Upgrading my 2015 Victory Cross Country stereo. Going from Hawg Wired 5.25” speakers to DB Drive WDX6MOTO speakers, while still using my JL Audio MX280/4 amplifier.
Hey thanks for this video! I just bought a 2016 XCT a few weeks ago and have been contemplating upgrading the sound system and adding an amp. Doesn't seem too intimidating to do myself anymore.
Nice video . I’m in Northern Ontario and have done upgrades on my 16 CCT , I have the same moto 6’s in the fairing but also upgraded the headunit, added an amp , speakers in the bags and new speakers in the tour pack. In the next few weeks I’m adding another amp bridged to power only the bag lid speakers. You really should look into a headunit as you are not getting the full potential of the amp. Hopefully you used a small Oscope to set the gains on the amp?
Looks like you have had them in for a few months now. any issues? did those adapters hold up to the weight of those speakers? Looking at putting them into my bike. thanks
I have same setup no issues, difference is I put sound deadening all through fairing and over gapping holes fa tory speaker pods left behind. Mi e is razy loud but I have 2 6.5, 2 6x9, and 2 8s on my cross country
I think Ive seen you on the Facebook victory forums I love your bike what color paint is that I'm looking to go gloss gray instead of my stock metallic gray bike looks good
@@brennanboxall Wondering if u still hv the bike im about to start a system on my 2016 cross country, I hv a question the amp you did it interfere with the amp the bike came with i hv the 8ball so there wasn't a just a plug in jack in saddle bag.
Chances are it would just get pulled down because of music copyright or something. That’s why I didn’t do it. And also, listening to it off an iPhone isn’t going to do much of a comparison. I don’t know how to get around the copyright part and wasn’t worth the hassle of gettin it deleted

After all these years, how are the speakers still performing or have you changed them out?
They have been working great. I actually just added speaker lids as well
I use the short end of a thin Allen wrench and hook it in a grille hole and pull the speaker cover.
Really good looking bike, look forward to more work on the bike. keep the vids coming

Hey thanks man. Mine is just Gloss Titanium. I’ve painted almost the whole bike at this point but got the Victory paint right from Witchdoctors
Have any videos of the audio? I'm pretty certain it sounds amazing with those 6MOTO's.
Naa I don’t. Never shows up great on phones anyway. But ya it sounds pretty clear with my setup

Would've been great to be able to hear what it sounded like...
Sorry for the disappointment, but can’t get any sort of representation through an iPhone microphone anyway
The grips, are they heated grips? If so. What brand
They are not heated unfortunately
Nice bike ,do you still have it ?
Thanks a lot. Yes I do
Can you do a video of your wiring process?
Do you have the link to the adapters

Does the amp run off the factory power wire?
No it doesn’t. I ran a separate fused power wire and a a battery ground

Thanks Tyrone. It was just custom built myself
Great but we never heard it....do a video on the sound...
