    An immensely insightful commentary on such a vital topic. The particular comments with regard to the distinction between the knowledge of good and evil and knowledge was helpful. On a personal level, as an older law enforcement officer, the knowledge of evil weighs on me heavily.

      Can't have evil without the good.
      If you do not balance your perceptions, it will warp your mind into accepting information into your eyes and ears that begin to shape your heart.
      Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. Don't let evil in, and it won't come out.

    Psalm 16:1-11
    [1]Keep me safe, my God,
    for in you I take refuge.
    [2]I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
    apart from you I have no good thing.”
    [3]I say of the holy people who are in the land,
    “They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.”
    [4]Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more.
    I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods
    or take up their names on my lips.
    [5]Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup;
    you make my lot secure.
    [6]The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
    surely I have a delightful inheritance.
    [7]I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;
    even at night my heart instructs me.
    [8]I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
    With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
    [9]Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
    my body also will rest secure,
    [10]because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
    nor will you let your faithful one see decay.
    [11]You make known to me the path of life;
    you will fill me with joy in your presence,
    with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
    I am encouraged by this Psalm 16 Praise the Lord
    The alternative has no future.

    45:43 this is the practice of chumra originating from the concept of self imposed requirements that exceed the basic compliance to the law. I think it is explained in Deuteronomy 22:8.
    The requirement was "you shall not eat," she was not present when the commandment was given so she could have only gotten her information from Adam. He has to be the one conveying "neither shall you touch it" to her. She is only repeating what she has been told.
    But she is so completely misinformed because she says "the tree in the midst of the garden we shall not eat from," well, the tree in the midst of the garden is the tree of life and there was no restriction placed on that tree.
    Furthermore she doesn't even know that she's at the tree that "she shall not eat from" while conversing with the snake. To her the tree she shall not eat from is in the midst of the garden as she states.
    This is why Adam is blamed for the fall. Romans 5. Adam knew what he was doing and the snake knew what he was doing. They both get a "because you have done this" from God in Genesis 3.
    Eve is told, in turning (away from God in your crisis to your husband for help, wrong choice little sister) you will turn to him but he will simply overrule you, the compassion you seek from him will fall on deaf ears, he cannot absorb your labor pains, etc... as I have done for you, you have made your husband to come before me, good luck with that.
    Adam, supposedly being federal head of household, fails in his duties, Ezekiel 3:18+19.
    Eve was not blamed by God for the fall so that the woman can bring forth the Savior into the world without the sin of Adam falling upon him. Jesus is the sinless lamb of God. Born of a woman, Genesis 3:15, and this is the actual rendering of 1 Tim 2:15, the word "notwithstanding" is a legal word that means; "we accept the foregoing fact but this is how it will be applied."
    Yes the woman was in transgression, but where there is no law there is no transgression, she was not present. She is not held accountable because she will be the avenue by which the Savior will come.
    Job said " who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean thing, not one. This is why Eve is not condemned for the fall.

    Dr Lenox I think I mentioned this to Dr Peterson when you're reading about the rid isn't that another word for a part of the DNA that God actually took from adam?
