The scene with Mr. Sinister running away crying after seeing Morph turn into him was hilarious. Rogue quoting Gambit before punching Bastion was great! Especially that clap in front of his face! It was really fun watching and hearing your thoughts on X-Men 97. It was indeed fun nerding out with you, Andre.
I can totally see Sinister creating new genetically altered clones of himself to try to transfer his mind to, including one Sinister that has the X-Gene, only for it to awaken and kill OG Sinister. And _that_ Sinister will be the modern sexy, sassy Sinister that we have in the comics now.
X-Men 97 might just be the BEST Sequel series ever! The intensity went to another level from Fox Kids to even better than any MCU project Also, can we please talk about Rogue going HAM vs Bastion? She went all out and showed no mercy. Full Power Rogue 🔥
Personally I feel like his series was already pretty well concluded. I saw that cameo and I was like "Oh please don't try to bring him back and continue that story." I love that Spider-man series, that's still my favorite Spider-man cartoon. The conclusion of that series was my Spider-verse and I still think it's better than any of the Spider-verse stuff we've gotten in recent years. Trying to continue that story I can't imagine them being able to do anything with series that wouldn't end up ruining what we had before. About the only way I could except a continuation set in that same universe is if they acknowledge the passing of time and make the series focused on May Parker/Spider-Girl as a teenager. I don't need to see more of Peter Parker still being a teenager after all these years, but I kind of want to see a time jump to Peter and Mary Jane finding out their daughter has developed spider powers too. She was never in the original series but she's from the comics and yeah she was named after Peter's aunt. A new cartoon about her, adapting her story I could get behind that but I'm just kind of tired of teenage Spider-man and don't see any place for his story to go without allowing the character to age.
i was a teenager for the original, im now early 40s this show - hit all the right call backs and nostalgia, but bringing in a deeper story that as a full ass "adult" was AMAZING also yes - do the entire 90s amcu omg.... it would be amazing
That was part of the magic trick they pulled off. The first episode was basically a nostalgia trip showing they knew what was great about the OG series. Everything past that was showing that they are going forward, and not simply banking ONLY on nostalgia.
This show had me cheering, crying, saying " THAT'S BARS" pretty much every time Magneto talks, gave each x-men the chance to show off, GOBLIN QUEEN, ROGUE, STORM, JEAN, GAAH DAMNN. God I love this show, this is how you take something from your childhood and have it grow up with your audience. AND THE MvC REFERENCES???
We needed the X-Men. I am so happy the REAL Marvel A-team is back. This show had me wanting more and the homages to classic X-Men storylines. God i loved this show
Ignoring all the pessimism and negativity towards the MCU, it's astounding what they did with their "B-team" (i.e. Cap, Ironman, Thor, Guardians etc) but the possibilities of what can happen with the X-Men in the mix and a good version of F4 makes me really hopeful for the future.
Yeah, I figured it too. I hate to say I figured that because of that mediocre Apocalypse movie, but that movie did keep his ancient Egyptian origin intact. (Btw, yes, I know that movie did Apocalypse dirty. He is supposed to be nearly Thanos level in power, and probably much stronger than Thanos without the stones.
Behind Omega Red and to the left, was Crimson Dynamo, a Russian supervillain from Iron Man's rogues gallery. Also, at 19:04, that's Psylocke, and behind her, are a few members of Alpha Flight, a Canadian superhero team that Wolverine was on for a short time, before he joined the X-Men.

X-MEN' 97 is one of the best Marvel shows I've seen ever!!! It's so refreshing to have a Marvel show be disconnected from the MCU and still have compelling characters and an engaging story. The fact that it's animated as well is just a bonus!!!
What is impressive with this season is that, while most X-Men media is just straight up "Professor X = good, Magneto = bad. Here, as you pointed out, they are willing to say "hey man, this constant idealism . . . it sometimes gets us killed", and it goes out of his way to ask if Magneto was right, even though he takes it WAY too far at the end. Honestly, if they can finally work together as co-leaders, it would be perfect. Magneto needs Professor X to keep him from passing final judgment on humanity, and reign in his worst instincts, but Professor X needs Magneto to be the voice of cold hard reality, so that his idealism does not turn him naive and blind to when humans are playing them. Ideally, you want a leader that strives toward an ideal world and inspired hope in us all, but also is realistic and skeptical enough to keep his defenses up so his people remain safe.
Going up there were 3 things I wanted related to bringing back Xmen not understanding the business aspect to anything... 1 Age of Apocalypse and Apocalypse getting to be the big bad. Beyond Good and Evil is amazing... 2 Onslaught... 3 Something I thought we were getting as a kid but never got a Marvel animated universe with payoff. Not only that but especially in the 90s universe. I loved loved loved Avengers EMH, Spectacular Spiderman, Wolverine and Xmen, Evolution, I even have a soft spot for Ultimate Spiderman but this is exactly what I been asking for now for like 20 years
Just watched the last episode, talk about suspense! 😰😅 I was on edge the whole episode thinking "lawd please don't off anybody!" Then the last scene with Apocalypse holding Gambits card got me wanting to pick up the comic book.
I squeed when Storm changed to her classic “early Claremont era” gear, and I hoped we would see the others get their classic outfits. Seeing the classic Cyclops, Marvel Girl and Wolverine uniforms just took me back. They looked so good in their classic outfits! 😃
Definitely one of the greatest X-Men series ever created, period. Captured everything the classic set out to achieve and even more!! AND THE VOICE ACTORS WERE INCREDIBLE!!! I was in TEARS over several episodes!! I truly think they outdid themselves here. This may be one of the best shows to come out this year!!! ❤❤❤❤
20:10 Yeah...nah. That wasn't "MorphJean" saying that to encourage Logan to stay alive. That was Morph seeing an opportunity to say how they really feel and taking it.
High agreement with everything said in this video This is imho the BEST MARVEL SHOW EVER DONE. I have never been so hyped for a show like this in a very long time and we need more of them like it.I am so ready for the next season and see where they go with this.
This show deserves every bit of the hype and the praise it has received. Season 1 was a masterpiece and I just cannot wait for season 2, and HOPEFULLY Spider-Man '98.
This X-men series was great and beautiful and made me cry lot. I'm so happy that Disney/Marvel brought X-men back. I was in my early teens when I first watch it and now at 44 I'm truly one of the bless one that live long to see X-men 97. I always love to give honor, respect and love to all 90 X-men fans that didn't live long to see X-men 97, may they rest well in peace. We never knows when our time may come, but I hope I live long enough to see season 2 and more 90 animated universe cartoons come back like the X-men, bigger and better than ever before.
Man this show lived up my expectations since the first episode and it really lived up to its name! I really enjoyed it overall and man that finale really strucked me hard and I hope we get a season 2!
This show deserves all the praise, flowers, accolades, etc. I'm so happy this was something that so many people could just sit back and collectively enjoy and geek out over. 👏👏👏💯❤️🔥
To be fair, Marvel animation was the first to start an animated universe before DCAU. Spider-Man had the X-Men cameo in it. He also had daredevil cameo with it and secret war episode with the fantastic four in it
It was also the first series to do the Spider-Verse concept with its last two episodes. This is honestly making me want to revisit the rest of the Marvel Animated Universe. I watched both _X-Men_ and _Spider-Man,_ so I know those still hold up, but I wonder how the rest of it fares now that I'm older. I remember liking _The Incredible Hulk,_ and being bored with _Silver Surfer,_ but I never saw enough of _Fantastic Four_ or _Iron Man_ to get an impression of them. (Funny, because I've heard that _Silver Surfer_ is pretty underrated, but that's not what Young Me thought.) I don't know how well they all fit together… but what the hell, it's not like divergent continuity has stopped me before.
Technically, weren't the 60s Filmation DC cartoons the first superhero animated universe? Superman, Batman and Aquaman (and Superboy) had shows, Green Lantern, Flash, The Atom and Hawkman had shorts, and there were Justice League shorts starring all 7 (plus Teen Titans shorts with some of their sidekicks). Then Marvel had one in the 80s with Spider-Woman, Spider-Man, Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends and Incredible Hulk.
As someone who's Jewish, Magneto specifically using the word "pogrom" is so affecting. And I love Storm's reaction to The Phoenix. And we’re even getting Nate Grey! I guess we also know how Gambit’s coming back. Next season is going to be _wild!!!_
I absolutely loved it Andre I can’t wait for season two of this fantastic show ever I honestly hope to see what the MCU does with the X-men in the movies. X-men Forever and Always For Life!
Yeah this was real fun, and personally... I'm just happy they brought Nightcrawler back in the team for the original Animated series finally. I'm also glad not only did Gambit have incredible moments, and Rogue (and Nightcrawler), I'm glad they hinted his return for his fans. Then the redemption of Cyclops has been great... I mean, the use of Beast and Forge has also been great! I can only hope Season 2 we get more cool stuff from Wolverine, and really get some cool stuff with Storm. ( just remembered... we didn't see her or morph after the Time travel, right? So I wonder if they are in a third team with Logan...)
Man, my favorite part about X-Men ’97 is the fact that I was able to watch week to week without massive spoilers like MCU films or the Disney+ shows! I felt like a kid again watching a Saturday morning cartoon (on a Wednesday morning lol). Being a fan of the original series from the ‘90s meant being rewarded with the various Easter eggs in these 10 episodes. I can’t wait for Season 2 along with the possibility of the other Marvel cartoons from the ‘90s getting their own reboots as well! Let’s be real; we all want the Spidey ’98 series more than anything else!
The old Marvel way of writing comics involved a theory that - even if you are picking up an issue in the middle of a story arc - you should be able to understand what is going on. This led to a clarity in storytelling that we seldom see in the MCU (or even present day Marvel Comics), and seeing it fully on display in X-Men 97 was a breath of fresh air. The cameos felt like fun. The stories presented were tightly edited and well presented. X-Men 97 captured what brought me to reading comics - action, adventure, a little bit of soap opera, and a lot of thought provoking subject matter. I hope that "they" learn a lot from X-Men 97 and apply it to the MCU in greater amounts - punchy story telling, no wasting time, keep it accessible for newbies, give resolution to a story arc and don't diminish the current project in the name of the next one.
This show is everything we could ask for and more. You could feel the love poured into it, both for the original show and the stories they are based on, and they carefully crafted it into something old and new fans can enjoy together. And I need a clean version of the dramatic version of the theme song from episode 10!
Love ya like a play cousin! This show was so damn good! They nailed it from start to finish. The 3 part finale was EPIC!! I would love if they gave us a separate 90’s animated Universe 🙏🏾‼️💯
This has been such wild ride, I feel the nostalgia mixing with first impressions all throughout the show and it makes me happy to know that some of them at marvel still know what they're doin.
Andre!!! So glad to see you talking about this! It really was phenomenal, and I LOVE to hear your opinions on any show, man. I always look forward to a video from you!

This was such a good review! Thank you Andre! I always enjoy your videos 🙌
From Ep1 to the finale, I've had a blast from the past. It's nostalgic so hard it with powerful storytelling it made me shed a tear here and there. Can't wait for S2.
I didn't even need to see those apoca lips. As soon as i saw the past and all that sand, i was like awe hell. And i wasn't looking at the tv when he said his name, but I heard it and just said "damn".
I love how hyped you are for this. It does feel like something I'd gush about to friends on Monday at recess. It's defintely a hit among fans our age. Season 2 is going to be interesting. They keep hinting Dust and Magick so I hope they show up
This show was awesome! I cannot wait for season 2, and I hope it paves the way for the return of Spider-Man (As well as potential new shows, like maybe Black Panther)
I’ve been on an X-Men kick for the last two months. After rewatching the movies with my mom, I watched the original series to prep for this one and I ended up loving it so much I bought the first omnibus volume of Chris Claremont’s run! These shows did what the movies couldn’t: they made me a fan!
You ain't going nowhere are you Andre? Who will my kids compare me to if you leave? Then again since growing out my beard, they haven't said it as much....🤔 Thank you for what you do. It kept me company as I was cutting the grass. I'm sure my neighbors were wondering what I was laughing at and what my loud "YEAHs" were about, an animated 90s MCU in case y'all were wondering... See you next time. Okay I had to edit and watch what you were saying.... 😂 Love the Madam Web reference in this!
Binged the prior series to refresh my memory, and yeah thankfully satisfied with 97. It hyped me up and made me appreciate what came before and Happy about the direction they are going. The cameos on point, the action was great, I'm glad Morph is more involved now (he is trolling everyone this season). It seems like they gave all the XMen some sort of arc prior or at the season finale and I'm ready for season 2 LETTTTSSSSGOOOO
Can't remember the last time a tv made me feel like a child again.... As soon as that intro starts I am right back to being that 12 yr old kid that ran home after school to watch the next episode
I’m so glad to see that it returned to form bc evolved with the times and I will be watching X-man’97 very soon so this just makes me feel relieved and not worried about anything being messed up that’s not already messed up already from the original
One of my favorite moments in the finale was very small. When they’re on the blackbird, Cyclops looks down at Wolverine as he’s lying on the table and says, “Don’t you dare break her heart. Do what you do best. Heal.” It’s small but I liked it. One of my favorite elements of X-Men is the bromance/hatred between Wolverine and Cyclops. Not how I thought the show was going to end but a great ending. Also, what happened to Wolverine? Him and Morph weren’t with either time travel group at the end. Maybe I missed something. Help me out.
Yeah this was freaking amazing. Going from watching the entire original series for the first time then watching this brought back that excitement I've been missing from superhero stuff lately. I'm no mcu hater either but there is definitely something special about X-Men 97.
Seeing Storm laugh for joy as Jean took her Phoenix form was heartwarming as well as hilarious.
She knew they was doomed ha ha ha!
Watch the scene where she laughs again.
The way she laughs and the expression on her face is also a great “well, Phoenix is back, and she’s gonna go psycho on all of us, and we are all f*cked”
Made me laugh so much. It’s totally also a “we’re all doomed” laugh 🤣
And she was right. She went out on Sinister and Bastion
loved that moment, saw someone say it was like Bruce in the Hulkbuster hyping up Thor coming down lol
Iknooooo I could hear the *yaaal bout to get fukt up* in her laughter lol frickin loved it 🔥
So happy that they not only brought this show back but did it absolutely justice! This is the X year!
They didn't bring it back, they used it as a Canon to launch it into the stratosphere! The show was so good. So good.
An X Year…indeed!🫡
This damn cartoon almost made me cry MULTIPLE TIMES in this finale. This was the best series of this year
Almost?
I was crying every Wednesday
40 year old man. Teared up every Wednesday. Not ashamed.
Just almost. As a 35 year old I burst into tears listening to the menu music of Halo 2 last week😊 (the feels)
Jean- Make them mind your weather sister.
Storm- and them weather your mind.
Me- ugh....best line of the show 😞🥲.
That line was delivered perfectly. Only then 2 can use it. Effing beautiful
I thought I was the only one who felt how powerful that exchange was!❤
The scene with Mr.

The best thing about Doom's cameo is that the credits list him as simply "Latverian OZT Member." 😂
Could be a Doombot
I think that’s hinting that X Men 97 can’t use him officially until after he’s introduced in Fantastic Four .
Don't know why the lighting went up and down ha ha! But hope you still enjoy :)
Thank you Sir. The Show is the best Marvel project since END GAME.
“Mind them your Weather” - its clearly Storm

I agree along with Cobrai Kai I can't wait to get the final season over the next year with it being split up and getting more episodes.
His name was Gambit. Remember it
They better give 90s Spidey the same treatment.
We saw him in this episode, so I'm hoping he gets the conclusion he deserves.
Personally I feel like his series was already pretty well concluded. I saw that cameo and I was like "Oh please don't try to bring him back and continue that story." Hey, Marvel tried to push them pretty hard in the 90s.
Fun fact: The Black Panther in this series is not T’Challa (not yet..) but his father T’chaka.
Fun fact: they call him by his name, T’chaka, in the episode. Also the white sideburns give it away.

Me seeing Peter and MJ again after 26 years: You’re as beautiful as the day I lost you.
I have the secret hope that they'll show up with an explanation for how he found MJ in Beyond the SpiderVerse and obliquely refer to X97.
When it came to the cameos, I liked the detail of making a few of them in the '90s animated styles such as Peter, MJ, Flash Thompson, and Iron Man.
I love both Daredevil and Cloack and Dagger cameos too
The moment i saw the X Men in the Egyptian times, I knew that was Apocalypse even before he removed his mask.

I am still on MCU burn out but X-Men '97 was such a breath of nostalgic fresh air. I am with you, '97 animated MCU!
IMO this was the best thing Marvel/Disney has ever produced in recent memory! Can't wait for season 2 to drop!:)

i've been rendered speechless by this series, and especially this episode!
I love how they dont make the cameos a big deal, like if course Dr. Strange would be here. I've missed your reviews/spoiler recaps!❤
X-Men 97 is the only show that had me watching cartoons before I went to work on Wednesday morning.
ALWAYZZZZZ the best reviews!! Feels like I’m doing Marvel Kitchen Talk!! I’m with YOU…this is the ‘What If’ I NEED!!🤣🤣
I was wondering that too? Did they go into a different time or ended up in one of the other times we saw.
I thought the tine travel thing was out of left field, but then I remembered that Bastion absorded Cable's arm, which contains his time travel device.
Excelsior!!! You make Stan Lee proud.....
Bastion went into Megaman mode and rip Cables are off and upgraded..lol great summary Andre
Rogues fight with Bastion was the highlight for me. The way it was animated was amazing. I felt her rage/pain.
The ending of the video has me anxious! You're my favorite TH-camr! You are so real and honest with your review/thoughts it's refreshing.
Honestly surprised that a Deadpool cameo wasn't snuck into it.
Beau (show creator) said on Twitter that Disney said he was off limits for this season
I said it before I’m going to say it again. Three words…Mega…Optic…Blast 💥 (with tears in his eyes)
The climax of this episode was very Sonic Adventure 2-esc. I was half expecting "Live and Learn" to start playing at one point.😆
For the record Andre, the Sentinel-Human Hybrids are called "Prime Sentinels". At least in the comics. Also, OZT is Operation Zero Tolerance.
This show is everything we could ask for and more. You could feel the love poured into it, both for the original show and the stories they are based on, and they carefully crafted it into something old and new fans can enjoy together. And I need a clean version of the dramatic version of the theme song from episode 10!
It might be best marvel product out the movies and shoes ever
Love ya like a play cousin! This show was so damn good! They nailed it from start to finish. The 3 part finale was EPIC!! I would love if they gave us a separate 90’s animated Universe 🙏🏾‼️💯
This has been such wild ride, I feel the nostalgia mixing with first impressions all throughout the show and it makes me happy to know that some of them at marvel still know what they're doin.
Just as the X-Men has matured and the fans enjoy it, so has Andre, and more mature Andre is the best!
I love that you put it all out there showing your love of Marvel.
Ain't no review like an Andre review cos an Andre review has fun impressions, references and tangents.
Andre!!! So glad to see you talking about this! It really was phenomenal, and I LOVE to hear your opinions on any show, man. I always look forward to a video from you!
This was such a good review! Thank you Andre! I always enjoy your videos 🙌
Xmen 97 Magneto is the definition of F- around and find out 😂
You think they'd learn by now ha ha!
We love geeking out with you too, Andre! Great take on X-Men '97! Love this cartoon!
The best thing Marvel has done in YEARS!
Morp catfishing wolverine back to health was WILD.
From Ep1 to the finale, I've had a blast from the past. It's nostalgic so hard it with powerful storytelling it made me shed a tear here and there. Can't wait for S2.
Andre to the front of my morning TH-cam playlist, talking about the best Marvel show in ages. Another banger video.
They keep hinting Dust and Magick so I hope they show up
Everytime Omega Red was on screen, I kept thinking, "I could fix him." The art direction on this was phenomenal. I can't wait for S2!!
“Apoka-liiiiippsss” Andre.Great work. Thank U!
Now it's time for Spiderman 98.
And with that they may be able to redeem Madame Web, the way they redeemed Cyclops...I hope...
@@ApexPredator1000 hopefully.
This show was awesome! I cannot wait for season 2, and I hope it paves the way for the return of Spider-Man (As well as potential new shows, like maybe Black Panther)
Always a good time to hear you in my ear and in my screen andre
Great series.. last time I had that Christmas morning excitement was when Young Justice came out in 2010.
I wanted to say thank you for your content, I’ve been really down in the dumps lately and your video and energy made me feel better
I feel bad for whoever has to make the new MCU X-Men movies, this show just set a high standard
After watching this, I rather not see live action MCU X-Men
What is up people insistence to "bring up" the MCU?
I am trying to fathom this. Why? Has nothing to do with the discussion of the show.
@@BmoreAkuma Kevin Fiege, Watcher cameo, Deadpool & Wolverine movie, etc...
If i had not seen this very enjoyable series, your recap would have taken me to it. Love your joy
Peter and MJ, but people seem to miss that Flash Thomson is right behind Peter.
Cable is my favorite! That guy is such a badass.
I love the Cerebrocast episode about Professor X & the discussion about his internalized ableism
I’m so glad to see that it returned to form bc evolved with the times and I will be watching X-man’97 very soon so this just makes me feel relieved and not worried about anything being messed up that’s not already messed up already from the original
Great to see Peter found
Mj
Oh yea didn't she get lost in another dimension or something?
@@Errordemn6 yeah
Plot twist: MJ is secretly Mystique 😂
One of my favorite moments in the finale was very small. When they’re on the blackbird, Cyclops looks down at Wolverine as he’s lying on the table and says, “Don’t you dare break her heart. Do what you do best. Heal.” It’s small but I liked it. One of my favorite elements of X-Men is the bromance/hatred between Wolverine and Cyclops.
Not how I thought the show was going to end but a great ending. Also, what happened to Wolverine? Him and Morph weren’t with either time travel group at the end. Maybe I missed something. Help me out.
I know one important cameo you missed. *Flash Thompson!* Captain of the Midtown High School football team!
Yeah this was freaking amazing. Going from watching the entire original series for the first time then watching this brought back that excitement I've been missing from superhero stuff lately. I'm no mcu hater either but there is definitely something special about X-Men 97.
I have always believed that super heroes are better in animation. LIVING COMICS. Give us the CAMP!
Camp means making fun of the source material and getting silly with it. This stays true to the source material.
need so much of this series again❤
enjoyed it, glad to see this quality come back to Marvel again
