do about it.
All jaw movements cause a high pitched ringing 😢can pulsatile tinnitus be caused from the jaw tmj?
Look up somatic tinnitus

I have tinnitus, 29 years. Terrible. Also have TMJ, also a pain
At least they are both not life threatening. One makes the other worse & visa versa
If i just move my jaw foward i can activate my tinitus even tho it started with me listening to loud music it is strange.
It is classified as somatic tinnitus and might be pretty much a result of tmjd.
Honey you talked about everything apart on tmj problems and how to solve it? Dry needling for masters or what they do?
but does the speaker have it...otherwise, useless book info rant...
