The problem is he was doing very similar tricks exposing one weakness ("button masher"-style combos) and then a bunch of weird tricks that were not that difficult. If he did difficult tricks but they all were very different, no one would've minded

Ideally you want to win gracefully, by doing difficult and varied tricks that look good, and not by exploiting the same trick type over and over, esp. if it is a weird looking trick. Although you might not agree with me and think anything goes.
Andy can do all the traditional tricks too. The difference is freestyle. He brings it into all skating including his transition skating. He doesn’t see street, vert, and freestyle separately, and he is constantly creating. He is also by far one of the nicest people I have ever skated with.

I remember when the back flip was landed on dirt bikes and a lot of the other guys didn't want it allowed in competition because they couldn't do it, but now moto freestyle is full of people doing back flips. Just gotta flow with the times and except change. Plus dude put up a good fight

Honestly moto freestyle is kinda lame to watch now, because every trick is a backflip combo. They need to set limits on the number of backflips you can get points for in a run, it would make it way more fun to watch.

But best believe he's just as good as these other pros. As far as the 5-0 to switch crook? He probably doesn't have that locked in, best believe that if he decided to practice em, he could throw em out every try consistently.

Andy entertains, the olympians PERFORM.

I was on board until the "button masher" shit. I'd personally call that "coping vomit." You can detect there is a slight annoyance with the judges too, which is kind of funny. "Oh you're gonna spin like a drill."
Some of his tricks I just wanted to be like, come on dude, do something cooler. Like, smith blunt smith front rock is so random. It’s not even like other dudes can’t do that, they’ve just never tried, while Andy does them all the time. (Also it kind of shows how it works both ways since Andy will miss pretty standard tricks like the cab disaster). I think Chris Cole said it best when he said he was over BATB a few years ago when it became just whoever could fire off their five special tricks that no one else can do first. Andy here has that vibe. Like, go ahead and use the weird special tricks if it gets to it, but do more normal tricks first, otherwise it’s less impressive.

i do love Andy, my issue is that, to give you a silly example, he could do a grab as his trick, and mid air, change where he is grabbing the board (grab low, release, grab high), and this would be considered a "trick". some of his "tricks" look like accidents, like Bam will do a rock, then tap here, tap there, tap back here then end. @@kylehardy7519 If he put effort into "competition skating" he definitely would. Dude took like 2 days to learn how to do late kickflips over hips. People that go for the olympics are practicing day in day out to work on their routine and tricks for those types of competitions, meanwhile Andy is doing 80 different youtube collabs with random people having fun and showing what ACTUAL skating is. Andy entertains, the olympians PERFORM.
I've neve seen skate where they switch offense even after landed tricks but I dig the ability for both skaters to be aggressive

Andy’s style is synonymous with the annoying kid that asks you to play SKATE repeatedly.
Some of his tricks I just wanted to be like, come on dude, do something cooler. Like, smith blunt smith front rock is so random. It’s not even like other dudes can’t do that, they’ve just never tried, while Andy does them all the time. (Also it kind of shows how it works both ways since Andy will miss pretty standard tricks like the cab disaster).
I think Chris Cole said it best when he said he was over BATB a few years ago when it became just whoever could fire off their five special tricks that no one else can do first. Andy here has that vibe. Like, go ahead and use the weird special tricks if it gets to it, but do more normal tricks first, otherwise it’s less impressive.

I feel like andy's bag of tricks is a little unfair in this type of game. Like, he did all of the tricks correctly of course, but it feels way too straight competitive from him instead of actually trying have a fun game. Not a fan.

i do love Andy, my issue is that, to give you a silly example, he could do a grab as his trick, and mid air, change where he is grabbing the board (grab low, release, grab high), and this would be considered a "trick". some of his "tricks" look like accidents, like Bam will do a rock, then tap here, tap there, tap back here then end. Is that a Rock n Roll to Rock n Roll to Rock n roll? I dunno hey. anyone else think the same? hell the dude can do dark slides and natas spins so again, not hating....
