VERY NICE! As having worked off a 2K h2O pumper/tender 1st due, I like the idea of a 2.5K tank! That "SAM" system is also pretty sweet! One thing I didn't see on this apparatus was hydraulic or E/ Hydraulic tools. do they have a rescue that carries those or does the "ladder" have those onboard? Thanks for an awesome video as always!!
Man that's a huge Engine...pretty incredible! The only thing I would say it's missing is a Booster reel or two Booster reels...im a big fan a Booster lines !! Otherwise definitely a amazing rig !!
I love that it is a tanker/engine and rescue all in one... Bet that gives the crew some peace of mind when they are working a fire that they got a few minutes before they gotta think about how much water is in the tank where a 800 gallon tank is only like 4 mins for one attack line and 2 mins for 2 lines..2k of water that is what 10 minutes of water? That sounds like a really nice safety for a second unit to get to you and connect for extra water...
Have you ever been to Walkersville, Maryland and checked out the apparatus they have? They just got a new rescue squad and have a lot of other cool apparatus
Can you check out the Braun Spartan Furion ambulances with fire truck cabs? I dont know too much about them but I think they were a failed experiment in the late 2000s-early 2010s and they seem like they deserve a video

I understand from one of my departments that we support and donated Drones to in Pennsylvania you're doing a interview with them. Old Lycoming Township ? it was our foundation that got these departments started with their drone program be nice if you could help shed light on the amazing work our foundation does to support underfunded public safety... I'll look forward to seeing that interview...
Great video! I would like to suggest that you do a program on how different fire departments manage ambulance deployment. Here in Southaven, MS our Fire Department runs their own ambos. However, I have noticed that in other areas of the country ambos are run by private companies. I don't understand how that would ever be a better way to offer life saving services. Just asking.
While all this tech is great and is certainly making life easier for the crew, are there manual controls so you can still use the truck to it's full potential if the computer is dead? My partner is a retired firefighter and that was his biggest concern while watching this.
Have you ever come across any old Seagraves with 6v92TA Detroit diesel motors or any of the other two cycle Detroit diesels? and would you be open to letting viewers know what motor is in these apparatus that you do a station rigs on?
@HeroesNextDoor yeah; I actually had a hard time finding out the right wording to ask this question. But thanks for the feedback. I'll have to check them out.
Why does the orange dude flash on the screen when you said incident commander and the accountability board. I hope you're suggesting he must be held accountable for 1/6, never forget and never forgive!
@@HeroesNextDoor Absolutely love it. It is very similar to the Sam system. But with the Sam system you are limited to what appliances you can use with it like you have to use Sam branded items and ankron. And with the Omni system You can use TFT systems too and not be limited to what you can use and put on your fire apparatus.
YES me too thinking that. I wonder if the Electric SIREN has that "Q" sounding coaster Siren system ( button) set up. YES all big Tankers or West Coast FF call it a TENDER. I put a Federal "Q" on 1500 two axle Tender we have, took it off another Engine we were selling 😊 I did NOT want that "Q" siren to go with that engine that we don't know if a company would bid on it for just a water truck. I got the great Federal intersepter electronic siren off the same engine we sold. You know the old school electronic SIRENS you could get the in-between tones 😊
Thanks for the tour. An interesting multi-purpose rig. I could not help but notice that in many of those compartments opened, it sure seemed like the space is not being well utilized, in terms of much in each compartment. The other consideration I'd have with a rig like that is with the weight-of-rig, both safety and also the ability to accelerate. Once you get there, it sure is nice to have all that water I suppose.
Compared to a modern European engine, they pack way more stuff in a much smaller size. Tank capacity is only a bit smaller though: th-cam.com/video/OuuP0ngZujA/w-d-xo.html
Tank capacity here is 10000 litres. Most Dutch engines have 2000 litres, so that is quite a bit smaller (1/5), especially with the higher rate of flow used in American fire fighting. Though you could have gone down the route of saying that European fire engines are a lot cheaper, less than half the price, so you could have bought a very well sepc'd first due engine with battery tools, more ladders etc to cover lots of call types and a separate tanker for the same price.
@@HeroesNextDoor Yeah I know the dark humour side, unfortunately in this political climate especially when you would have a good portion of kids watching that don't understand the culture it might be best to avoid. That appliance is a beast though.

Another great video Mike!! That was an impressive “engine.” Keep up the great work and “thank you” for all you put into this channel!
You bet!
Awesome engine and awesome tour, thanks!
Our pleasure!
This fire truck is impressive. Currently one of my favourite ones. Thanks Hero's Next Door

Great job
You should do tour at my firehouse in Lambertville, NJ we have some great rigs there.
wow what a nice Rig that truck is!
It sure is!
Awesome job … cool set up Ada has and Kyle seems like a great officer or future officer 👍
I think so too!
Imagine if there was a hazardous materials truck that could convert into a Tornado Intercepter that would probably be really hard to make

With the motor specs
There is no better sounding motor than the 6V92, especially in a fire truck. Sadly there aren't many left around here.
@Heroes next door Is there a video that describes the types of apparatus'?
What are you asking for? Multiple units in one video? There are multiple videos with all different apparatus now

They may call it an engine but it identifies as a tender.
Only on the left cost we on the east call them tanker
My FD just got a new truck a few Months ago
1:26 computers add more errors that can happen
Cool tech on it but I don’t think it will age well. A lot to break and many things that could be obsolete or not supported in 10+ years.

Why do you have background music when you’re trying to have some explain the rig
Helps blend the cuts I need to make. Otherwise the film gets really choppy
