Nigel is doing great! He has an easy temperament and is independent, which works for Nora. She appears to have the worst time in the clingy newborn phase. They naturally want to cling and nurse and the hungrier they get, the more agitated she gets. Nan helps alot during this phase, giving Nora a smack, like 'buck up and feed your baby!'. Luckily Nora has a good bond with her mother. Win/win for the baby. Elsie and Benji are adorable too! Can't wait to see Normas new baby! ;)'

Sometimes I think Nora defeats her purpose by letting Nigel crawl around in the trees instead of sticking to her because he probably burns a lot of calories and will want to nurse which we all know she’s not a fan of.🤣😂Silly Nora.😂
It amazes me how they let you get so close to them. I enjoy the music and the narrations. It's so creative how you present the story and lives of these families. You seem to be so caring for these fur babies❤❤❤❤
The babies are a beautiful lot this year, especially the girls, they are so cute climbing on Mom’s head and holding on to their face and eyebrows, bet that is Moms favorite game.🥸 Arroz, when Mega troops form, is that from growth of one set of several families or is an additional troop joining in cooperation with another troop? Will there be only one Alpha and Matriarch? Monkeys have a higher level of Intelligence and greater skill set than I ever knew. Their troop’s politics, survival strategies and cooperation more developed than most species. It is amazing to watch, and the love and care they have for each other nothing short of human. Watching Estel and her girls is such a joy. She is so patient with that that cute little spitfire Elsie. Elsie sees the great big world beyond Mum and can’t wait to get out and explore. Her other 2 girls beautiful. What a loving family. Nora is doing better and Nigel is another one who looks like he’ll soon be ready to take off and explore but he’s a bit more reticent than the others. But I am glad he is still with us.
Elsie is hyperactive, I hope she grows out of it. She just want to see and experience everything in her world. Poor Estell needs a leash for Elsie so she can explore a little farther out and Estell can still keep her safe. I think you read Norma well. Thanks, AM.
Have u noticed that none of the other Moms r letting their babies that r maybe a week old climb all up in the trees? Juuust Nora, its almost like she doesn't care what he does as long as he isn't near or on her trying to get milk. Which if he keeps going for it repeatedly leads me to believe the poor thing is hungry. I really haven't ever seen him nurse, I've seen him TRY to nurse, but then get elbowed away time after time. The last baby she had, she let starve to death, so I am still worried for him. I'm afraid that he will either die of starvation, or die falling out of a tree bcuz hes far to young to be climbing around up there. I just don't trust Nora at all to do right by her babies. I kno she is an animal, but she has had babies in the past an knows very well what to do. I really do try not to get aggravated over a damn monkey, but I guess I can't control myself. The other monkey moms r great, then, theres Nora.
We don't know what killed Celena so please don't jump to conclusions that Nora starved her to death. No one knows for sure. You can speculate but be clear it's aspeculation if not that's how misinformations are spread as truths and we've all seen what can happen because of it. 🤓🏴☠️🇸🇪

Did you know that there has been a study about abuse among mother and child rhesus macaques? It exists. Very interesting read, you can find it if you Google for it. It says that abuse occur but it's not so common. There's a list of what counts as child abuse and Noras behaviour the first to second week of her babies lives counts as abuse but doesn't mean she kills her babies. After that first week or two she change and that's typical according to the study. Another thing is that the rest of the troop is aware of the abuse and some tries to stop it like Nan does. The time frame is interesting. They stop the abuse after a short time so why the abuse at all? IMO I think it's some chemical imbalance that can happen in a female bodies after giving birth. So I believe it could be some kind of postnatal depression. Another thing that's interesting in the study is that among the list of ways the mother's abuse their babies nowhere in that list can we find Tinas or Gypsy's behaviour because that's not considered abuse among the rhesus macaques. No other macaque tries to stop either Tina or Gypdy because to them it's not abuse. For us it is but for lowest ranking Tina it's a way to survive. IMO If she had died so had her baby. Most viewers realize now that Gypsy's behaviour wasn't what it looked like to them. We could see a few times that higher ranking Rudy was the one dictating the situation. She decided to take and decided when to give Gypsy her baby back. Gypsy made the best of the situation and went to look for food. As always most situations in life are multi dimensional and we shouldn't be so quick to judge and when it comes to monkeys we shouldn't humanise them. They're not humans even though they are close to us genetically. Rhesus macaques and humans share 94% DNA and they act like us in many situations. Their bodies are really close to ours and that's why they are popular to use in research. Rhesus macaques with chimpanzees and humans are the only primates to have their genome sequenced and rhesus macaques are the first Old World monkey to have its DNA deciphered. Take care!😊 🤓🏴☠️🇸🇪

Hey lil Prince Nigel got a fair sized mudflap there..he's going to have to build those legs up for when he matures and they drop !!.. he is small but energetic bearing in mind the milk bar is rationed..then you get Elsie who just wants to investigate everything!! Poor Estel is going to be knackered keeping this lil beauty under control..poor Bee didn't get much only a few scraps..Good to see Essie has grown out of her stink eye phase.. For me I really love all animals and I have easier to identify myself with them than humans but there's something special with primates both non human apes and monkeys. It's one of my special interests. First letter connections is far from consistent. I don't think AM never thought his videos to be so popular as they are and from the beginning I don't think he was sure if he was going to stay in Hong Kong or not. I'm glad he stayed! AM thinks Norma is an older sister to Nora. All females in a troop are related somehow. The tricky part is to find out how but watching how they act when feeding we can see the hierarchy and we know the a mun triumph her daughters but between the sisters it's the reverse order. The youngest sister triumphs the older ones. That's why it's Bubby who's in line to be the next alpha in Bossy's troop unless Bossy gets another daughter. We can watch who grooming who. Related grooms more often but non related grooms eachother too. You have to grease the upper layer😁 or groom like the male do it to the females...🙃. We can see what kids play with eachother. When they're infant they play with everyone but when they get older they've learned about the hierarchy so they often only plays with equals but this is not written in stone. You're friends teasing you but they probably are closeted fans of monkeys😁😁 or they would be if they start watching🤪. 🤓🏴☠️🇸🇪

I recommend you watch his old videos up to date. It's much easier to remember them and their relations too eachother that way but it's a lot to watch😁 but who minds😛. I rewatch his and JW's videos all the time but I'm more than slightly obsessed with non human primates.

You're in good company. We are many! Who love these rhesus macaques in Hong Kong. For me I really love all animals and I have easier to identify myself with them than humans but there's something special with primates both non human apes and monkeys. It's one of my special interests.
First letter connections is far from consistent. I don't think AM never thought his videos to be so popular as they are and from the beginning I don't think he was sure if he was going to stay in Hong Kong or not. I'm glad he stayed! AM thinks Norma is an older sister to Nora. All females in a troop are related somehow. The tricky part is to find out how but watching how they act when feeding we can see the hierarchy and we know the a mun triumph her daughters but between the sisters it's the reverse order. The youngest sister triumphs the older ones. That's why it's Bubby who's in line to be the next alpha in Bossy's troop unless Bossy gets another daughter. We can watch who grooming who. Related grooms more often but non related grooms eachother too. You have to grease the upper layer😁 or groom like the male do it to the females...🙃. We can see what kids play with eachother. When they're infant they play with everyone but when they get older they've learned about the hierarchy so they often only plays with equals but this is not written in stone.

If they started watching they'd end up being followers too since humans & non-human primates instinctually relate to each other..however I wonder if there's any psycho- biological reason why some of us experience it on a much deeper level than others who may have a brief curiosity to their similar kind.. as opposed to those of us who literally wanna pack up & post a tent at the Ankgor temple 🤣🤣🤣🤣
