Yes, I edited that out of the video for time, but I feel like a tighter direct-to-streaming TV movie might have helped remove the unnecessary parts and make Knuckles feel more focused.
The TV Show was really good and entertaining but I did find it was like the mini version of Sonic The Hedgehog like the meeting together of knuckles and wade, the battle in hotel which was the bar fight, then the final battle where knuckles was almost defeated. Overall was a good series, its reignites the flame waiting for Sonic 3
@@BlackNerdComedy tbh I would love to see the extended and cut scenes. I feel like we would have more Knuckles but to keep the model at the same movie quality they might have cut more of his parts out and filled it with off screen voices
The whole episode with Knuckles bonding with Wade's mother was heartwarming and funny. It was really nice. The show could've been a little bit better but it was alright. I feel that last episode when they mentioned there was an alien in 1974 but he wasn't blue, my brain was doing the math, that's almost 50 years, was that a Shadow reference
Completely agree with you, Andre. I wanted more Knuckles. I wanted more Maddie. I wanted more of the villains. I get why Knuckles could't be seen in every episode, but why not the villains. Did the budget run out? I wanted to see the two agents actively pursue Knuckles and Wade. I wanted more behind the scenes of what the Buyer was doing and what other chaos he was causing before we saw him in the last episode. I thought that's what we were going to get. 😖 But I did love the Knuckles rock opera episode. I also, agree with the comments about this being a Streaming movie. Tighten it up and make it a 70-90 minute movie instead. I did like the little shout out to Keanu with him being one of the posters hanging in Wade's room. I wonder if they already knew that he was going to voice Shadow when this was filmed or it was just a coincidence? 🤔
@@COSun25 I’m talking about what I wanted to see. And thanks to you’ll whining about the main family you’ll got Wade and his family shenanigans and a whole other third family that took away from the series.

Yeah i agree with you on the villains they started out strong in the first three episodes than we never see them again till the final episode. Then the buyer shoot we only see him in two episodes altogether, honestly instead of the Buyer as the big bad i would have just the two agents as the big bads. Finally! A review about this show I can agree with on some level. I had the same experience of my friend and yelling at the screen asking where’s Knuckles?? I did not care for the bowling “side plot” and Wade’s father and sister. Those were just flat out terrible characters. The mom was great though. Honestly probably the best character in the show. I respect what they TRIED to do but in my opinion, they really missed the mark.
The bowling side plot would have worked if it was used for the whole "Teach Knuckles how to relax and have fun" concept Andre brought up instead of cutting Knuckles out of the story entirely for a good chunk of the last two episodes.
I loved the show, it was fun and I had a good time through most of it... The Wade and Wanda scenes were a bit...much, but I still loved it. I also LOVED the Wendy and Knuckles fight scene to "Hava Nagila". Amazing. Knuckles needed some good wacky times with his buddy lol. What REALLY got me though? is them choosing "What a Man" by Salt-n-Pepa during the credits of episode 6! They knew what they were doing!! How dare they play with our love of the smooth like butter Idris Elba-voiced warrior?!?!?! Am I supposed to be crushing this hard??? The high-five at the very end was adorbs tho haha. I think if you go into the show knowing it’s not solely about Knuckles, & are open to how goofy it is, you’ll have a good time with it. I binged it all in one sitting like a long movie & had a blast. Especially with the ending gag.
4 things, 1.I hope we see Amy in Sonic 3, 2. The flames of disaster are from Sonic 06 so that monster in the musical might be Iblis, meaning we might get Silver soon, 3. I hope they make a Shadow TV series based on the game in between 3 and 4 I think that would help flesh Shadow out as a character like maybe have it that he mixes between Dark and Hero paths and then chooses to join G.U.N. and have it that he uses laser guns to keep it PG
I’m shocked the iblis was refrenced and shown at all and the last thing I was expecting he would be in the movie verse , glad sega isn’t being strict on what characters are allowed to be used
I really enjoyed the first 4 episodes, but I felt the final 2 were kinda a let down with too much focus on the bowling tournament and Wade's dad with Knuckles battles being over way too quickly. The Rock Opera was really fun, and was surprised it made the Flames of Disaster and Iblis from Sonic 06 canon in the movie universe. Also when the bowling tournament gets destroyed in the final battle, the commentators mentioned how the same thing happened with an alien back in 1974. So I expect a bowling flashback for Shadow in Sonic 3 I guess.
I enjoyed the whole series, but like you said, Knuckles is just not there more than half of the time. Wade is really the main character and Knuckles takes a back seat for the entire plot. Even so… the show is… incredibly fun?! Literally the only negative is there is the titular character is on screen for about 1/3 of the run time. Funnily enough, the show itself seems self-aware of this and that adds to the charm. The character dynamics are amazing and the tone is a great blend of goofiness and seriousness.
I feel the same; I enjoyed the show overall but agree that they could’ve added Knuckles more. One thing that really stood out fir me is Knuckles’ facial animations. The animation is done really well and I loved seeing how happy Knuckles was during that battle around the kitchen table
13:20 Well, some people believe the mwntion of a previous incident with an alien in Reno has something to do with Shadow, since it was 50 years ago and Project Shadow is over 50 years old...

No! It should open with Sonic being chased by Gun down the city streets while Tom and Maddie are meeting with their old rock band buddies from High School who are played by the members of Crush 40, and they sing a cover of Escape from the City.

"This random girl has an arc. Is her name Maria?" That line hit so hard! 🤣 Also, the thing no one is talking about that made me enraged is the fact that they chose Pretty Woman as the movie Knuckles and Wade's mom would watch together. 😁 There is something she said about people being judgmental, so I thought it was supposed to be a remark that's connected to later events in the series, but nothing like that ever comes up again, which makes me think it was only a comment about that specific situation in the movie, which would make it just.... weird. What a great review, addressing all the aspects where it fell short but acknowledging the really good things it had too, not saying it's the best thing or the worst thing ever, really nice. Personally, I really liked the show although the parts where they completely forgot Knuckles was supposed to be the protagonist were pretty bad.
You're so right. I think the whole wade, dad issue and bowling tournament was WAY to much to take to much to take away from the knuckles show. If that plot and scenes was cut out I would enjoy it better, because even the bounty hunter stuff led to some good knuckle fights and wade being a warrior.
I love the Sonic movies but honestly love the Knuckles show even more. It was fantastic. Everything they did made sense for the characters and the story. Nothing wrong with leaving us asking for more.
We basically felt the same about the show. I really liked the first few eps and the GUN agent villains, LOVED the rock opera, and liked what Adam Pally did as Wade. I just wish there was a better balance of the two of them cause the fact that we got the entire bowling tournament while Knuckles was fighting off screen for most of the final episode really annoyed me. I also thought the same thing about the music being the same from Mutant Mayhem lol! Literally went "oh Paramount got the rights to use these songs and is making of the most of it for sure 😂". I really enjoyed seeing Knuckles finding and enjoying new human things (when he was on screen), and the fact that he even referenced Pretty Woman in his final fight was a great touch
This is what I don't like about youtubers reviewing the show they don't pay attention. Shadow was mentioned by one of the announcers of an alien coming 50 years ago.
Looking back on it, why wasn’t this show about Knuckles and Maddy? Maybe tie it into her line in the second movie about Knuckles cracking her up, have Knuckles think she sees him as a joke and it causes a rift. Maddy feels guilty and tries to make it up to him by letting him teach her the ways of his people, whilst she takes him on a road trip to visit her family, allowing both sides to get an appreciation for each others history and strengthen their mother/son bond
@@manuelorozco7760 including Rachael, I feel they could have found a way to tie Randal into the main plot. I just finished watching the Knuckles Series and honestly it would have been better as a Movie but I Enjoyed it for the Most Part, sure Wade was the Main Focus but I knew that it would have been expensive to make a CGI Character the Main Focus in a Series but I have Fun, I will admit that in the Future of this Cinematic Universe there how to limit the Human Cast and focus on the Real Stars but because this is a Start I give it a Pass for Now and who knows maybe putting humor is to balance out the Sonic 3 Movie to be Serious, I have to say that this show isn’t the worst thing to ever happen to the Sonic Franchise, that would be Forces, and I will admit that one thing I will admit with Everyone is Wanda(although that Finger Scene made me Laugh so Hard like in Episode 2 Knuckles imagining to do a MK2 Jax Fatality), I enjoy the Series that it’s a 7 out of 10, the only way this Knuckles Project would have worked was if it was a Movie or a Animated Series with Angel Island, Rouge, and the Chaotix but I had Fun and I loved the References from past Game like Tails Bed being Purple like the Tornado 2, the Beginning being a Homage to the Games, Shadow being hinted at a Event of 1974, The Buyer maybe being connected to either Ivo or Gerald, the Rogue Agents interesting Motivations to Neutralize the Morbians as Humanity Fears what they don’t understand, Knuckles getting his Hat and Love for Music, and that Musical being Fun to watch with 2 amazing references to 06 with Iblis and the Flames of Disaster, 7 out of 10.
I legit do want more interaction between those two and Tails with Tom as well. And I was very happy we got a bit of that in this show. Hoping for more in movie 3 definitely.
The moment where Wade was "Knuckles" running around what could be "Emerald Hill" due to the "Special Stage" trying to find the Flames of Disaster and fight a giant creature which was Iblis was a Sonic 06 reference.
i loved the rock opera. seeing howard moon again from teh mighty boosh was awesome and i have to guess he had a hand in the creative direction of that scene
My only issue with this show is exactly what you pointed out. They could've cut out all the unnecessary scenes and focused more on knuckles interacting with Wade and the villains being more of a prominent threat
13:14 Shadow had a very subtle reference, actually. The two commentators mention at the very end there was a similar incident comparing to Knuckles' final battle, which happened in the year 1974 (50 years ago), and the only thing they can recall is that this "alien" certainly wasn't red.
@@walklytekel5713 it’s not shitting on the lore. It’s just not telling the story 1-to-1 or by the books, which is fine because other characters have slightly different backstories that still hit the right beats. I suggest staying optimistic for what they’ll have to offer.
Can't wait for the Shadow show, where Shadow takes a backseat to a GUN agent who's still hung-up about that one time he ruined Christmas Dinner when he was 14.
This has every thing to do with the next movie. They just built up the main character aka wade. He will have a much bigger role in the movie and this was to build him up. Sonic 3. Wade's crusaders
I missed the good, the bad, and the nerdy. LOL I think I might have had more fun than I realized. I was unexpectedly enjoying Wade for the most part but honestly when Knuckles was on screen, it was just a blast. I love Knucks and just wanted to see a WEE bit more of him.
When they starting talking about Knuckles finding his jam, I thought "man, it's right there, have it be Knuckles' theme from Sonic Adventure/2". They had one job, and they failed.
Knuckles was a fun show and id argue it was nice of the team to give us something to hold us over until sonic 3 drops. Some people say that the show has a way worse plot and story line than the movies and, yeah the plot isn't the BEST in the cinamatic universe, however they shouldnt expect it too. Its a tv show for a reason and holding a fun and quirky side show to the standards of a 100 million dollar movie is unreasonable. Plus i doubt they would put the same effort or budget into this show because, well honestly i already explained why. And STILL the team delivers with a length and animation + voice acting quality comparative to the movies. +rep for you my guy.
Btw you made a video about the annoucement of the Sonic movie in 2018, and made a joke about what if Michael Bolton did a rendition of a Sonic song, well he made it in their for a bit in the Knuckles song!
I'm in the same boat. I had fun for the most part, but I felt like it could've been better, give more characters more screen time (especially Knuckles), and I also feel like they repeated some elements from the first movie into the show. Also, I'm okay with Knuckles not being in a whole lot of episode 4! Also, one little nitpick here. Why didn't they use the song "Unknown from ME" for the credits of episode 6?!? I mean, a lot of people would've freaked out if they heard "Rougher than the rest of them"! Come on, Paramount!
i believe there was a mention of shadow in the series. they said there was a battle in the 70's with an alien but the alien wasnt red. that was a hint to shadow i think
Well the first episode at least felt solid, haven't gotten to the rest. It was occasionally reminded me of something like the SNL alumni comedies for better or worse, but then also there's Knuckles. I wasn't expecting anything in particular but it was entertaining.
I feel like the three main humans have their buddy: Tom and Sonic, Wade and Knuckles, and honestly it’s kinda hinted from the 2nd movie with Maddie and Tails because she’s the one who practically got to mess around with Tails gadgets in the end and probably the only one who kinda related to the more mature and well rounded Tails.
I forget which TH-camr pointed it out but I love the hidden Shadow reference at the end. The announcer says that something like that happened at the 1974 tournament (50 years ago) but he wasn't red.
The Buyer is The Hound from game of thrones, that's cool. I haven't given it a chance yet, mainly because you everyone is saying the same thing, it's the Wade & Knuckles show.
This is a very positive review, I just finished the show, Knuckles is great, certain elements work well, Wade does not work, he is too annoying to the point where you don't care what happens to and with him... Season 2 maybe focus more on Knuckles?
I overall think the series was fun but I really wish we could've learned more about knuckles. Like after watching this I was left woth more questions then answers. Hopefully they'll answer some stuff on the third movie.
This was a fine spin off and I like pairing Knuckles with Wade but it needed to have a lead in to Sonic 3 to make it worth it. When this series was first announced I thought it would be a good place to introduce a new character. Instead of Knuckles having a rivalry with random GUN agents it should've been Rouge the Bat.
You know I wouldn't be surprised if the reason Maddie isn't seen much is because they may be trying to set up a transition from seeing the Sonic characters into introducing the Streets of Rage characters using Maddie and her family. For all we know, Maddie may have family in Woodoak City that work with or know Adam Hunter. If we're going to bring in Sega Franchises, why not that one? Sure it has a kid on skates fighting, an old man cyborg, a Disney proxy theme park with a xenamorph, and a boxing kangaroo, but most of the characters are human.
I also very much enjoyed the show. I would like to see a video where they discuss exactly how much Knuckles was in it because for me it felt like he was in it a lot more than what some people make it out to be.

If enough people watch it then maybe they will give us more too. Bring on season 2!
Thank you so much for your review, Andre! I appreciate the way you deliver criticism. Your positivity and optimism are such wonderful traits.
If that was the case, I would have liked to see Rachael!
@@manuelorozco7760 including Rachael, I feel they could have found a way to tie Randal into the main plot. Make it that Agent Mason was the original agent chosen for Operation Catfish but somehow Randal got the mission and he feels bitter about it cause he feels he wouldn’t have let Sonic and Tails escape
@@mrcritical6751 That would make a good way to tie up loose ends
Outside of that drug trip musical adventure.
The series was pretty great.
Who knew a show about bowling would be so entertaining
I was genuinely surprised that there wasn’t much of an epilogue in episode 6. It just… ends kinda abruptly.
I cannot WAIT for that trailer for 3...
Maddie & Tails coming soon
I legit do want more interaction between those two and Tails with Tom as well. And I was very happy we got a bit of that in this show. Hoping for more in movie 3 definitely.
The moment where Wade was "Knuckles" running around what could be "Emerald Hill" due to the "Special Stage" trying to find the Flames of Disaster and fight a giant creature which was Iblis was a Sonic 06 reference.
i loved the rock opera. seeing howard moon again from teh mighty boosh was awesome and i have to guess he had a hand in the creative direction of that scene
Even after many many years I still come to your channel for a smile 😁
My only issue with this show is exactly what you pointed out. They could've cut out all the unnecessary scenes and focused more on knuckles interacting with Wade and the villains being more of a prominent threat
sonic boom knuckles: white dude with dreads energy
sonic movie knuckles: black dude with dreads energy
13:14 Shadow had a very subtle reference, actually. The two commentators mention at the very end there was a similar incident comparing to Knuckles' final battle, which happened in the year 1974 (50 years ago), and the only thing they can recall is that this "alien" certainly wasn't red.
Well then that shits on the lore because shadow was only conscious on the ark never on earth until Eggman activates him
@@walklytekel5713 it’s not shitting on the lore. It’s just not telling the story 1-to-1 or by the books, which is fine because other characters have slightly different backstories that still hit the right beats. I suggest staying optimistic for what they’ll have to offer.
You know what I was watching sonic 2 on Nickelodeon
Congratulations on crossing the 800k mark, Andre 👊😎
The scene where Knuckles and Wade were listening to the radio. They should’ve had knuckles reject every genre of music except for Hip Hop.
This show just needs to be renamed The Wacky Adventures of Wade!.... featuring knuckles
Can't wait for the Shadow show, where Shadow takes a backseat to a GUN agent who's still hung-up about that one time he ruined Christmas Dinner when he was 14.
It would've been a lot better if it was like the sonic X episode "the adventures of Knuckles and Hawk"
Looking forward to Project SHADOW!😊
My favorite reference was the Golden Axe arcade machine
call it Wade & Knuckles
This has every thing to do with the next movie. They just built up the main character aka wade. He will have a much bigger role in the movie and this was to build him up. Sonic 3. Wade's crusaders
Everytime the Buyer talks I think, "This is Optimus Prime"
Now, we need a show called Tails (and Natasha Rothwell as Rachel).
Tika Sumpter is so fine
Totally agree. Yes she is
Btw you made a video about the annoucement of the Sonic movie in 2018, and made a joke about what if Michael Bolton did a rendition of a Sonic song, well he made it in their for a bit in the Knuckles song!
Had it goods, had it bads, but overall me and my girl loved it. We can't wait for Sonic 3.
I love how stupidly silly the show is. The rock opera was hilarious
Yes, I did watch all the episodes on it’s initial release date last week on Friday! 😀👍🏽
Well the first episode at least felt solid, haven't gotten to the rest. It was occasionally reminded me of something like the SNL alumni comedies for better or worse, but then also there's Knuckles. I wasn't expecting anything in particular but it was entertaining.
I love Knuckles... You are so right he's hilarious without being funny. That first episode when he made the throne was hilarious.
I didn’t even know it came out already
Yep, came out last Friday.
Mention easter eggs for shadow was the announcers mention 1974 hinting at shadow 50 yrs ago
Nobody going to mention that Knuckles has been going through multiple PLANETS and GALAXIES to find a home? Where is that in the games lore??
Game lore isn’t too relevant in the movie continuity.
This is an alternate continuity or timeline rather.
I love WADE the series.
That would be so cool if that becomes the case
It's a 10 out of 10. It warmed up my heart and made me laugh
I forget which TH-camr pointed it out but I love the hidden Shadow reference at the end. The announcer says that something like that happened at the 1974 tournament (50 years ago) but he wasn't red.
Stockard Channing! 😍💋
She still does it for me! 🎉🎉🎉
So you're saying they made a "Knuckles Sandwich"?!?......😂 10:07
The Buyer is The Hound from game of thrones, that's cool.
I haven't given it a chance yet, mainly because you everyone is saying the same thing, it's the Wade & Knuckles show.
*Maddie and Amy Rose goes on a road trip. That way we can get more Tika Sumpter* 😂
This is a very positive review, I just finished the show, Knuckles is great, certain elements work well, Wade does not work, he is too annoying to the point where you don't care what happens to and with him... Season 2 maybe focus more on Knuckles?
Who said there was going to be a season 2? This was meant to be a short story of only 6 episodes.
Ok here me out Knuckles season 2… have the intro song be “ do you wanna taste it” from peace maker!
This series was a fever dream. I started out hating it, then was like ??????????? then was rooting for Wade by the end ???? Like how
I overall think the series was fun but I really wish we could've learned more about knuckles.
Not gonna lie if they add Amy and have her and Maddie have a little adventure. That would be dope 👌🏾
