Once a name is put on a contract with a major recording label, most all of that work is already done for the artist. A signed, major label artist does not have to actively market and push their product because that work is already done by the representatives from the label promoting the artists work. Meaning, that artist now has more time and availability to continue writing and working on new material and not having to focus on every single aspect of the business for themselves. So, even if Tom MacDonald did have someone that say just edited his video content; that does not help him to get his work out to more people just because someone else may have edited a video for him. Trust me, if Cardi B actually had to do the work to promote dumpster fire songs like "WAP" by herself, the vast majority of Americans would have never even heard her name before. But, Cardi B is a meat puppet, auto tuned, talentless hack that only has a contract because low IQ people at a record label somewhere "needed to promote the wokeness of society" with an artist. Small (1 artist) label owner here - goal is to change the norm for labels. No reason major label should be siphoning away profits and royalties from artists. Issue is, indie artists have trouble getting heard due to major labels choking airwaves with their (mostly regurgitated trash) music. Support local and indie - would love to hear your thoughts!

Small (1 artist) label owner here - goal is to change the norm for labels. No reason major label should be siphoning away profits and royalties from artists. Issue is, indie artists have trouble getting heard due to major labels choking airwaves with their (mostly regurgitated trash) music.
